Green Vanille

Green Vanille is exquisite! The “green” in Green Vanille comes from chamomile (blue chamomile on the RdF website) and Haitian vetiver, which is sweeter, greener, and woodier than its Indonesian counterpart, which is darker, earthier, and leathery. Don’t expect any chlorophillic verdancy, like from Jade Vines. The green here is on the drier, herbal, and woody spectrum. The opening of Green Vanille is slightly waxy and medicinal like Carmex. Which is immediately softened by the hazy herbal quality of blue chamomile (reminding me of my favorite Modern Muse Nuit) and creamy nuttiness of hazelnut and almond. As Green Vanille warms on the skin it takes on a more amber feel. I was reminded of a softened version of Grand Soir. The benzoin, vetiver, and cedar start to shine both cedar and benzoin emitting a camphorus quality circling back to Green Vanille’s medicinal openings. People who love resins, sticky ambers, and herbal will enjoy this quality. Green Vanille hovers above my skin which is a plus, I dislike having to find my fragrances. I am in love with this. Absolutely FB worthy for me!

When I first smelled Green Vanille, it was blind. I did not know the fragrance's name, but I guessed it in my description. I told her it smelled like vanilla, but the full orchid, not what we use for cooking. The green-ness of the leaves and stems as well as the fragrance that we distill into Vanilla. Wearing it, there is also a milky quality, gentle woods. I don't typically like vanilla fragrances, they are often too saccharine, but this was incredible. All the warmth and magic of a vanilla orchid at home in the jungle, embedded in green leaves of the plant, climbing up the wood of host trees. The milky quality simulates how it feels when a floral scent floats through the humidity of a pristine rainforest. I got the Fait Main when it first came out, and am delighted it entered the full line. I plan to buy a full bottle when I run out.

This is STUNNING! Aromatic, spicy, witchy vanilla. This is what I was hoping Coven smelled liked when people said it had an undercurrent of vanilla. With that fragrance I got zero vanilla warmth just cold grass. This is dry but warm, spicy yet sweet. I bought a full bottle immediately upon trying a sample. This is a witches brew, her apothecary, the smell of her skin and hair after creating a concoction of tinctures for love, health and wealth. I’ve tried essentially everything that RDF has to offer and I liked quite a few. I was pretty dead set on Fluer Eclair until I smelled Green Vanille. Since the price is steep I was only willing to buy one atm. And this one made my heart skip a beat. 10/10

I believe you've got to be an appreciator of aromatics and herbal spicy to like this one. Absolutely unisex, but I'll give that the initial opening comes off pretty masculine since the coriander/cedar is really blasting off the top. After 30 minutes to an hour, the initial spiciness and wood notes have tamed, and the creamy nuttiness begins to come through. I can also get the herbal chamomile rounding things out. My short description at this point would be a green vanilla chai. I've saved wearing this for cooler weather, and I'm happy I did so. This one is perfect for fall and the summer crossover I saved it for. Certainly feels a bit witchy, and I love it! A dark witchy spiced vanilla. 🌿

This is not a Gourmand!...despite the notes that SOUND edible, there is no sweetness at all. And MY GOODNESS, am I delighted by this lovely, aromatic and spicy gem! The minute it hit my skin, this was a WOW. INSTANT love..the spiciness, the nutty warmth, the vetiver that beckons, wrapping it's tendrils around my heart... Truly unisex. And beautiful. Despite the average performance, it has captured me... I must own it. Because it owns me now... This almost NEVER happens but I'm helpless to resist it. Goodbye, budget. Goodbye, common sense. Hello, my precious Green Vanille --carry me away into transient poverty while I drift in clouds of aromatic, spicy delight. Ahh...

