Philly Blunt

I visited Perfumology this past weekend and sampled pretty much the entire RDZ catalogue save for P FKN R and settled on this as my personal favorite from the brand. Strong and earthy tobacco scent on the top end backed up by patchouli giving it this dark, grassy opening. Dries down into a sweet, smooth, and dark tobacco skin scent after the initial hour and a half on my skin with a pleasant spice from the coffee and cardamom lingering throughout. The note breakdown on this site confuses me as I don't pick up any bergamot, raspberry, or oud. I don't feel any citrus or fruitiness from this scent at all and the fact these notes are present confuses me on how they even popped up on the page in the first place? Regardless of the weird note breakdown on Fragrantica, this scent is a phenomenal evening scent and will be a great all-rounder in cooler weather. Gonna try and stretch as much use from this during the springtime because this scent is a fantastic tobacco with incredible projection and performance!

Philly Blunt, one of RDZ Parfums’ recent spring releases, part of a quartet that dropped in April, and fittingly a tobacco-led blend inspired by the cigars of the same name. It features a dense tobacco note that’s a bit fresh, smoky, and sweet, against a backdrop of coffee, vanilla, and spices, something akin to cloves that really darken the mix while still keeping the tobacco front-and-center. I think that fans of tobacco fragrances will connect with this, particularly if they’re looking for something that’s not too sweet, as there are plenty of examples of sweet tobacco fragrances out there, some of which I love. Philly Blunt achieves a very wearable smoothness in balancing out the different elements, as it’s never heady or overly sweet or too dark, but it has a bit of each of those elements. Certainly I’d recommend that everyone check it out. Philly Blunt is priced at $160 for 100ml in extrait concentration, very reasonable given the quality and performance, with RDZ being one of the best-priced niche brands under $2/ml, sold at Perfumology and the house website. 7 out of 10

This fragrance gets its inspiration from the iconic Phillies Blunt, both the name of a cigar and its company that began in Philadelphia in 1910. And the scent certainly lives up to its name. This is for all the tobacco lovers. It’s a rich, sweet, tobacco fragrance. I get the spices, the coffee, and the vanilla and woods base, but throughout the tobacco dominates and I love it. This will absolutely be a staple in the cold weather months. It’s unisex and has good longevity.

I'm very confused ppl.. landshark and belle gave this scent a great review.. yet it's coming in at a 2.5 out of 5???.. so one of you gave it at 2 and the other a three???
