Black Oudh

A natural smelling wood fragrance that isn't hippy. It is a little bit like mulch or a wood chip garden covering. But Black Oudh doesn't get too sour, like so many other wood dominant fragrances I have tried. It has a great vetiver that isn't overpowering or too prominent. A more balanced version of Chanel Sycomore. Having said that, it is not my favorite "forest" scent (I prefer Enchanted Forest, Tam Dao, Winter, Soul of the Forest). I think because it doesn't capture leaves, moss, or berries. Black Oudh is more singular, which makes it more dry and neutral. This also isn't a woodsy scent that gets too resinous. It's restrained and modern. Super wearable, even for every day. I don't like many oud fragrances that I have smelled and some other reviews mention how little oud they smell. Maybe there isn't much in here so it is worth testing before buying. But I dig this!

I was expecting a lot from the hype created for this perfume but it was an absolute disappointment for me. It is exactly similar to Lalique Encre Noire Both have got cypress in the top vetiver in the heart and Musk in the base. I am sorry but I couldn't detect any oudh and smokiness in it. It is definitely dark heavy and earthy like encre noire. The only difference is that encre noire is bit more complex it evolves into somewhat sour in the drydown while Black oudh remains linear and although it is eau de parfum it dies out quickly and left behind as a skin scent for initial one hour projection is good. No complaints regarding bottle and packaging it looks premium and sprayer does fairly goodjob. It is not a bad fragrance but it is not unique I already owned encre noire so no need of having this I blind bought it but it didnt come upto my expectations I was looking for some serious smoky oudh and it isnot the one... Those who dont have encre noire it might be a good substitute. It is well suited for evenings and winters. It is not versatile let me remind you like encre noire... My overall rating is 7 out of 10. It should be correctly named as Black Vetiver. I think.adding oudh in.the name and notes list is just marketing thing to attract masses....

It's really a vetiver scent, not much oudh going on. Reminiscent of Encre Noir as another reviewer already noted, but a touch more expensive and not obviously offering much more or different. Not bad but nothing special.

I agree with Omer having just tried this perfume this morning. The scent has almost disappeared even after two sprayings. Nice enough but do I want to spray a perfume every hour?

Classy. Soapy bitter Oud. Eau de cologne concentration at best though, this was completely gone half an hour in.