This baby is incredible, I mean it. It's the loveliest green offset with a creamy almond note that grounds it so nicely. I agree with a few reviews left before that mentioned that it's like almond milk and an unripe banana turned up, but without any of the banana scent. Just the green-ness of it. Definitely not a gourmand in the classic sense. Price wise... it's steep! I can justify her for how much I adore this scent, but I don't think I'll be purchasing a perfume at this price point for a while 😅 Perfect for spring and I think it'll be gorgeous in the fall!

OK this is a great scent with a bad name. There's vanilla, thank god, but it's not exactly green in any sense of the word. No cut flower stems, no eucalyptus, maybe a little bit herby but it's more rooty/earthy and nutty. Reminiscent of ungrated nutmeg, or a pile of hazelnut shells, even a chaga mushroom. You can definitely read chamomile in it, but I don't know if I would have picked it out if I wasn't influenced by the note breakdown. This is a really gorgeous scent that brings my mind into the garden without feeling flowery.

Wow! As someone who can get migraines from sweet scents, finding a vanilla fragrance that works for me has always been a challenge. After testing dozens, Warm Bulb by Clue was the only vanilla that worked with my skin chemistry until now! Green Vanille has a beautiful balance of softness, nuttiness, and herbal nuances while still maintaining the essence of true vanilla. Definitely full bottle worthy imo

It’s just lovely - a top tier example of photorealism in perfumery. I’m really jazzed about this. The top is woody and nutty; there’s a green and photorealistic floral that reminds me of orchid or jasmine in clean earth. The almond milk and chamomile are 100% perceptible in this, I really love it. Resinous vanilla is warm at the heart, and sandalwood (I’m getting javanol) lingers for hours.

Like others have noted, name is misleading. A really strong blast of vanilla and alcohol when first sprayed, exactly like vanilla extract. Found it increasingly addictive as it mellowed out. I'm not getting 'green' at all. There's definitely an earthiness, but it's spicy and sweet, rich and warm, slightly more masculine than most vanillas I've smelled. Really delicious.

Is this house capable of making a bad fragrance? This is glorious. This is not your average vanilla. This is an aromatic, lightly spicy, slightly nutty, savory vanilla, unfurling from an invigoratingly fresh start into a warm, resinous end. I love her and she must be mine.

This smells like aromatic spa heaven. It is absolutley gorgeous. It is both warm and refreshing at once. The chamomille, vanilla and vetiver is coming out strong on my skin whilst the other notes goes back and forth in the backgeound. It is perfection.

Smells like a forehead kiss from someone who loves you very much. Being sick and babied, carried to bed after falling asleep. Vicks vapor rub and A cup of chamomile tea placed on your bedside. I nearly sobbed when I smelled this . Love

If you love vanilla but don't want to smell like dessert, this is your girl. A spicy, completely unisex take on something that has otherwise been done to death. A unique and comforting combination of notes. Absolutely stunning.

This is what 50 other brands have tried, and failed, to do in the past year; an off-beat, wearable, true-to-its'-name, take on the traditional vanilla perfume. You can actually feel her reverence for the artform in this one.

I literally can't stop smelling this on my wrist, it's kind of addicting. I'm still searching for my "summer vanilla" scent (whatever that ends up meaning) but I think this could be THE spring/fall vanilla for me

Sweet nutty vanilla-rich herbal almond milk opening, settles into a lightly wooded candied benzoin within the next couple hours. The benzoin really shines in this.

I fear I made need this in a full bottle...or at least a larger sample. There is something so nostalgic about this that I can't quite put my finger on. It is very cozy and sweet. Definitely a gourmand with the perfect mix of green and woodiness. It's got a bit of an edible quality to the sweetness. I can see this being a bit too cloying in heat and for that reason I really don't think this is a warm weather perfume. I'm excited to try this in the cooler months. I think this would layer absolutely beautifully with other vanilla or woody perfumes. EDIT: after wearing the sample a few times, I’m actually having a hard time finding those original sweet notes. Coming across quite cologney to me now 🧐 might get another small decant of it to try again. But weird that it changed!

