Frankincense - Myrrh - Rose Maroc

If you're like me, you grew up wondering 'Just what is Frankincense and Myrrh, and why is it an appropriate gift for a new born?" This scent smells like an archetypical myth. The ones where the hero must journey into the abyss, to a place where nothing grows, nothing is hoped for and nothing can be had. And from this place the hero must retrieve what he came for: that which is most precious. This is why it's a gift to new borns, because infants, who have no olfactory library to reference, sense this and know "Ah, this I remember!" That said, how does RM's version hold up? It's good, quite good, and I give it a 8 out of a 10. i would like to see more longevity, but I do think that the price is reasonable for the quality. worth trying, but if you are a serious collector of attars i would look towards the Orient, as Westerners tend to take more liberties with their archetypes. (edit: i don't think she is using the highest quality ingredients here, which will be noticable to those who have sniffed the comparisons)

Medieval is the word that best describes this scent to me. I love it's richness, it's darkness and mysteriousness. Rubbing this dark oil into your skin seems ritualistic somehow, as though you are enacting a scene from hundreds of years ago. This scent is darkly sweet, but kept from being cloying by the dusky, earthy notes. A Keeper!

This is one of the best perfumes for me. It's a divine spicy resinous rose. It's rich and deep and mysterious. Heavenly, and I adore it. Beautiful rich strong sweet incense. So oriental and comforting.

Perfectly executed Chrurchy perfume, simple notes but it smells so complex and addicting. Perfect touch of rose as well, not overly sweet

Dry, almost dusty (in the beginning), and yet smells somewhat soapy on me. It's as if a very high-quality oil was poured into an exotic, fragranced wood container, hidden in a desert, and was left to be found by someone special ages later. I feel like I should be wearing this with a long dress of some sort, that's dark, thin, and made of airy fabric; hair long and blowing; light, strappy sandals; and black eyeliner...walking around in some desert oasis. This is like extremely high quality incense, minus all of the extra smokiness I usually get from incense-laden fragrances. It cries out *PERFUME*, but in a sensual, come-hither sort of way. Very resinous and intoxicating. It lasts a good long while (on me), and I only have it on one wrist. I get sensational wafts, every now and then, that make me feel clean, exotic, and somehow, even cool in this hot heat of Texas.

kind of good. I was lured into buying a sample of this (almost bought blind) due to its the name. These three components together cannot be bad, aint it? It is not bad at all. Just there is this timing thing, which is that I might be owning a bottle IF I met this frag a year ago when I did not know so many fumes. I give it high scores but I am not impressed. Like someone mentioned I do believe there are better quality and more astonishing frags within this category of dark orientals. Might as well be my next quest, ajooooo note: Longevity seems to be cca 3 hours on my skin

This is gorgeous and a bit rough around the edges in the best way. It's warm and thick, but not at all cloying. Opinions seem split on the prominence of the rose, but to me it's a co-star along with the resins. I'm not very familiar with authentic Middle Eastern fragrances, so I can't vouch for its authenticity on that front. But as a deep, feminine, (western) oriental, this fits the bill. Projection is average for an oil, and it's probably overpriced, but I suspect a lot of the cost goes towards the heavy and ornate Middle East by way of Middle Earth-esque bottle.

Omg I've never used a perfume oil this goopy before it was like dabbing honey on my skin. I could barely smell it at first but my mom said I smell nice and asked what I was wearing. I feel like a genius for wearing this to midnight mass at church cause it fit the vibe so well. I loveee frankincense and myrrh scents so I enjoyed wearing this overall but Avignon is still my #1 of all time.

The more I wear it, the more I like it. It’s a simple and powerful scent of frankincense and myrrh. It smells raw and earthy, I imagine it as dry tree bark mixed with damp soil. The rose comes and goes, like a ghost.

A very sticky oil that is mostly frankincense and olibanum. I detect no rose in my sample. It is a bit plastic or play doh though. Something not totally beautiful in it.

