Extraordinaire Saba

I usually like my woodsy, balsamic scents with some sweetness but for some reason, I really like this even though it’s dry and unsweetened. it reminds me of something I’ve had in the past but I cannot remember what it is. A reviewer on YouTube said that it would make a great layering scent and I absolutely agree. For me, it’s a very classy, inoffensive and easy to like fragrance. Definitely unisex and office friendly. I have experienced 5 fragrances from this house and own this and Makeda. Divine Tentation may be next.

This is a gorgeous fragrance. Light (at least for us), but gorgeous. This is one of few fragrances we agree on. The description fits it perfectly, "...like a second skin". The leather in the drydown mixed with the balsam makes it intoxicating. Great bottle. Excellent presentation. Cool looking cap. Look forward to trying more from the house.

I'm going to nice and give this a like because the opening blast fades pretty quickly. Rough opening that turns into a nice rough masculine leather fragrance but again nothing new here. Reminds me of English Leather. Which btw is a lot cheaper. Or any of the Tom Ford leathers. I like leather fragrances but it seems like we get the same type of leather. An imitation of something that has already been done. What bugs me about so many of these new niche brands is they aren't doing anything new. And they aren't doing anything retro enough. In other words they play it extremely safe. Edit: 11/17/24 My husband wore this sample the other day and it lasted quite a long time. The problem is it smells like so many other things he has tried in the past but wasn't moved enough to buy. A rather safe and boring woody, masculine leather. You can get this scent profile for a lot less.

I think the people saying this doesn't project etc. are probably doing multiple sprays to start with, as one would normally think to do, and immediately noseblinding themselves with that ambrox super. I put one spray on the back of my hand and this stuff is screaming off of me like it's yelling into a megaphone. To the point where it would be a bit annoying if it didn't smell so good. This reminds me a lot of Babycat if you took away the nose-scratchy peppery aspect from that (not a knock, I like that part of BC!) and replaced it with something almost lightly mentholated. Really super nice, just go light on the trigger. Probably worth a pickup if you love the Babycat DNA and want something like that with huge projection. The price is obviously the big negative here, but performance-wise you're getting your money's worth and the bottle is just absolutely drop-dead gorgeous in person, pictures don't do it justice. Those caps are solid metal and weigh like half a pound and are bigger than they seem in pictures. Really, really upscale feeling bottles if you care about that sort of thing.

A lazier comparison would be Baby Cat or Rosendo Mateu No 5. A beautiful Peru balsam, Benzoin, with a slight smokiness and touch of leather and labdunum backbone, I don’t pick up much of any Cypriol