The chamomile comes roaring out of the bottle in Green Vanille, giving the fragrance a spicy and aromatically, aggressively green start. It is very green, very spicy, very fresh, and also has a lemony twist with just a hint of floor cleaner. Green Vanille definitely has an eye opening, refreshingly different start. My favorite part comes within about an hour on skin, when the more aggressively green top notes have died down a little, but the spiciness remains, augmented by a touch of balsamic resins coming in. After a while that balsamicness takes over, and the fragrance becomes an ambery balsamic scent with just a hint of spice. Lasts about 6 hours on skin with decent sillage. This perfume is really fun to wear, its got so much contrast that it’s never boring.

While in Bologna, I stopped by Virginia1921 where I came across the Régime des Fleurs line for the first time. I liked the Green Vanilla so much that I sprayed some on my skin and left. It reminded me of By Kilian’s now-discontinued 'Amber Oud', so I went back after 2 hours and bought a 10 ml bottle. Too expensive for what it is, but I felt so special while Amber Oud was on my skin. This is so close to it, so I'm happy to throw in 70 Euros. Wife loves this on me. The only thing that disappoints me is the lack of sillage and the weak projection. Side note; just gets a bit too sweet on the drydown, so I don't think, as reviews suggest, this is suitable for summer. Benzoin is the star here, not vanilla.

Heavy vanillin Amber that’s tinged green/vibrant stems. Ambers like this can feel slightly dusty when they’re dry versus sweet (Histoires de Parfums’ Amber 114 for example), but not annoyingly so. There’s a little bit of a baby doll vibe but I’d call it fairly unisex especially for males who have grown accustomed to sweeter resins. It would be a perfectly safe work and public fragrance that will garner lots of compliments in an elevator or metro.

8/10 Smells like the renaissance festival with a hint of sweet grass and hay. Also the way it settled on my skin it almost had a bit of a cinnamon vibe? Or just baking spices in general, which was surprising! I will say I was expecting more of a fresh greenery, but not disappointed. Overall very pleasing!

Initial impression was creamy sweet warm hay. Then eating biscuits with tea in the backyard in summer. It’s subtly sweet, green (the chamomile reads more cozy tea like and less medicinal because I’m a chamomile tea lover) warm in a sunny way, and woody. 4/5🌞🍃🪿

A deep, spicy, warm vanilla: waxy carmex chapstick, cedar sauna, sweet craft rootbeer; less green or fresh than I expected. Or, any green association comes from it feeling a little piney, herbal, and slightly masculine-leaning. I like it :)

Now this right here, ladies and gentlemen, this is a work of art! Herbal non-gourmand vanilla and the only perfume that remotely compares to Eau Duelle by Diptyque.

Interesting juxtaposition of dark vanilla and soft green leaves. Dry down is like grainy, sugary icing that was flavored with sap. 😎

Here is my vastly unvarnished take as someone who hasn't seen much reviews of similar opinion. Green Vanille sounds maybe just like your ideal jungle of lush nature-tinged sweetness, but on my skin it veers sharply into the arid and the acrid. At first, green hazelnut and almond milk whisper of verdant ambrosia—no sugarcoating, indeed—but almost immediately, this most raw, rough blue chamomile’s coumarin-laced bite emerges, more herbal tonic than soothing balm. Vanilla entwined with coriander and benzoin Siam, the notes read. A warm embrace unfurling on your skin? NAHHH. Instead, it smothers in this oriental resinous benzoin, its benzoic acids tipping the accord toward an incense-y darkness that smells less edible and more like an overburnt oud blend. Where's my creamy lactone of almond milk? Buried beneath a camphorous, almost medicinal swirl, smothered and smothered again. The woody base of Atlas cedar and sandalwood combine into an earth so dry it’s practically dust, pretty for a silky smooth gourmand, not so much in this. Here it merely adds to the brown, stale greenness that lingers like stale tea leaves forgotten in a cup. Vanilla where? Green Vanille a field of withered vines, a stifling, “green” vanilla that insists on its wildness but never offers delight. Not a tad green, not a tad vanille, and definitely not a tad bit blind-buy safe.

