Reine Makéda

I just came back here to say this held up over time for me. Im on bottle #2. Masterfully blended. A soft halo of mandarin orange floats atop a base of rose and ambrette, with orris, musk, cashmere at the base. Texturally this is incredible- an airy, whipped, lightly sweetened thing that has the sort of longevity it shouldn't, given its transparency and floaty quality. Extremely feminine. Easily top 5 for me, and I have smelled probably thousands of perfumes. But this is also my DNA- perfumes with the kind of trail that sparkles and floats in the air rather than trudging along densely behind you. If you are a Mizensir, Guerlain, VCA fan... this might be for you. This may not be your thing, but completely disagree with others who say this compares to a designer scent, or that you are paying for the cap. Some reviews here are from people buying perfume based on influencer recommendations 😂 Others say that this FRENCH brand needs to be more "Arabic and edgy" 🤣 😭 There are references to Creme de Cuir, to Angel, to Dama Bianca... but it actually smells nothing like them, which is why all of these people compare it to such different perfumes: similar DNA maybe, but not even close to a similar scent. Highly recommend. If you don't like it, you can probably resell it for about as much as you paid... the girlies in the groups snatch this stuff up. It may not be your thing, which is completely fair. But that aside, I'm sorry there are all these confused noses reviewing it. I hope everyone can get their hands on this angelic, sparkling, swirling, lightly sweetened musk bomb.

Firstly, let's give applause to this presentation, packaging and bottle with amazing beautiful cap, it's just like a vessel with Parfum that tells you stories about Queen of Sheba Reine Makéda by Reine de Saba is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance (2022) Perfumer behind this fragrance is Anne Flipo. Top notes are Mandarin Orange, Ambrette (Musk Mallow), and Violet Leaf; the middle notes are Orris Root, Rose, and Jasmine; base notes are Cedar, Vanilla, Cashmeran and Musk. My experience: Reine Makéda OMG! This is so sensual and alluring opening quite powerful, the magical dry-down so beautiful creamy light and airy and very feminine in my honest opinion. All notes blended to such perfection that it's hard to point out separate ones in this composition. I get floral/musky opening there are definitely strong orange 🌸 blossom in composition, then it's becoming so attractive: violet leaf probably makes composition more vibrant and creamy Orris Root with rose and jasmine still keep floating floral waves... It’s heavenly, and it’s very complex. Each time you smell, you pick up different dimensions of this perfume This perfume is so nice on drydown with woody musky creamy vanilla smooth touch to your skin that makes you feel quite glorious ✨️ This fragrance is true to its name!

WOW! This fragrance exudes luxury, elegance and sophistication from the first sniff. Bright, citrusy freshness that fades within seconds when a creamy, almost buttery, soft, elegant powderiness, mixed with an ambery, warm, sensual sweetness and just a very soft green touch comes forward. REINE MAKEDA is very sophisticated and complex, also with an unique DNA and is that type of fragrance that gives addiction. I love sniffing myself when I have it on. It's a fragrance with very good sillage, but it's not overpowering. I can sense my scent cloud on me all day long, just with few spritz without the need to reapply. I absolutely adore it!😍 I also love Reine de Saba packaging and bottles. They are at a masterpiece level.

Absolutely stunning, and like nothing yet everything Ive ever smelled all at one. A true memory fragrance. My new signature. Have you ever smelled a pwrfume and thought to yourself, I have thought about this scent a hundred times in my head, wishing it would appear? Yeah, THAT. Timeless, elegant, soft, feminine, chic, and highly romantic and intimate. Very special stuff.

I don’t understand the lower rating for this fragrance but I respect other fragrance enthusiasts’s opinions. This is so lovely. The iris is so perfectly placed and all the notes are blended to perfection. This is a pretty sundress fragrance. I will agree with some reviewers below in that it doesn’t project like I wish it would but, smell alone, this is heavenly.

The perfume is unfortunately a copy of Viva di Tosca, nothing new, trying to deceive people is unacceptable, the exaggeration in the price of the perfume as well, I worked with the perfume in 2005 and it is a perfume created by the perfumer Muelhens Viva di Tosca

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the mandarin orange note, which starts to dissipate 1/2 way through the life of the fragrance. The opening is heavy on the mandarin orange, and the violet leaf, which comes about 10 minutes into it, enhances it even more. The dry down is beautiful; powdery, soft, musky with a very elegant whisper of iris. I layer this with Sorriso from Profumum Roma, so I can marry the mandarin orange with the chocolate from Sorriso, and I absolutely love it. Longevity is a decent 6+ hours; projection is pretty good as well. This is a fragrance that you can smell on yourself without having to put your nose directly on skin. I don't mind it, but I don't love it. I think I appreciate it for its artistry more than I enjoy wearing it. Layered, however, it's a completely different story--love that combo. This was a blind buy for me, and I'll keep it but won't repurchase. The packaging, by the way, is very, very pretty. 7/10 Edit: I also layered this with Minuit et Demi. I used a 2:2 ratio; 2 sprays of RdS first, let it dry, then 2 sprays of MeD. To me, this combo also works as they complement each other well.

