Dark Leather

I've never smelled Irish Leather, but this smells like how I would imagine English Leather to smell had I not actually smelled it(English Leather is weak). This is a very dark, leathery, green, powdery, and woody scent with just a hint of sweetness. It almost smells like it has a bit of citrus in the top, but that could be the greens playing tricks on my nose. It has excellent longevity and decent projection if you spray enough on. This to me is a very classic masculine leather woody fragrance. It also has a bit of class, and sophistication. Honestly with the powdery iris in this ,and the touch of sweetness it has from the amber and tonka it kind of reminds me of Dior Homme. If Dior Homme was made in the 60's-80's it may have smelled like this. Rayhaan Dark Leather is criminally overlooked, and should be a must own for anyone who's a fan of dark woody leather scents, or old school, or powerhouse fans in general.

#1418 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I knew when I smelled this it was not remotely a clone of Memo "Irish Leather", but I recognized that nuclear birch note from another Memo scent: "Irish Oud", and a Signature scent "Sapphire." Sapphire is sweeter, but this scent is damn near identical to "Irish Oud." Way more woody than it is leathery, and I do mean woody as a pencil sharpener (That's why some are smelling Afnan "Rare Carbon.") And just as I love "Irish Oud" and "Sapphire", I love this, and I really love that the price is 10% the price of Memo "Irish Oud" and even $20 cheaper than "Sapphire." This is a 100% masculine fragrance. All day potency and hours of sillage. Great scent, great bargain.

You get what you see in terms of the name. This is definitely a leather forward fragrance. It's super sharp and I can see why some people say this reminds them of pencil shavings. I'm thinking more of a Ticonderoga #2, the black one. I have never smelled Memo Irish Oud, so I can't compare, however I have a decant of Memo French Leather and there definitely are some simalarites. I'd say French Leather is more unisex, with some raspberry suede in the dry down. Rayhaan Dark Leather is entirely a masculine scent. Surely not for everyone, but for me, this is a solid 7/10.

Sorry but this stuff is rough. I love leather scents but this is just not for me.