Initially, this perfume smelled like a generic masculine-woody scent to me. I almost exclusively smelled a heavy cedar wood and coriander. This combination read very smokey, spicy and one-toned on my skin. I knew when I got a sample of this scent that it wouldn't likely be something I would enjoy considering I don't typically like woody scents. However, after sitting on my skin for a few minutes, it started to smell more complex and light. While the coriander stays pretty prevalent throughout, there is some gentile sweetness that comes in through the top notes and vanilla. Post dry-down, I actually find this scent to be pretty enjoyable, although it isn't something I might typically reach for. To me, this scent evokes a pacific-northwest late fall/winter surrounded by a beautiful and dense mysterious forest. Also some vague childhood memories of Christmas parties with the scent of the adult's hot buttered rum mingling with the smell of a Christmas tree.

I've been testing it out. It begins the way "vanilla orchid" smells, if anybody remembers the original Addict. I think the intention here was a scent like the orchid flower rather than the dried vanilla made into a dessert, which is what makes it a "green" vanilla. But I don't smell anything denoted by the pyramid except vanilla and perhaps woods because sometimes it smells like incense. It's not nutty. I don't notice any coriander or chamomile at all. I get something more like cinnamon, and this spicy quality persists and intensifies to the point where it goes into home fragrance territory instead of a perfume I would want to wear. So all that being said, it is a nice scent that starts out like a vanilla orchid in a hothouse, but then it flattens into a boring vanilla spice candle. I think $300 is too much. I'm sure the materials are great, but I wanted more out of this and wanted it to smell like it was $300 too.

I thought I was going to love this based on the notes. When I initially sprayed it, I had high hopes, and they quickly abandoned me. The vanilla is noticeable immediately, then spicy wood and an herbal freshness. I thought it was beautiful, and then it wore me down. The benzoin, which I normally like, nagged at me throughout the day. Unbalanced. I noticed that this reminded me of something that was a bit nostalgic. In my mind I was transported to my late grandparents' house and hugging my grandpa. Maybe his soap and aftershave? Yes, but that wasn't it entirely. I remembered how my grandma used to keep her assorted cookies in the coat closet along with a lot of mothballs. Those cookies, with their vanilla icing, always picked up a bit of moth ball essence. I'd do anything to be there and have one of those cookies again, but I don't think I will be investing in a full sized bottle of this.

Creamy, jungly spice. The fanged vanilla to Toor Toor’s toothy tuberose. Despite the chamomile and almond milk this is not a sleepy scent. If anything she is kinda ~* spoicy *~. Green Vanille is a textural one; the chamomile leans sharply herbal, stems and all, and the hazelnut feels raw and whole. It’s impressive how RdF can take traditionally angelic notes – like vanilla and tuberose – and make them feel secretive and wild, but this one personally wasn’t for me. Nuanced on skin and lasts a good long day in fabric, though. Mental Snapshot: A Mayan Revival Frank Lloyd Wright mansion. Enter Lara Croft, CEO. Her handshake is smooth and warm, but also the prelude to a judo throw. tl;dr: snarling flower 🐅🌿

This sounds odd but I its very nostalgic to me. When I was little my parents always took me cross country skiing and mom would dole out the carmex before and after going out on the windy freezing trail. Once we we were done we'd sit in an old wooden lodge and drink hot chocolate to warm up. This fragrance reminds me EXACTLY of that memory. It smells just like carmex, hints of maybe vanilla latte and drys woody. It sounds gross but I don't hate it and can't stop smelling it... Most likely because of that memory. I'd give it a 6.5/10 personally.