A high quality, extremely sweet and exceptionally feminine perfume that reminds me of a solar in a lot of ways, just without coconut. Powdery notes wind their way throughout the florals at all times, giving the impression of a velvety soft texture and a sweet girlish lightness that speaks of warm summer days, golden sun, and buoyancy of spirit. I can appreciate the simplicity and prettiness of this perfume while acknowledging that it would never suit my more complicated and generally darker mien. Still, it’s a pleasure to wear and to experience. Reine Makéda has a pretty pervasive initial projection, reaching its tendrils out into the air all around the wearer for at least the first couple hours. It lasts 6 hours on skin total.

This fragrance reminds me of crème de cuir from BDK. I don’t think is too original however it’s a good fragrance and have lasting power, but nothing you must have.

This really reminds me of aerin Lauder amberette noir and a few other perfumes I've smelled recently. One of them was from that cupcake bottle line. House of sillage. I give this an ok rating because it's been done. And done to death. I've smelled this type of sweet, vanilla, citrus, vegetal musk fragrance sooo many times recently and quite frankly I'm bored. An extremely safe choice in product from a line that should be more Arabic and edgy. Bold. This isn't bold it is safe. Girly.

On my skin, the flower notes accentuate the facets of vanilla to the extend that it's basically a vanilla ice-cream. Not too sweet but still sweet. Not too gourmand but I still think of the ice-cream. In the dry-down the cashmeran and cedar creep in and the scent becomes more powdery and sour. A bit annoying unfortunately. Pity as I really enjoy Synthetic Nature that Anne Flipo did for Frederic Malle.

So so bad. Cheap smelling fragrance, I wanted so badly to wash it off since the very beginning. I tried to give it a chance keeping it for a few hours but I did not change my mind later on. I bought the discovery set from this brand and it’s a disappointment so far, the quality of the samples is horrible and already made a bad first impression when I opened the box: 1 sample out of 10 is of a different color, cap broken and fragrance dispersed, poor poor quality in general. Not a good look if you’re a new brand trying to attract customers. The asking price for the bottles is outrageous considering my initial experience, basically you’re paying for the beautiful cap. Not enough.

To me it doesn’t smell like a niche fragrance at all. I would simply confuse it with something from Michael Kors - it’s heady white florals with some rose and musk.

It has sweet resin, warm woods, balsamic density, and a soft, glowing base. Not my preference.

i really hated this. it was very musk heavy--just suffocating on the nose. the florals smelled ok if not a little generic. It did not feel light or airy at all in my opinion. This and lust in paradise have similar weight of musk in them. I love musk scents but not this at all.

I absolutely agree with the other reviewers saying this is similar to isola sol from Roja! By chance I was testing them days apart and I had to look at my decants bottles again because for an instant I thought I had taken the other one! I think I prefer this one, but I also really like isola sol (just not the price point). I'm surprised to see no neroli (or orange blossom) listed because I could swear I'm picking up on some. Must be the manderine giving that effect. This is really beautiful. An ethereal scent. It's soft and to my nose utterly feminine. Really lovely pick for spring and summer.

This is a pretty, creamy, soft and powdery fragrance with little to no projection unfortunately, becomes a skin scent almost immediately. It was in my top 3 from the brand but since it doesn’t preform well whatsoever (I’ve worn it a few times) I won’t be buying a FB. My fav from the line is Aksuom of which I did buy a bottle of. Still this is a nicely crafted perfume, well blended for sure, just too shy of a fragrance for me. Referring to the reminds me of section: Does not smell like Ylang in gold at all, I actually really dislike that fragrance. They are completely different to me.

the florals in here are surprisingly warm.. this is not a heavy scent though. Think soft musky spring florals with some warmth and also definitely freshness...its a bit of pick me up freshness, cosy soft muskiness and florals as if amarige had a granddaughter who was a lot more modern and fashionable. I think there is more than just jasmine and orris...One of my favourites from the range and I've worn it a few times now in different weather and enjoyed it very much every time :).

I got a decant of this and I can not believe no one has compared this to Dama Bianca yet! They are so similar. Reina is more refined, and less fruity than Dama. Dama Bianca is pretty but it made me nauseous, so far this one hadn’t done that yet so we will see!

Strong! heavy white florals, orris, ambrette, cedar...tons of musk. This is slightly sweet and also has a noticeable citrus note that lingers a long time. It is a nice scent. Overpriced, but nice.
