Cereza

Cerez is one of RDZ Parfums’ four releases this spring, off of a sample from Perfumology, and it is, as its Spanish name suggests, a cherry-focused fragrance, and it is quite richly so. It’s a little sweet but not outright sugary or dessert-like, it’s a bit boozy but not an outright imitation of a cocktail, and has contributing notes of plum, almond, rose, and saffron that complement the main cherry note quite well while still allowing it to be main aspect of the scent from opening to dry down. Overall, it’s definitely a bit more tart, fresh, and floral in the opening, and is sweeter and smoother and boozier in the dry down. For comparison, it’s not quite as tart or fresh as Hilde Soliani Una Tira L’Altra and it’s not quite the boozy, resinous experiment that is Tom Ford Lost Cherry, but it has fresh and boozy and realistic elements that keep it quite interesting. Cereza, as with the other new releases, is priced at $160 for 100ml in extrait concentration, very reasonable in the current market, especially considering the quality and performance.