Not sure what all the buzz is about. Sticky, resinous mixture that fringes on boring. Primarily frankincense with very little rose, or anything else, for that matter. I recognize I am not a fan of resinous, close-to-the body oils. Staying power is nil, silage is zero. Any fragrance seems to fade within 30 minutes, or so. While I suppose there is a bit of a "more authentic, pure oil fragrance" to this dark mixture, it still smells like "suburban mall kiosk" oil that has lost pungency. Fragrance seems to hit a wall. After a few minutes, I could barely detect any scent. You would think at this price point, there might be something utterly pleasurable, or unique about this oil. This is a total pass.

Regina Harris is a very serious, dramatic fragrance. Unfortunately, this scent reminds me STRONGLY of an Asian dried herbs/roots store (really not something I want to smell on myself). Lasting power is phenomenal, bottle is exquisite. I think the price is justified if you like it, considering the lasting power and concentration.

I get no rose from this at all. When I sniff my wrist, I immediately think: Hmm, frankincense and BBQ sauce. Love the bottle. The oil leaves much to be desired.

Dry, arid frankincense & myrrh, despite its oil base. It has an oriental marketplace quality to it . . . sort of like walking down winding, cobbled stone streets in an ancient Middle Eastern city, like maybe Jerusalem, and happening upon a merchant/seller of authentic but well crafted merchandise not made in China. This perfume would be one of the things that merchant would be selling, but more lasting, deeper and compelling. . . . at a less heftier price than what LuckyScent.com is selling it for. What R H is selling seems like a diluted rendition of what this merchant would be selling. This has less than stellar silage and lasting power (skin scent in less than 30 minutes) . . have to get up close and personal to detect after that. Considering and compared to the lasting power of most oil-based perfumes. both Regina Harris and LuckyScent.com should be ashamed of the going price they are asking for this rather bland, under-performing perfume ($125 for 1/2 oz(15ml)).

I'd been waiting a month for Fragrancenet to re-stock so I could buy a sample of this pricy potion. Received in the mail today and immediately put on my wrist. I guess I share same skin chemistry as 'antfarm': I also can't detect rose,but the scent is sweet. There's a balsam quality and smokiness as well. I don't dislike it, but can't say I'd want to buy more of this, though it's interesting, and may just be someone else's cup of tea. Since I'm new to fragrantica and still learning to discern fragrance notes I really value the comments by more experienced fragranticans, and don't regret being led to try new scents, even when they don't suit me. It's a great adventure.

Frankincense - Myrrh - Rose Maroc How in love with this am I! I have never smelled anything like this before! This is a smoldering, seductive, warm rose with balsamic notes. The rose is deep, full bodied, blends with the dark, thick, exotic olibanum-myrrh accord, soft amber beautifully. I get some bitter earthy wood notes. The spices, delicate patchouli are noticeable on my skin too. The oil lasted for a long time on my skin and sillage is very soft. It is a very complex fragrance, the poor projection is worth the sacrifice. The bottle is beautiful and the oil is worth the price.

The Goddess of the spiritual oils! Very very old fashioned ingredients, ingredients mentioned in the bible, but topped with the beautiful aroma of rose. I do like it, my only concern( I have a test) the staying power. I put it on my skin about 10 mins ago, and now I can barely detect it. Such a shame, but I still would buy a full bottle 😁

this is really interesting and unusual fragrance. it comes as dark oil and is nothing like modern, contemporary stuff. it starts with fresh notes of rose which already after a few seconds drown into the seewtnes of frankincense and myrrh. after sometime the scent becomes softer and warmer. really beautiful, natural scent.

I love orientals and this is a nice one, at least on me. Most fragrances end up smelling like bug spry but this one stays true. I mix the oil with an unscented body cream and the scent lasts all day. In fact, I get a lot of compliments whenever I wear it.

This smells like a head shop to me. I have always wondered what frankincense and myrrh smelled like. Interesting. Smells powdery, heavy and a little sweet. I could definitely see this being an ancient perfume. It's definitely growing on me.
