Illusion

I agree with the comments - this fragrance really is the love child of Baccarat Rouge and Oud for Greatness. And even I do not like OfG, I loved this perfume. It starts off sweet and feminine, then becomes slightly more masculine, yet I still think it’s a feminine fragrance. There’s something cotton-candy-like in it, but it’s not sickly sweet, a bit airy. It lasts beautifully until the end of the day. I really like it, it is niche quality. The only thing that bothers me a little is the clove note - because of that, I’m not sure I would wear it very often.

This stuff is actually surprisingly potent. The initial spray is certainly sweet but once it dries down it brings out beautifully assorted complexities, so basically it leans more feminine at first but then later releases more masculine notes as the day goes on. This stuff lasts at least 8 hours and usually my colognes wear off after about 5-6 on me. All in all, I have to say this is a great scent for my nose.

Illusion is an interesting scent, one that surprised me quite a bit actually. This is a powerful sweet and spicy floral with heaps of strength and character. A warm, spicy and dark note of clove dominates the scent profile, contrasted by the warming sweetness of intense saffron and hints of jammy rose. This part of the scent profile is very reminiscent of Initio’s Oud for Greatness, but instead of heading in a woodier direction the scent continues to sweeten up even further through the use of sticky dried fruits, aromatic juniper and a cotton Candy accord. This is actually a pretty nice scent, I like it. I used to own a bottle of Oud for Greatness but grew bored of the scent profile after some time, which I imagine the same thing would happen if I owned this. I enjoy the fragrance, but my 5ml decant will be more than enough.

Unique and enigmatic Reminds me of BR 540 EDP although I'm not the biggest fan of that I do think this is very much its own thing it's obviously more niche and authentically eastern in its style and structure. Has some shades of Amouage reasons and O4G as well. This is one you have to sit with it really does seem to play tricks on the wearer, living up to its name, Illusion

Layer this with Creed Aventus smh oh my If you use this and get a compliment or catch a whiff and think wow, just remember who put you on lol

Imagine the DNA of BR540, but filtered through the sterile chill of Stevia’s mentholic sweetness. That strange, cooling lift that's almost metallic, floating atop a clove-heavy heart that flirts with spice but leans medicinal. It opens with candied berry gauze, but very quickly veers into something that feels like fabric left damp too long: soft, sweet, but kind of unsettling. There’s something hollow in the sweetness like it’s trying to haunt you with nostalgia but ends up ghosting itself.

Resinous, spicy, ambery sweet. A little like By the Fireplace, a little like Gucci Eyes of the Tiger

I purchased sacred bond after sampling it through a kind perfume friend and received the samples of all the other fragrances with my order. So I’ll give my first impressions on all and will edit once I have had the chance to give them a full body wear (I don’t know about you but these small samples for me are always only just enough perfume for 1 first impressions spray and then 1 full body wear). I wholeheartedly agree with the review below from Jay loves mee and don’t have much to add frankly. On first sniff I was immediately thinking: oh no, not you again. It’s a scent profile I really don’t gravitate towards. I have over 200 perfumes but no br540, no oud for greatness and no instant crush. It’s just not what I personally enjoy. I would never call this a bad fragrance for that though, it’s just my taste! It might be the perfect fragrance for you if you do love that scent profile. To my nose it sits in between br540 and oud for greatness in terms of sweetness. Not nearly as sweet as the first and a lot sweeter than the latter (and no oud). To me this is the least unique smelling one from the entire line up. You’ve definitely smelled something like this before. But if you enjoyed those 3 that I mentioned but they were not exactly 100% perfect yet for you then maybe give this one a go. In terms of price point I don’t find them too bad honestly (if I see what run of the mill designers go for these days..., you are undeniably getting high quality here).

At first sniff it’s not to exciting... but then it hits the skin and that is when the magic happens.. it’s takes a minute for it to start. It definitely smell close to BR 540 so if you like that you will enjoy this I think. Spice is minimal for me at least..then there is the warm yummy slightly sweet vanilla/amber. I don’t care for rose scents and I really am enjoying this so rose is not a huge element that I am getting... it probably just really balanced with the spices so it doesn’t give me that headache I get from rose scents. I think this may even get better as it sets on the shelf for a month or 2. I would always suggest sampling first. The cotton candy burns off pretty fast wish it lasted a bit longer... since I love the yummy vanilla smell... the nice thing in the is it’s not to sweet because of the spice notes. Hope that helps.

Ladifree- You asked for a review, so here goes. Definite Baccarat vibes with the saffron, or maybe more so OFG but sweeter and more airy, the cotton candy note makes this dainty and femme, but the saffron and woody notes ground it. I was worried about the clove note, but its more so in the background. Its really nice, I still prefer Sacred Bond from the house but I am happy to have this one, both are power house fragrances, I think esp the Sacred Bond but maybe I go nose blind to Illusion ...perhaps thats why it's called Illusion??

The reviews about this smelling like Initio Oud For Greatness and Baccarat 540 are accurate. They both tag team harmoniously with out clashing. I personally never got BR vibes from OFG, but this fragrance does have the best of both worlds. It projects and lasts a really long time. Gives an opulent dark and mystical vibe.

Feminine oud for greatness. Has some br540 qualities as well for sure as others have said. Meh.
