Adonis Icarus

This scent is probably the closest I've ever gotten to a signature scent, which is hilarious to me since I absolutely hated it when I first sprayed. Initially, I thought it was a pleasant yet very uninteresting orange fragrance. But context is the magic that makes this fragrance shine in my opinion. There's a reason why LV's original is called Afternoon Swim. This fragrance, as does the original, performs well in the high heat of the afternoon. I use it principally as a refresher after the gym. The zingy orange puts a smile on my face and makes me feel invigorated. Then, as it dries down and the subtle musk and ambergris slowly pop in, you truly get that feeling of the sun on your skin after a nice swim on a hot day. While not a beast, like most citrus fragrances, it's a solid performer, clocking in at about 4 -6 hours, which for me is all I need, cause I love the opening so much I'd happily spray again. While the price point for the original LV can make its use only good for special occasions, this one has become a post-workout daily driver for me. I just can't stop reaching for it.

HOLY COW i finally tried my sample of this, I was nervous because I had high hopes for it, but it is practically everything I hoped it would be. Literally like freshly juiced orange with that little bit of ginger and lemon in there, striking and zingy while not being a super sugary or artificial orange, very clean note on the middle/tail end from the neroli and vetiver and almost a tiny bit of vanilla in the middle phase of it settling - not quite dipping into dreamsicle territory but just toeing that line while keeping the orange tangy and fresh throughout. I would eat this if I could. This is basically aromatherapy for me. Smells like sunshine and orange juice and cruising with the windows down while friends sing obnoxiously to the radio. I will say I wish the sillage was a little stronger, and the powdery side does come through slightly more than id like, but it's winter so i have high hopes for how it'll perform in the warm season. I am absolutely wearing this more this summer and happy to report it as a success.

I’m a huge citrus fan. This one REALLY delivers. You have to like orange. It’s the most accurate orange scent I’ve ever smelled second to LV Afternoon Swim, which is the inspiration for this scent. It’s just a little less strong than Mancera Lemon Line, as well as less sharp. Aquatica is very Lime focused and more boozy and coconut. It layers GREAT with Aquatica. I also one Kafu which is a more Lemon scent. If anything other than orange, you could say it definitely leans towards mandarin. Today was the first time I wore it at work and got 5 compliments, which never happens. I wear cologne for me, not to seek compliments. Today people I guess just couldn’t resist asking what I was wearing. I haven’t worn side by side with LV Afternoon swim, but definitely captures its essence. It has to be one of the best values in a fresh scent out there. I’ll never not have this in my collection and it just may have become my summer work signature scent.

Icarus packs an orangey punch so bright, it should come with sunglasses! I have too many fragrances. I don't have enough shelf space. But this one had to be added. It's a stunning burst of orange & mandarin at the onset (top notes). Then a consummate mix of gingery, peppery, and orangey dry down (middle and base notes). It's a almost a 1:1 for a ~$400 bottle of Afternoon Swim for 1/10 of the price. At that point, it’s not a dupe, it’s a public servant! If you like well blended fruity perfumes, you will love it; I love it! Rayhaan has been on an absolute roll for me--Aura, Tiger, Tropical Vibe, and now Icarus. At this rate, I expect them to release a scent that literally makes you levitate next. I’m ready; I'll figure out the shelf space.

Juicy fresh orange, with a musky undertone to round it out. Brilliant stuff upon first impressions! Not too tart, not too sweet - it smells amazing straight out of the bottle. I picked it up because I've heard speak about it being a great Afternoon Swim interpretation and a stunning realistic orange scent. No lies there at all. The perfumer that made this has somehow achieved naturalistic smelling orange at such a budget price that puts other citrus fragrances to shame. It's so well done and deserves the praise. Presentation is excellent with that thick orange glass bottle with an impressively strong magnetic cap, great atomizer too. Adonis Icarus is an impressive release for both genders as it's just so bright and mass appealing.

So my review adter letting it sit for 4 months. It is blast of orange smell. It's amazing to my nose. So I wore this for a week to give a actual review. I loved it so much i bought two more. The guy saying leave it overnight on clothes is right. The after smell of letting it sit on clothes is weird. But I clean my clothes all the time and my laundry room is far away. Besides the day after smell it's honestly in my top ten and I own over 370 bottles of right now. I just think it's nice as a different scent from others. Also want to talk about longevity and loudness of it. For. Clothes day and half. For skin 7 to 8 hours. For loudness skin 3 hours for clothes all day. Hope that helps dont forget to lotion up.

It's already been said: this is a fresh, orange bomb--and I'm here for it! As a female, I LOVE the Afternoon Swim DNA. There's something about the freshness I enjoy. It's like stepping outside as a kid when the only thing you don't have is responsibility. This is maybe a bit more sweet, and lasts a LITTLE longer than the OG--but for the price it's a great choice. On me I can usually get around 3-4 hours before becoming a nice skin scent that hangs out another few hours so do with that information what you will. At this point it's all personal preference which inspiration you'll buy. But if you're on the fence about this and love the DNA, this is a very safe buy no doubt you'll enjoy.

