Lost in Dusk

This must be my absolute favourite scent, period (and I am very picky with scents). It's not too woody, more resinous and warm than anything. I find that some amber and warm spicy scents can be suffocating, but not this one. Because Recreation is a natural fragrance brand, this scent is also clean and refreshing, which could also be attributed to the faintest coffee and balsamic elements that it carries. It's perfectly spicy with a hint of sweetness, but not enough to make it juvenile, like some scents can be if they incorporate vanilla and fruity elements. I actually find it to be a fairly sensual fragrance and I certainly get the most compliments when I wear this scent compared to other perfumes in my modest collection. My mom hates vanilla scents but loves this one, she always compliments me when I wear it! I feel like it's worth the price, it lasts all day and lingers on my clothes afterwards. The sillage is fairly moderate, but I actually appreciate this as I personally find anything more to be too much and, again, suffocating. It's somewhat similar to "Whiskey, 1969" by Thin Wild Mercury, but I love this one way more because the scents by Thin Wild Mercury give me a headache, which sucks because I love "Laurel Canyon, 1966" :( (I'm on the hunt for a more natural dupe!). If you're a fan of amber and warm spicy scents, this one won't let you down!

So happy to find this one, Im always looking for clean, cruelty free perfumes but find most of them are nice although not "WOW". I imagine this as a cocktail with vanilla, rose and a high end liqueur, all shook up and unleashed as a very sexy, warm fragance. I also have At night we Dance, which I love, but this one has the Mmmm factor. I love the smell and cant stop sniffing myself, which Im guessing looks very odd! And yes, Ive had compliments when wearing it. :)

This gorgeous ambery vanilla is dead set sex in a bottle. It’s sticky, warm and garners compliments galore. Reminds me very much of Ambre Aurea by Profumum Roma which costs a hell of a lot more and I like this one equally if not more. I don’t detect bergamot or narcissus at all but when it smells this great, I don’t need to dissect it.

This is beautiful. It’s similar to TF Vanilla fatale but less sharp to my nose & smells better in my opinion. It’s boozy, slightly fruity. Hint of spice A little resinous. Not too woody. If you enjoy Vanilla Fatale or the Original Micalef Note Vanille might like this. The best scent from this brand

Recreation's scents are not overly expensive but for the price they give good value. Lost in Dusk is a warm spicy woody scent that keeps surprising me with the notes that come forth as they settle on the skin. There's vanilla in there, but its at the back. I smell cinnamon and sandalwood, chocolate, coffee, boozy notes. Its a great cuddle under a blanket perfume. My only problem is that Im used to the longevity of other perfumes and found it needed to be refreshed after a couple of hours, which Im not used to.

I strongly believe all positive reviewers are lying. Every single fragrance from this brand is horrible or horribly basic. They are fueled by advertising only.

MISLEADING-NOT NATURAL. I was excited to support a natural perfume brand and ordered the discovery set. They generally smell like what you'd expect from any commercial perfume brand and they're not bad. However, all the marketing gear the consumer up for some absolutely gorgeous natural botanical fragrances, and what a serious let down it was when I could smell copious amounts of synthetic materials. I'm not against synthetics (if biodegradable ones), these fragrances are just not like the way the marketing suggests! The ingredient lists all the botanical names of plants supposedly in the fragrance, which would make you think the whole thing is natural. Unfortunately this is simply NOT TRUE. Most consumers just wouldn't have any idea what a genuinely natural perfume smells like and can only go by the marketing/ ingredient list from the brand. Unfortunately for the trained nose, it is quite obvious that these are not natural fragrances, they may have some naturals in there but the majority of these formulas are made up by a back bone structure of synthetics. The fragrance price of these also does not reflect a genuine natural fragrance, the price of such precious naturals is astronomical! Furthermore, some of the naturals stated in the other fragrances, such as gardenia are actually impossible to obtain at a commercial level. Genuine vanilla is an incredibly expensive material to work with in natural perfumery and is almost always substituted with vanillin which can be natural so I would suspect this has been used and not Tahitian vanilla tincture or absolute- that's only a guess but highly likely. My pet-hate is lack of transparency, why avoid misleading customers by listing only the botanical names in the ingredient list. Where it says blend of 'nature-identicals' this is a whole heap of synthetics! Honesty is my policy and it's obvious that this brand does not match that same ethos. This brand ruins it for truly natural brands out there trying to do good things.

Why oh why must the dry down betray me 🫠 So at first spray this was like sparkling spice cherry Vanilla Coke and every time I wore it someone would say “oh that does smell like cherry Coke” And that’s great I love that ! As always scents connect me to memories when I was a child I had a scented ceramic pig that was so girly and adorable and it was one of the ones you place in your cupboard to make the clothes smell nice , the middle smells just like that I kept smelling it and wondering what it reminded me of and then I went right back to being 5 years old ! I even recently purchased one of those pigs again on eBay for some nostalgia . But here is the let down , the dry down awful like someone hasn’t washed in a bit and I don’t understand how this beautiful nostalgic scent turns into unwashed old lady . My boyfriend’s reaction to the dry down was “blerg that has so many things going on at once it’s not nice “ So there you have it , it’s lost in dusk and then when I wear it after a few hours I become lost in Must ... sad face This is #6 of my 114 perfumes I’m trying to use before buying anymore

I love this. Warm, spicy, also fruity (the description mentions "plum", and it's exactly that, but kind of a warm plum marmalade, spiced well and cooked right down). This might put some people off, but it also reminds me, indirectly, of Tabu. Lost in Dusk is more subtle and generally better than Tabu, but something about the warm/spicy/amber notes connects them. Tabu was my grandmother's favourite perfume, and the warmth of this one reminds me of her in a nice way.

Like a warm, scrumptious beverage to drink in a mountain lodge with snow outside. Sweet, spicy, cuddly, delicious. Does not last as long as some made with chemical ingredients. Amber is often flat out toxic to me but I don’t have a problem with this, leading to an ah ha moment: maybe it’s just artificial amber that makes me feel ill. Good to know. A big recommend for cool weather.
