Cordova

#1397 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I bought my first Rayhaan scent, "Elixir", a year ago and was impressed with the composition, the quality, the $19 price tag and how much it came off like JPG "Le Male Elixir" minus all the honey, which actually made it more likeable for me. Picked up "Pacific" a few months ago, $20 on Amazon. It was quite close to Louis Vuitton "Pacific Chill", a nice scent, but not among my "must haves." Still, it was pretty nice, and also an excellent quality scent. Now I've determined to try them all. This "Cordova" is a superior leather scent. So many scents that otherwise have most of these same notes, from Halston's classic "Z-14" to the more modern Gucci "Guilty Absolute" (this is NOT a clone of "Guilty Absolute". It's better), all take away from that "saddle shop leather" experience I crave by tossing in citrus or other fruits. This doesn't do that, but it does have a nice, potent cypress note that makes so many scents attractive to me: Penhaligon "Halfeti", Gucci "Guilty Absolute", Widian "London", Crivelli's "Iris Malikhan." Too many to bore you with here. This may well become my favorite leather scent of them all. This is masculine, business or pleasure versatile, year round wear. I think anyone that smells it (and the sillage is excellent) will love it. A five star blind buy for me.

WOW, WOW, WOW. This is a good one. This is one blind buy that has definitely made up for many others. The perfume creates a clean and solid masculine presence. It doesn't open very loud but damn! It's ever so present for the rest of the day. And in the evenings? Simply solid. I will be getting a backup bottle for sure.

This is so beastly I'm afraid the leather scent will remain forever in my skin and some cowboy will try to skin me. Scent profile is interesting enough to make me want to keep testing/enjoying during the next 5 months of cold season. Will keep updating as I do. Update 10/26/2025 - I sprayed a bit (2-3 sprays) to a spot on a faux leather chair I have that I like to spray leather scents to test their effect/aroma 10 days ago... Cordova is so beastly that I can still smell it on the spot where I sprayed - and I wipe the spot after spraying to avoid too much residue/alcohol to remain there and cause damage to the surface. Performance is really that impressive. Update 11/16/2025 - 1 month and I can still smell a faint "skin" (surface) scent on the chair. I kid you not, be careful with this beast.

I have had this fragrance for over a year and I really enjoy it, but it’s a polarizing scent apparently. It’s just very strong and isn’t something you can daily. It’s a dark, realistic leather scent that reminds me of an old school leather store in mall with a hint of doctor’s office. I recently bought some of the banadir samples which included #50, their version of LV Ombré Nomade. The 50 smells very close to Cordova. As this surprised me and I didn’t know what the LV smelled like, I ordered an Ombré Nomade sample. In comparison, I can safely say that Cordova is a ON dupe and it is extremely close. The banadir is much stronger than the LV (both are great scents IMO), Cordova is a little more subtle than that but still a little bit stronger than the LV.

Cordova by Rayhaan, from my honest perspective, is an overwhelmingly powerful fragrance, a true beast mode scent that commands attention with its bold and intense aroma. However, it is important to note that this particular fragrance may not appeal to everyone, as it possesses a unique olfactory profile that could be polarizing. It's certainly not a fragrance that you should purchase without sampling it first; it's definitely not a safe blind buy. I just received my bottle and am experiencing a myriad of mixed reactions, which range from fascination to hesitation. I'll need to let it settle and observe its evolution over time before forming a definitive opinion.

Rayhaan is becoming one of my favourite houses. They put out stellar releases that hit way above their price point in terms of scent and longevity. Cordova is my first leather fragrance. When I first tried it, I was a little put off as I hadn't smelt anything quite like it before. Now, however, I think it's fantastic. It's very masculine and literally smells like I'm standing in the middle of a leather shop. Lasts and projects for hours (it honestly doesn't let up - I'm talking over 12 hours here). Not my favourite from Rayhaan but it's different and I'm happy to have it in my collection.

