Pheromones

I purchased sacred bond after sampling it through a kind perfume friend and received the samples of all the other fragrances with my order. So I’ll give my first impressions on all and will edit once I have had the chance to give them a full body wear (I don’t know about you but these small samples for me are always only just enough perfume for 1 first impressions spray and then 1 full body wear). This is in the shared second spot as far as favorites go together with eureka (the favorite being sacred bond). I find it quite a sweet slightly floral fragrance that leans entirely feminine. I cannot pull out any specific notes. It doesn’t remind me of anything else in my vast collection either (200+ bottles and 200+ decants). It’s giving me a warm balmy dry down that is entirely intoxicating - I can’t stop sniffing my arm where I sprayed this. If my full body wear test turns out as positive as my first impression then I definitely see a full bottle in my future. It’s quite unique. I want to keep my sample for a date night though because I’m curious to see if the name lives up to the fragrance! So it might take me a moment to edit.

Pheromones are chemical substances produced by some glands and emitted in the external environment between members of the same species; we could compare them to chemical messengers, which regulate social relationships between animals. Obviously, the first connection upon hearing their name is one of physical attraction: a smell as imperceptible as it is attractive. Pheromones is a sensual, soft fragrance, thanks to the creaminess of saffron which, with the complicity of a very maturing floral part (I perceive the flowers as if they were at the end of their blooming) is enveloping, perfect for a person who with knowledge and experience spreads his or her sensuality, with a small sense of taste for the forbidden. Recently bought this after watching a few reviews. It’s definitely not a blind buy, but a very interesting fragrance to try. My wife loves it on me, she says it smells like a sexy men fragrance, like those villain movie characters. I’ll take that We rate this 8/10 Longevity is 10+ hrs

I’m a big fan of supposedly animalic fragrances, so I was disappointed when this didn’t come across that way. I was expecting something raw, primal and erotic but instead found something grossly synthetic, medicinal and excessively harsh. To my nose, Pheromones is dominated by this refreshing citrusy yet balsamic elemi note which I believe is main culprit of that medicinal smell. Thick and heavy cardamom, intense leathery labdanum and a dirty cypriol take this even further. The scent is definitely stinky and dirty, but in a very fake and clinical way rather than natural and animalic. This scent let me down unfortunately. It just didn’t live up to the quality and praise I’d heard online. If you’re looking for a seductive animalic scent, you won’t find it here.

To me Pheromones opens as a sharp balsamic smoke with a hint of gasoline if smelled directly at the application spot. It is a very synthetic aroma that is not to my liking. As the fragrance progresses it becomes less smoky and more woody and more creamy, but still rather synthetic. Certainly not my favorite fragrance and I will not be repurchasing this. The performance is mediocre with moderate longevity and moderate sillage for the first two hours, then sits close to skin with occasional appearance here and there. I do not recommend this to anyone without sampling first.
