Lucid Dream

COMPARING LUCID DREAM WITH GUERLAIN'S OUD NUDE If anyone reading my reviews doesn't already know that I love Raspberry combined with both leather and Oud, I'll tell you again. I bought this scent blindly based entirely on the notes and Plum added even more interest to it. The purchase was very successful. I never test my blind buys on a paper strip (not even samples, really), but spray them directly on my skin. I was so sure about Lucid Dream that I literally bathed in the scent. My first reaction was that it was a familiar scent and at the same time I was completely intoxicated by its aroma: captivating, fruity, enigmatic and rich. There is no doubt that Lucid Dream is very close to Guerlain's Oud Nude (I have written a review about it). Lucid Dream is darker, thicker, more intense and stronger than Oud Nude. Raspberry and Plum together create just the right fruity twist, which is not light, sparklingly juicy, but hazy and soft. Plum is clearly present, also making the fruity aspect not only darker and deeper but less sweet than it is in Oud nude. Saffron brings a tender leathery touch to the scent, which together with Western Oud forms a solid base for the other notes. Oud Nude lacks the leathery note, as well as Patchouli, making it a bit brighter and lighter than Lucid Dream, which lacks vanilla and therefore lacks the subtle, refined sweetness that is noticeable as Oud Nude develops towards the dry down. Lucid Dream is oriental in structure, while Oud Nude is not in my opinion. Lucid Dream is very rich, velvety and thickly creamy. It really feels dreamy because the texture is so hazy and even misty. However, due to its darkness and thickness, the following feeling is not the same as what I experience with Oud nude: "Oud Nude is a delicious but not clearly edible. It’s soft cozy hug ... somehow it makes me think the naked body over sprayed with Oud Nude (means naked Oud) under the cashmere cardigan." (from my own review of Oud Nude). Lucid Dream is enveloping but not as light as a feather and Lucid Dream doesn't feel "delicious" per se, despite enticing fruits. In Oud Nude, the deliciousness comes from the combination of Raspberry and Almond and the fact that the scent is brighter, so the fruity sweetness comes out more clearly. In both fragrances, the rose plays more of a technical role than bringing its aroma to the fragrance itself. Despite the subtle differences mentioned above, the scents are very similar and the overall feel of them is the same, at least on my skin. If you find Oud Nude too feminine, Lucid Dream is definitely perfect for you, and if Lucid Dream feels too masculine, you will fall in love with Oud Nude. I love both so much but I don't think you need both. It's definitely worth getting to know them and making a choice after that. On my husband's skin, Oud Nude is clearly more feminine and pretty, and on the other hand, Lucid Dream loses its fruitiness on his skin, making it more masculine at the same time. On my own "easy" skin, the difference is not so clear, but still my husband's choice leans towards Oud Nude every time I ask him which one he likes better on my skin. The difference between the scents is clearer at the beginning and fades towards the dry down. Lucid Dream projects more and lasts longer, stronger, but Oud Nude lingers on the skin clearly overnight and the irresistible, gently creamy combination of Almond and Raspberry is intimately perceptible to the person sleeping next to you. I love ultra feminine scents so from reviews I thought I wouldn't like Lucid Dream at all, plus saffron I usually hate Fragrances with saffron. However I'm so glad I decided to try this anyways! To my nose it's a touch of dark red fruits, some rose and a lot of soft, plush suede! Not straight leather more of a clean suede to my nose which automatically makes this more feminine leaning as I view heavy leather as more masculine smelling. Idk why. I think the suede wraps around the oud to make it less noticeable- it's really really nice! Kinda vibes with NR Musc Noire minus the musk and make it much darker. I really love this scent I would definitely recommend testing if you're like me and think you probably won't like it. Might surprise you, it did me.

I fell in LOVE at the first sniff. It is a mouthwatering, sexy, mysterious and dark juicy scent that I absolutely adore. I had to have it in my life. I can understand that it is not for anyone, it's very bold and not a safe blind buy. If you like deep, dark & juicy scents with leathery saffron and plum this one is for you too.

I am in love with this scent, something so comforting and luxurious about it, the amaretto notes with the saffron and raspberry blended so well. I love the soft Oud note in the base, it’s very smooth and adds an elegant touch. I am halfway through my bottle, it’s been my summer nights signature scent.

Didn't expect to like this one that much.. I enjoyed every sniff. It's sweet in a very good way, the saffron is not annoying and I get a reminiscing leather, although not listed as a note. You'll enjoy it very much. I have similar fragrances so I won't go for a full bottle, but it is sure worth it
