Wood Noir

You could say this is a slightly spicier version of Oud Wood. Projection and longevity after my first wear isn't fantastic (I hope it improves over time), but still worth what you will pay for Wood Noir. A very good twist on the DNA. If you like Oud wood, it's worth adding to your collection.

Decently close to TF Oud Wood, would say around 85% personally. The differences arent much, but this fragrance does feel like it's lacking something, and isn't has deep as the OG. Unfortunately I owned this for less than a full day before the neck of the atomiser started leaking. As someone who dislikes clones that copy the OG bottles' design, the next TF Oud Wood dupe I will try is "Afnan Oud Rising".

#1422 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I picked up Tom Ford "Oud Wood" very early in this journey. It was my 117th in this process, June 4, 2023, where I am now at 1421. I was unhappy with both the scent's potency and price, really with the price I paid for juice that wasn't that good quality. Eventually I found fifteen Tom Ford's worth owning, eight Tom Ford's not worth owning, and was on the fence about Oud Wood. Now having experienced dozens and dozens of oudy-woody scents and several Oud Wood clones, I would put the original in the "not worth the money" column, especially with all the available cheap clones that definitely are worth their low price, like Lataffa "Qaa'ed", Maison Alhambra "Woody Oud", Milton-Lloyd "No 10 Mojo." This Rayhaan is not a bad scent but it is very moderate, and I like my woody-oudy scents stronger than this. So I guess you can say I find this more or less equivalent to Oud Wood, but I am also not as enthusiastic about that as some will be. It's at least is not as synthetic as the other clones, but also a bit weaker. So a trade-off there. This is moderate, so no worry about wearing it in close spaces. No one will be overwhelmed. It's intimate distance projection pretty quickly. I don't really think it's worth your money.

I have not smelt the original Tom Ford Oud Wood so I cant compare these two, but this smell is divisive for sure. Not everyone will like it. Something is overdone in this, I cant pinpoint what it is, but that makes the perfume really sharp for about the first hour (im guessing its the spices on the top). Definitely try a decant if you are even 1% doubtful if this is to your taste or not, its a hundred percent not blind buy safe. Overall i would say my feelings are mixed on this one

To be frank, it kind of resembles Oud Wood and scent is in a similar category, but it just is not Oud Wood - it misses the Oud part and is focusing more on the Wood and Cardamom part and the Oud in Oud Wood gives it the character and edge IMHO. So good fragrance with moderate performance that tries to resemble Oud Wood, but does not do a great job at that.