Oh my god, I love this stuff. Around June, fragrance knowledge did a giveaway before this released, and I got to own it around 3 months before it released. This is VERY similar to afternoon swim, and has an opening of symphony with some heavy grapefruit. Projection is nice, and around 6 hours, became a skin scent. Mind this, I was swimming all day, but this stayed on my skin. I don't get the hate, this is a great fragrance.

Afternoon swim with meteore dry down this is what you get. Like squeezing oranges in the laundry. I think it’s definitely underrated compared to a lot of other rayhaans. Smells amazing and it’s my go to gym fragrance. Only down side is longevity isn’t really longer than 2-4 hours I would say. Besides that for the price I think it’s great. Update: I’ll be missing this fragrance as it’s being discontinued...

High energy orange Louis Vuitton Afternoon Swim clone. Sharp mandarin, orange, and bergamot takes on a gingery pink pepper and background neroli in the heart before settling into ambery musky vetiver; the orange never goes away. It's incredibly refreshing and I'm not bothered by the talk about how close or far away it is in terms of accuracy because it's simply enjoyable and that's enough.

Surprisingly an amazing smell. Compared to other citrus fragrances, this really hits hard, such a powerful and long lasting citrus. Given most citrusy and fruity fragrances are light and intimate, I was shocked to smell this radiating off of me many hours after applying. For the price, there's nothing that can compete with this. It's orange on orange on orange, but it does it so well

I got this during black Friday and man what a great scent. I’m getting rid of my bottle of Pisa and keeping this. It’s definitely like afternoon swim and I see why people say Eros energy because of the opening. It’s very citrusy for the first few minutes but in a good way. I’m letting this one sit until summer. Not to mature but to use when it’s hotter out. This will shine.

An amazing scent! Very similar to afternoon swim but the smell of fresh orange rind is stronger in this fragrance. Lasts a little longer than Afternoon Swim. In general even if it isn't 100% accurate, apart from the comparison this fragrance is amazing and very high quality and should be a no-brainer. What an addicting fragrance for $35

Smells like a freshly squeezed orange and lemon juice. Ive only had it for a day so cant comment on the longevity or projection, id assume the longevity isnt the greatest but it smells good enough to where it doesn't really matter to me. the value for money for this is mental, I paid 75 NZD (45 USD) which is cheap enough to spray heaps.

Certified banger, lovely sweet zesty. Dries down to a clean musky light neroli vetiver. Enjoying it alot. Very nice sillage and longevity for a freshie. Dont even mind reapplying if needed as the opening notes are addictive. Close to afternoon swim. Grab this for the summer 9/10

A very very photorealistic orange that's it. Last very long. Just pure orange. Like imagine the orange peel that's basically it. Linear but still amazing. For layering this will be unbelievable one of the best orange fragrances I've smelt beauty

I can see the Eros Energy comparison, more so than Afternoon Swim. It has a strong, effervescent orange note, and it's not as synthetic as I thought it would be. Solid performance (for a freshie). I've been impressed with Rayhaan lately.

Opens like realistic lemonade, and then dries down to a soapy orange candy. Smell:9.5/10 Performance: 6/10 Overall: 7.5/10

Exactly what i wanted when i bought this fragrance. Smells like oranges, and the performance actually surprised me.

To my nose, this is Eros Energy meets Flamango and it's fantastic. Very safe blind buy if you like either or both!

Grab yourself an orange from the produce section then peel the orange. Grab an orange rind/peel squeeze it then smell it. This is what this smells like. If you like oranges you'll love this one. Update later testing it out at work today.

Love the orange/nectar scent at the opening. Dries down to a powdery scent. Lasts maybe 5 hours on skin. Will be great for summer/gym

Not too bad, this comes across to me like a candied take on Afternoon Swim, very similar to one of those hard orange candies or even an orange Starburst, whereas the Louis Vuitton smells more like a super fancy orange smoothie in the best way possible (it actually reminded me of an Orange Julius for any SoCal peeps on here). Performance is pretty similar to the original (maybe 4-5 hours max) and you definitely need to overspray this to get somewhat decent longevity. Sits close to the skin with rather light sillage throughout the entire wear and that’s after over 15 sprays. But overall not bad for an inexpensive “inspired by” scent but I really can’t recommend it even at this low price point. It's pleasant enough but I would try out something else or just save up for the original (which is super refined and has this gorgeous and addictive musk in the drydown that this one lacks). You really got to love this scent profile anyway and personally I much prefer the Pacific Chill DNA which Rayhaan did a fantastic job with on their Pacific Aura release.