I agree with @JusttheFactsMan that Cordova is an extremely approachable leather fragrance. The amber note comes across quite vanillic in the opening. It's worth bearing in mind my bottle is brand new, so this effect may change with maturation. Despite the similarity of the scent profiles, this is very different from Gucci Guilty Absolute. Cordova is clean and restrained with the vanilla aspect pulling it back toward unisex. GGA is much more aggressive, with sharper cypress than Cordova and a note of industrial solvent like a leather jacket that's been wiped down with engine degreaser.

4.5/10 From a decant from Decantbox: In the compendium of sub-$40 leather fragrances, there are other, better choices out there that provide a stronger, more complete experience. Upon spraying, Cordova has straight leather notes that verge on suade, then quickly dry down to a steady, lightly woody, barely perceptably sour note that I can't quite attribute to any of the listed notes. I'm glad I didn't blind buy it. For less than $20 USD you can get Zimaya Ghayath, an exquisite leather fragrance that adds oud and floral notes that just crush Cordova in complexity and quality.

Rayhaan Cordova is a smooth and comforting fragrance that feels warm and effortlessly cozy. The opening is inviting with soft, sweet notes that blend beautifully into a rich, creamy heart. As it develops, gentle woods and subtle spices create a refined and elegant base that stays close to the skin yet still noticeable. It’s an easy-to-wear scent that works wonderfully in cooler weather or relaxed evenings. This is a fragrance I really enjoy wearing and one that I truly love for its warm, comforting vibe.

The obvious is, this is no Gucci Absolute!!! Not even as good as Musamam. Btw, this is not an authentic leather smell. An authentic leather like Mercedes Le Parfum while boring is much closer to a leather jacket of “decent” quality. This is More like a cheap Chinese interpretation of leather. Pleather. Plasticy or rubbery type leather. A previous reviewer mentioned LV Ombré Nomad, which is true if he is referring to the garbage that Jean Lowe put out. I know this fragrance thing is subjective and opinion based but wtf!!!

The top note I got from this seems to be more of leather, has good longevity also, but has a very strange synthetic smell. It's just weird.

I heard great things about this, but I honestly hated it. Smelled like petroleum jelly/lipstick. Would not recommend.

At this point, I’m pretty much repeating what everybody else is saying about Cordova. It’s easily one of the strongest fragrances from Rayhaan, and point-blank—it’s not for everybody. You have to like leather. You have to like that slightly medical, almost hospital-type smell. The good thing is it’s not overly smoky, which I appreciate. As someone who’s recently been diving more into leather fragrances, this is definitely up my alley. I picked mine up from one of my local mom-and-pop shops here in Houston that specializes in Middle Eastern fragrances—honestly, they’re one of the biggest distributors in the city, especially at discounted prices. This is a really good fragrance if you truly love leather, because the leather is front and center. If you’re looking for something sweet, this is not it. It leans more leather and chocolate-like, probably from the patchouli. But if you want something different, this is absolutely worth checking out. My honest suggestion: do not spray this on clothes. You’ll easily get 7–8 hours on skin. On clothes, this will survive multiple washes—so just keep that in mind.

So i just received my bottle, i was expecting more similarity to GGA which @ekt described perfectly. I'm getting rosy leather i guess, this is first sniff so tomorrow maybe i'll sense other notes and like it more. Will post an update. Update: Not a GGA clone but its nice and after a few hours it becomes even more pleasant. Longevity on clothes - days.

at first it really smells like a hospital in my country very pungent like a punch to your head. never wear this in heat no one can bear its smell in heat.in winter id say i get the vision.i got used to it after some time i can smell a little sweet its really good in cloudy cool days though im not sure most people like it

Hello everyone. I sold many middle east perfume but I never came across such perfume like Cordova, so powerful, long lasting for days on clothes, out perform easily any niche perfume. The leathery scent is so different, so unique. Wow.....!!!

This is very niche quality and outperforms most leather fragrances out there...very very strong and long lasting... love on the first smell🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
