Ambre

Originaly I pushed the dislike button and have not picked it up in over two years but today someone asked me about it so I decided to spray it on the back of my hand and wow, it's absolutely gorgeous. Exactly what I love, How can this be? All the perfumes I loved I'm not liking so much these days and all the ones I thought I not love I now love. I'm confused but happy to have rediscovered Reminiscence Ambre This is very smooth, sweet, clean, not loud, kinda baby powder type Amber. I must be going through a olfactory sense change as today I love this scent and am going to give it another go. Lucky I tried it again. I'll report back after a really good wearing. Update After a heavy spritz, 5 down each arm and 5 to the torso at around 9pm, it's now 9am and she is still going strong, absolutely beautiful Amber very sweet and feminine. So longevity is very good as she is showing no signs of fading yet. I say she because after wearing mostly Ambre Fetich for the last few years as my amber of choice, this one does come across as the beautiful sweet sister. 15 sprays may sound a lot but this bottle has a very good sprayer that does a fine, light mist, and the perfume it's self is one that starts of quiet then works it's way up, so the longer it's been on my skin the better it's actually got. Second update After the original drenching I've not reapplied and this is still going strong 24 hours later, unbelievable I know but true, it really makes me wonder how long this would last on me if I never had to take a shower lol I highly recommend this fragrance to young people who love vanilla but want to get in to amber because this is a great sweet, long-lasting Amber. A+

Many long years ago, when I was but a charming maid, I bought a very pretty little wooden box, about 1.5' x 1", with a pierced wooden top inlaid with brass. In that box was a chunk of amber that I think was intended to be used as a dry perfume, something you would rub behind your ears maybe. I can't remember if I bought it in a co-op or an apothecary's or a head shop (does that make it more likely that it was a head shop?). I still have it. Over the years the amber has dried out and become a mass of glinting fibers, but it still smells terrific, like sweet, dessicated woody-powder. Amber Reminiscence is more like that amber than any other amber perfume I've ever encountered. It's rich and lasting and deep. I don't smell much of anything other than amber in this, a bit of musk, maybe, a touch of vanilla's richness, but the amber is so good and so mouth-watering that it hardly matters. A very good perfume for situations where a pefumey perfume would be inappropriate. Edit: I wore this all day, to a party no less, and for me the sillage is perfect, about arm's legnth. I've never wanted to drag a trail of scent behind me, making eyes water wherever I go. And it's been eight hours, and I can still smell it when I move. Really lovely.

I blind bought two 100ml bottles of Ambre for 20€ each and I didn't expect that it smells so good. First of all even though that the olfactory pyramid suggests all the ingridients that we need to make a decent amber pie, Reminiscence Ambre is not an amber scent to me nose. This fragrance doesn't change much and what I get is a thick creamy-powdery bubble of (white) Musk and (warm) Ambergris with a delicate topping of Vanilla and Geranium, which makes the scent some kind of sparklier. Now, I am not a big fan of the Vanilla but it is here so perfectly blended that it is hardly detectable even as a main ingredient. Ambre goes in the same direction as Amouage Gold (woman) (but not as refined as Amouage!) and has a little bit of that oldschool aldehydic vibe, but it is not démodé at all. This fragrance is more animalic than you think therefore even not a dark and a loud one, go easy on the trigger, becuse that heavy Ambregris will hit you right in the stomach for sure. Ambre is an unisex perfume with a very good projection and longevity and it worths every penny. If you like Ambergris you should check Colonia Ambra by Acqua di Parma as well.