I get a massive blast of mandarin on the opening. Smells pretty accurate too, very juicy. As it dries down and for the majority of the wear, I get wafts of a fresh, candyish orange peel. Getting into the later hours, there's more of a tart, orange rind and slightly green scent and still very present to my nose. Only way I can describe the scent as a whole is "electric"... What ever that means? Seems to stick to my skin really well, has been very noticeable on my skin all day, sprayed on at 7:45am and still quite noticeable at 3pm and easily feels like I have another hour or 2 left in it. Definitely not filling a room but even later into the day, still very noticeable to me and anyone who is close by, definitely not a skin scent yet. I personally wouldn't wear this to the office, this is a weekend fragrance for me, suitable spring and summer, but I think it could work well in colder weather too. *Edit* - It's now 5pm and it's pretty much a skin scent now, but am getting a slight waft every so often.

Just as I've heard in reviews of both this clone and the original, it smells of orange/tangerine right from the opening. Imagine the essential oils you smell on your hands just after peeling a mandarin, mixed with the sweet scent of the fruit's juice. it leaves the skin nicely oily. After the opening, the fragrance turned spicier; I think it is probably the combo of pink pepper and ginger, it's a fresh spiciness, nothing heavy. Once that fades, it becomes like mandarin‐scented baby wipes. Unfortunately it didn't blow me away, but if you love sweet citrus, it'll drive you crazy. It does its 6 hours quite decently.

This one is very straightforward, if you want to smell like an orange, this is as good as it gets. Smells like a fresh orange in the opening and dries down to a very, very realistic orange peel... For a summer fragrance, there's plenty others to choose from in my opinion. If you're really into oranges, this is gonna be for you, if you're a casual orange consumer, I recommend we move along. Excellent bottle design though. Scent wise I rate this a 6/10 - performance on this is gonna be 2 hours of projection max and skin scent for another 6 hours.

Lovely summer fragrance. Only projects for about an hour and a half and is a skin scent in about 3 hours but it only costs 24 sheets. Carry a small atomiser and reapply after a few hours and smell lovely all day cause at that price it really don't matter how much you use.

Simple scent that just smells good. Sometimes you just want an uncomplicated orange freshie. Good choice for layering because of its simple and inoffensive profile.

Got it for christmas. It initially smelled 1/1 of Afternoon swim - juicy oranges. But over time, I noticed that there was a bit of a synthetic note in it when paired side-by-side. Also, the dry down smells like cheap sports deodorant. They messed up badly adding in neroli, musk, and vetiver, when Afternoon Swim has none of that. Still great when macerated, but stronger, and slightly more synthetic, and worse dry down. Not bad, but there are fragrances twice as good as these if you save an extra $40(this was $45). It's okay if you want to smell like Oranges and don't want to pay $350. 6.5/10.

Unfortunately, my opinion has changed on this, and not for the better. The opening is a delicious burst of orange citrus rind but good lord that dry down is one of the worst musks I’ve ever smelled! I implore anyone with this fragrance to try spraying a shirt with it 5 times, leave the shirt in your closet for a day, then come back and tell me that doesn’t smell awful.

#1687 in my “Tour de Fragrance” I had previously blind bought fourteen Rayhaan scents and was content with all but one, "Royal Wood”, which was neither royal nor all that woody. I pulled the trigger on this one because of a 24% discount coupon. My mistake. If I had tried this out at a fragrance counter no way I would actually purchase it. Kind of a combo of candle wax and that cheap citric stuff the low end car wash guys spray on their cleaning rags. Or more like what they sprayed on their cleaning rags a couple of days ago. Seriously. There is absolutely nothing to commend this. It’s weak, indistinct, unattractive, like a Cuba Paris $9.99 scent. If it were offensive at least that would be something. I will never wear this. I’ll shelve it for a couple of months, but unless it improves dramatically it’s going into the dumpster. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

The opening is really nice, but the drydown (after like five minutes) smells like animals' piss at the zoo. So disappointing ...

Smells Horrendous, gave it away after 2 weeks of testing, couldn't like it ! The hype is fake

The scent is very similar to miranda and fanta freshie sweet and fizzy, not spicy. It’s comparable to turathi blue and bvlgari tiger. Its performance is average it lasts about 4 hours in summer before fading into the skin. Immediately after spraying, it has around 1.5 hours of noticeable projection, and the scent trail is better than LV afternoon swim. While the overall quality isn’t as high as lv, bvlgari considering the low price, it’s a good value. At this price point, it’s best not to compare it with high-end perfumes

Yikes, anyone else feel like this is more lemon than orange? Not what it's supposed to be copying at all. And the musk in the dry down seems unpleasant and cheap. It's not terrible, but it's disappointing to me and a rare Rayhaan miss.

85% dupe. Watered down, not as smooth, worth the price. I sold it because I already have North stag quatre and I think it's slept on, it's just as good as this. It's a little sweeter but it's same quality

Between afternoon swim and eros energy but cheaper. Not a hidden gem. Try it, maybe it does the job