I would say this is not green smelling at all on my skin, but it is vanilla forward. Color wise it's more orange or amber. It is like a fairly sweet, cold, spiced milk. Many times these spices on the note list combine to make a warm and cozy fragrance, but Green Vanille is cool and a little distant despite the gourmand note list. I don't get carmex or medicinal. But I do get a waxy aspect and am having a hard time picking out individual notes. It reminds me of a Mac Shadescent fragrance, though I don't remember which one. Velvet Teddy?

From Green Vanilla top notes I get a blast of deep emerald green lush jungle and citronella, vanilla stays in the background in a supporting role smoothing the overall impression. Up close sniffing your skin you can smell earthy elements but what you mostly get of whiffs smelling this on someone walking by is weak vetyver and citronella because they are the notes that radiate rest sits very close to your skin. My expectations were higher and I’m left with “meh”, it’s nice, it’s well made

Interesting scent, like green bananas with something reminiscent of cinnamon. The notes say coriander seeds - I can see that. My son (7) complained I smelled rotten. My daughter (5) loved it so much she asked me to give her some, so I sprayed a bit on her wrist for her, haha. I'm glad I tried it but wouldn't bother again. It's sweeter than I would have liked.

Straight cedar. Nothing but sweet cedar. My skin turned this into a lumberyard séance—just me, a pile of sharpened pencils, and the ghost of a freshly built sauna. If there were other notes, they must’ve gotten lost on the way to the drydown. A real ‘wood’ you rather not situation.

Part of me likes this and part of me can smell the vetiver strongly which I’ve realized I do not like. Once the vetiver hits me I immediately have to move my sample away. If it wasn’t for that I would consider wearing this more but that note is just so off putting to me!

Benzoin is overwhelming the vanilla on my skin, I don’t know where the “green” is in this composition. Drydown reminds me of drinking root beer in a dry sauna. I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either.

The green is medicinal especially in the opening. Herbal might be a more flattering way of saying it (but not culinary herbs).

Vick's Vapor Rub? I am not sure why, but this is not at all what I imagined based on reviews and note listings. I ordered a small sample from LuckyScent and have sniffed it on my forearm throughout the day. This is my first smell of anything from Regime des Fleurs. I have been hoping for the creamy and woody notes to become apparent, but they have not. There is a medicinal bitterness. An animalic oud, smelling of an antique perfume that has evaporated into a brown syrup. Reminds me of Chanel No. 5? Please let me know if anyone feels this is remotely on base to what you've experienced with this fragrance.

Benzoin dominant fragrances are either a love or hate for me. I don't know if it's the chamomile or the nutmeg or some combination thereof - but this is giving me a headache. At first, the almost minty Tiger Balm quality was enchanting. I even got a little bit of a banana note. Feels tropical for about 10 minutes. I see that this goes against what I am supposed to feel as this is an ode to desert vanilla - not sweet. Problem is after about 10-15 minutes it becomes Grand Soir Lite. And it's a mess.

has something of the strict, clinical and authoritarian about it but wrapped up in a kind of benevolence. like a calmness that's insidious. perhaps bc im so used to vanillas being sweet, cloying almost, and this has essentially stripped how i've come to associate the note? it's kind of like a tease like oh look im so mature and orderly and creep you out

I don’t know, man - I wanted so badly to love this based on the notes and description but on me, this just smells like my great, great, great nan’s never washed, moth eaten wool coat that’s been sitting in her closet since time immemorial, that’s she’s heavily doused with a vanilla loo spray.

Oh no... this is not for me. Something on my skin is coming off like Oud and Ambery and sweet and it’s making me nauseous. I read it’s similar like Eau Duelle which I LOVE. I don’t see the similarities. This one is too funky. Maybe it’s the chamomile with hazelnut

It is nutty for sure. Vanilla and almost overwhelming amount of other spices. Much more masculine. Not a preferred scent profile.

It's so far away from what I imagined. I just don't get it. It's repulsive to me, sadly
