Nitesurf Neroli

I received a sample of this from the brand with my Little Flower order. It smells like the summer of 2002. My husband and I came up with that independently and we didn’t know each other at that time. I can’t remember what girls my age were wearing at that time but it had to be something of that era (I was 18, he was 20) and likely fell into the “affordable” category. The scent memory came crashing back to both of us from that time. It is intensely nostalgic. For a less personal review it smells like you are on a beach vacation, think Florida or California— less tropical, more American beach community. You put on an old school sunscreen and laid out by the beach all day. You head back and take a really quick shower before dinner but didn’t wash your hair so it still smells like salt, sand, ocean water, sweat, sun, and sunscreen. Your skin has that hot and salty smell to it. The tops of your shoulders and the tip of your nose are just the slightest bit sun burned. You throw on a loose sun dress, a touch of lip gloss and blush, and a youthful summer floral perfume, take a look at your wind tossed and salt crunchy wavy hair and shrug that “it is as good as it is going to get”. You then run out the door to a patio dinner you are already late for. Part of me really wants a full bottle for beach vacations or pool days for the youthful nostalgia. However, I don’t know if I do either enough for the purchase of another scent in this category. I don’t think I would reach for it for any other situation, but I absolutely love it.

Okay, I buy the vision. This is the tomboy twin sister to Glass Blooms, gap year-ing as a surf instructor in Maui instead of a ballet conservatory. It’s a mermaid princess runaway with the longboarding lifeguard babe. It’s Carmel-by-the-Sea Barbie. It’s the sweet, rubbery musk of a wetsuit soaked in saltwater and ambery tanning oil. Nitesurf cites many classics in its makeup: honeyed orange blossoms, seasalt, a dulcet marine amber. But also drops some impossible accords like “neon petals” and “smoked seashells.” However, after testing Nitesurf, now I know exactly what a “transparent citrus” is supposed to smell like. And I think that’s some of the finest magic of perfumery. I wouldn’t say Nitesurf is my favourite scent of all time, but it conjures such a fantastical, compelling vision for me. Ordinarily I'm not the biggest fan of sugary or blossomy scents, but Nitesurf made me a believer. My biggest surprise of the RdF set. Mental Snapshot: Galactic sunset. Bioluminescent breakers. Neon neoprene. Surfers and sirens bobbing in a chlorine-clear cove. Tropical fish darting under blacklight. A coral reef made of glass candy and gummy gelatine. tl;dr: siren’s sunscreen 🍬🪸

Nitesurf neroli is a beautiful, springtime floral scent to me. To be honest, If I smelled it blindly I wouldn’t associate it with the ocean at all. The top note being salt is a bit misleading because I wouldn’t consider this a salty fragrance whatsoever, so don’t let that turn you away. I will say you get a little bit of the saltiness in the dry down, but only if you search for it. I also don’t get seashells unless we are talking about a cold, porcelain/glassy note which I can see a little. Overall it’s very bright floral in the opening and dries down to a softer, saltier floral. Doesn’t last very long on the skin but lasts days on clothes. Very pretty and I would definitely recommend! I think this is a safe blind buy for anybody who likes orange blossom scents or light florals in general.

I remember not "getting" the Neroli craze from 10-15 years ago. Then I smelled this. Now I get why people like Neroli. I wasn't a fan of the Tom Ford, but this scent is so complex and gorgeous. Smelling this brings up a vision of snorkeling around a coral reef by starlight. My skin is tanned from the sun and my hair trailing long behind me in the water as the moon and stars illuminate anemones, clown fish, coral, a moray eel, all dancing below me. It's summer and fragrant blooming flowers from the shore join the coastal symphony. I feel like a mermaid that's had a puff of a pre-roll and a few Palomas - absolutely divine.

sexy; evocative; the scent of walking down the humid streets of a tropical seaside city at night, a little drunk and fighting the urge to run onto the beach, pull your top off, and plunge into the dark glittering waves. i’m learning i’m a big regime des fleurs fan which is a little heartbreaking as the price point for their perfumes is pretty painful. what’s a girl to do 😔

As a SoCal native who lives by the coast, this smells like a summer beach day. This is artistic and really beautiful. It’s not sunscreeny at all...it’s a bright white floral, aquatic, a bit oceanic, and a tad smoky. To me, it’s accurately represented by the notes listed and it’s a fun wear. This is a moderate projector with great longevity and it lasts forever on clothes.