Having read the very mixed reviews here, i was a bit apprehensive blind ordering this, but I love their Patchouli so i went and ordered it. OMG. By far one of the best amber scents out there. For years I’ve been on the search for either another bottle of the best amber scent i ever smelled, from small Moroccan perfumer, L’Orientalist Marrakech, or similar replacement. I even looked for it in Marrakech, but sadly they seem to have closed their shop. So if anyone knows of any bottle floating somewhere PLEASE 🙏🏼 let me know! Back to Reminiscence Amber... soft, warm, what to me smells like pure amber Plenty of vanilla in there, I don’t get clove at all, perhaps a tiny bit of geranium just right at the start. But only if I really try and look for it Otherwise it’s just nuzzly, soft, cashmere scarf type of scent, I could drown in it Love love love

I had read somewhere that many French women wear this fragrance, and I have great respect for French women's taste and style. I also love amber tremendously so I purchased this blindly. Ambre has a wonderful quality of being both spicy and rich as well as sparkling and somewhat fresh. This gives the fragrance a great radiance. The drydown on me has a slight reference to Guerlain's Mitsouko or Chamade, I'm not sure which. This is such an easy fragrance to wear and compared to other ambers that I have tried, Reminiscence Ambre is light and bright while retaining just enough of that earthy hippie vibe.

it is an "old" perfume, but really not an old fashioned one. i was surprised how god this one smells. it's strong, but in a kind of calming way. After an hour patchouli comes out, and i can imagine that this perfume was hippies' favorite :). In that moment i smell (or feel) something that all perfumes from 70-ties have. I can't put my finger on it, but it's something that puts that great perfume in that era, and makes him one of my favorites.

Wow! This amber perfume is deep and wonderful! It's soft and strong at the same time. I think both sexes could pull this off. It's classy, sexy and it smells very expensive. Fancy!

This is gorgeous! It is recognizably Amber, but not in the super-sweet end of things. Amber and rose and warm skin. Complex, lasts for hours, your skin but better.

A Gorgeous Rich Warm Amber Benzoin and Patchouli. It does remind me of Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan. Best in the colder weather.

I read the review below about "nursery clerk" and "Eau d'Baby Wipe No5" and knew I had to buy it! XD It sounded like one of those clean scents I would enjoy... and it is. It kinda one of those fragrances that smell like you're not wearing perfume. It actually would fit in very well with other Chanels. No5 is not the only aldehyde Chanel has - they also have more expensive fragrances like 1957 and Venice-Paris that are also in the same lane of "clean girl aesthetic". This one would fit right in with them. This is my first impression. It may change as I experienced that the Vanille Santal from this brand changed over time, and I went from wanting to sell it to loving it: I don't really like No5 - it's over-used IMO, but I do like other perfumes that share some of the notes, but have a different take on them. To me, this is better than Chanel No5, as the aldehydic notes in that are very strong. It feels like they cling to the inside of my nose as if I'd stuffed some soap up there. This perfume doesn't have that quality. However, it also seems to be a weaker perfume in general. I've tried it on my skin, but I need to try it out all over my clothes to really understand how it behaves. I too agree that this doesn't smell like amber, but like ambergris. It luckily has a very barely detectable sourness on me (my skin brings out sweet notes). Otherwise, I think the accords of this, listed at the top of the page, are totally off. To me this is mainly aldehydic (like Chanel No5), then it's aldehydic, then it's also aldehydic, then it's some kind of wood, ambergris and musk. I don't think this smells like amber, I don't smell any cedar, definitely no patchouli, and no vanilla. It's a very barely sweet, clean aldehyde. The sweetness is from the labdanum, I think.

I didn't expect this perfume to be created in 1970. It's older than me actually. It's a very interesting amber scent. I'm not sure if amber should be a warm or cold note, but this amber is quite cold smelling in the background, like cold powder. It's very rich and intense at first spray and then it slowly gets smoother and smoother on skin. Especially the labdanum as ambery note is very evident, then vanilla and a tonka bean edge even if no tonka bean is listed. This scent holds a special place in my heart for no reason. It simply gives me a kind of soothing feeling and feminine comfort. It's an all-feminine scent, like the scent of a doll with more oomph. I don't know if it can be considered a sexy scent, but it's surely cuddling and a little bit teasing. It gives me an image of a rich romantic teenager's bedroom full of white lace curtains and white comfy linen. Comfortable, sweet and young at heart. Longlasting and with a good sillage.