opens with beautiful, intoxicating neroli. dries down to salty, musky, ambergris. will still get whiffs of the gorgeous neroli in the air after the dry down but if you smell yourself up close it is all warm, salty, skin. im obsessed with this salt note wear if you want to smell like a mermaid with flowers woven in her hair sunning herself on a jetty on a hot july day

Nothing smells like summer more than this perfect masterpiece of a perfume. When they said seashell accord they meant it. Wearing this is like aromatherapy to me, it transports me to a carefree beach vacation, I just can’t get enough. Lasts all day. I wouldn’t change a thing, and I am a picky bitch. ★★★★★

Reminds me of being in a small southern beach town. Very heavy on the neorli/white florals (in the best way) with some salt in the background like a gentle sea breeze. Sprayed on at 8am and I can still smell this as I am writing this at 4pm. Immediately upgraded to full size

This is soft and powdery to me. It reminds me of Glass Blooms but more beachy and less baby powerdery overall. I can see a friendly beautiful mermaid wearing this sitting in a secret cove. I definitely want to upgrade to a full bottle one day.

Delicious! Crisp, sweet, salty, beachy (with no trace of sunscreen or coconut, thankfully): only sweaty grape gatorade, breezy florals, seashells under your toes, and salty sea foam. Comforting, delightful, completely transporting

This is my ideal neroli fragrance. The neroli is rich and warm and isn't drowned out by strong florals or cleaning vibe citruses. Very summerish bright sunny day vibes, love it.

The ultimate summer scent. Beautiful neroli (warm and fresh, a little honeyed) with salty animalic undertones of ambergris. Lasts forever and projects well.

revisiting this—- this is a really interesting and beachy neroli. it’s definitely salty, but not overpowering. that being said, i’m not as big a fan of the dry down as i’d remembered upon first trying it. it dries down into grape rock candy and very intense, sort of chalky seashell. i feel like this is well rounded, but in my opinion the point by clue simply does a better job at accomplishing a similar DNA and imagery— a walk across a breezey beach with wafts of salty ocean air and crisp marine florals. still gorgeous, just slightly too chalky for me to say that i love it

A dirtied up neroli scent. So often neroli has a high pitched vibration in perfumes- intense, clean, juicy and green. This perfume uses salt water notes and incense to bring that vibration down a little bit, giving the neroli a grunged up vibe that keeps its citrusy beauty but somehow makes it more relaxed and cooler. A touch of ambroxan gives Nitesurf Neroli real staying power, it lasts up to 12 hours on skin with moderate sillage.

Like a refined version of Phlur's discontinued Solar Power (RIP). I already liked that one, so it's probably not surprising that I liked a version that doesn't have the sunscreeny effect. Price is a little extravagant for a company that doesn't do travel sizes, though.

Hyperrealistic beach in a bottle, down to the gritty sand between your toes on the ride home, your salty hair sticking to your neck and your swimsuit still damp. Incredible. A piece of art. Not wearable for me. Maybe if I were less than 400 miles from a coastline.

I got a strong sunscreen from this one off the bat, followed by a complex floral. Reminiscent of a summer evening in Hawaii, when the plumeria and blooms get fragrant. I ran through this sample when I was in LA, a very California vibe.

Initially the salt and water notes are at the forefront. On the dry down, it's all smoke and seashells. I think this would be a lovely sent to wear at night time on the beach.

the smell of the smoked seashells actually ends up being quite calcareous/mineral. coupled with the salt it's even more mineral. using a dabber sample which would differ from a spray but to me this is watery and mineral with a white floral breeze demurely in the background . this isn't animalic though the shell note is classed as such. i think it's very mineral

So my family rented a beach house every summer when I was a kid....... the downstairs bathroom had a candle my mom lit once and awhile to cover the stench of teenagers, wet dog, and people..... this unfortunate reminds me of that candle. I can see how it would smell good on others but it takes me on a scent journey to a place I don't want to go!

I really loved this and was going to purchase a full bottle until- my boyfriend told me I smelled like a grape jolly rancher. Now instead of smelling the neroli I can only think of the grape :( when you focus on the neroli and oceanic vibes I get that but when I just sniff now all I get is strong grape.

Man. I love neroli, salt, and hedione but all I get from this is a super indolic seashell. I had to wash it off my skin because it’s so strong - which is good I guess if you like the scent. Bummer.

To my nose, this is EXTREMELY salty. Like, I'm choking on salt. I liked it on paper, but on my skin the salt/seashells is way too strong.

It makes no sense to call it summery fragrance as for the beach and choose neroli for it. The only thing the brings to my mind when I tried it was a depressing/shady garden. After 30 minutes all the notes disappears and it gets sweet. Sweet like a basic splash. Absolutely not worth the price and absolutely not true what influencers say. At least not for me. You want a good fragrance and to feel the neroli till the end??. Examples are Chanel 19 edp , Prada cedre edp. Defined descent fragrances at reasonable price. By the way those sea shells only adds dry feel to the base. No light in this perfume.

I really wanted to like this one! On paper, sounds like a wonderful marine, floral, citrusy moment (which I adore). Despite all that, I physically recoiled the first time I smelled this. I couldn’t get past the harsh ultra-salty opening. The mermaids everyone speaks of are drowning me in the ocean water & kelp :(

I wanted to like this so badly! But to my nose, it's just heavy indolic jasmine, urine, and ocean (but not in an aquatic way, more in a low tide way). Not into this at all. Scrubber.

In Nitesurf Neroli, many fathoms below the sky and sea, a candied grotto pulses with crystalline sweetness. Hypersaturated quartz blooms dissolve in the damp and darkness, a bright ginger and glacé citron pollen strobing in the mist. Fossilized shells from conch and clam and sea snail scatter, their ancient forms crusted with sugared jewels, catching and refracting the shimmering glow. Every surface glistens with a rusk of candied brilliance, and time dissolves in saline musk in this underwater disco frenzy of sugar-coated excess, looping endlessly, eternally electric. This is the sweetness mermaids whisper, each to each, beneath the waves.

this is the holy water of mermaids. i know this because I am a mermaid. i wear this on nights I surf bioluminescent waves in the Maldives with my girls. my habitat? the liminal shores... hidden sea caves, shallow coral reefs, tidepools that collect starlight. citrus blossoms caught in seafoam at twilight... neroli is my religion. saltwater is my devotion. according to me, surf accord is just mermaid pheremones. this isn’t for the Little Mermaids who want to grow legs and leave the sea for a man. this is for mermaids who gather on full moons at Mako Island’s hidden grotto to harness their powers.

Sugar sweet neroli and mineralic seashells. Images of white stone cliffs and breathing in sweet and salty damp air. It doesn't convey floral to me only sugar, but not an artificial candy, more like refined white cane sugar. Again this adds to the bright white cliffs feeling. It's very pleasant, for me it is the most enjoyable in the Régime des Fleurs discovery set. But not complex enough to warrant a full bottle, but finishing this sample will be easy to do because it's such an enjoyable scent.

Working through the discovery set. I love beachy scents and the smell of sunscreen but this didn't smell very beachy to me. I got the salt, but honestly, it smelled faintly like urine to me for the first hour after application. At the end of my work day, I didn't mind the scent, but what was left was faint. Very odd one.

My favorite from the discovery set. Immediate smile lit up my face when i put this to my nose. Ive been looking for the perfect summer neroli (eau de sens and neroli amara are up there too) and this just takes the cake after tons of searching. What an absolute gem!

Sunscreen, wet bathing suit, rubber, and bubblegum. Not a gourmand by any means but I’m not getting any white florals or saltiness I was hoping for. Still a good summer fragrance for hot hot days by the water.

Awww, man, I really want to smell this! But I live in Europe and the only website I found that sells this, was a Danish one that doesn't do samples. The price is a bit steep for a blind buy 😬...

Such a pleasant surfy scent- I have smelt this walking up and down San Diego beaches. SoCal dreaming. Wish it lasted longer on skin.

This is a very pretty wear, although thin. I'd be interested in smelling the original which was supposed to be much more animalic.

I love neroli and little flower by regime de fleur but something about this scent greatly offends me. Like astringent cleaner.

Gorgeous damp neroli. I live on a bus by the ocean it is so comforting. Would buy this as a room and linen spray!