A powdery, dusty Amber with good performance. The soft cloud of scent stayed with me for several hours both times I wore it. This is a nice, well blend composition, with no single note is sticking out. Considering this came out 51 years ago, it doesn’t smell dated. Patchouli and vanilla is present but it doesn’t overwhelm. Overall I’m impressed with this budget friendly line.

i get mostly vanilla, benzoin and ambergris. this is not a deep, powdery amber, but more like a subdued, softly musky amber that definitely leans to smelling like a vintage perfume somewhat. the vanilla comes out even more after being on the skin about half an hour. i get a hint of cloves. no patchouli or woods.

Many years ago this was what a very dear friend of mine used to wear. So for me its THE Amber I compare all other Ambers with. And of course, I want it.

I am quite positive I bought Amber botlle with Patchouli perfume inside.

At least it smells fresh & clean. Not at all what I expected, sadly.

I so wanted to love this one, but unfortunately on me it smells like a old closet. Very long lasting, like all fregrances that don't seem to convince me work on my skin. The reason why baffles me: I guess it's alla about skin chemistry because I love all the single notes that are in it. Even tho I'm not a fan it's a perfume that has character. I would not suggest a blind buy, try it first to check how it develops on you.

Aquatic musk! It started quite pretty with that amber sweet mix, then settled to an aquatic, seafoam, musk! it smells like sea side sweat somehow, with traces of fishy note with some powdery touch! Weird result, and dry down.

On my skin it opens up with a kind of soapy-shampoo scent. I don't get the amber at all. An amber based perfume to me must be very rich and deep like Ambre Sultan. In the drydown it gets a little better, kind of powdery.

I love amber, it's one of my favorite notes. This one is very soapy. It's amber but not the type of amber that I gravitate toward. It's a like. Oh, it's very very weak too. Like a body spray.

I'm coming back to this perfume after not smelling it for about 6 months. It's still a big no for me. It smells like pure soap and nothing more, nothing less. An unfortunate blind buy...🙁

It took me several months to realize it smells like quince jam, reminding me of childhood!

I'm glad I didn't blind buy this. I usually love any kind of amber perfumes but this one is very cloying. It has a hairspray chemical smell that is really off putting. It is very screechy, which is strange for me because ambers for me usually come across warm and comforting. There is a bad aftershave quality that is also coming through on my hand, like a bad 70's hairspray combined w/ a cheap 70's aftershave. I get some almond coming through, but it is just overpowered by the screechy notes of hairspray and aftershave, an aftershave w/ a very cheap musk note. I just downgraded this to a hate. This is bad stuff.

I love amber, but I also like balance. On me I get resins/amber and really nothing else. I think that if you don't mind amber-esque fragrances that have no other notes, this could be for you. If you want some complexity in a fragrance, test this first before blind buying.

وصف سريع للعطر انه عطر كريمي او بلمسي عنبري دافئ رومنسي العطر لن تشعر ابدا بتواجد القرنفل في بدايته او الجيرانيوم ومن المفترض ان يشكل هذا الثنائي بداية منعشة وحادة ولكن اعتقد انها وضعت بلمسة خفيفه اذا ما ستلحظ في بداية العطر انه البنزوين رائحته ساقربها هي قريبة من رائحة الفانيلا مع رائحة كرائحة كريم بيلي تعرف كريم بيلي اللي يستخدمونه النساء وكذلك الموجود عند الحلاقين اللي لونه احمر هذا هي رائحة العطر من يعشق رائحة هذا الكريم ورائحة المكياح سيعجب بهذا العطر اجدة نسائي اكثر منه رجال اذا باختصار العطري ابطاله الثلاثة البنزوين والعنبر والفانيلا العبير الغالب على العطر هي عبير البنزوين بالوصف المذكور اعلاه لم اجرب الثبات الفوحان لكن اعتقد انها جيدة ملاحظة للامانه انا لم اطلع على زيت البنزوين او بودرة البنزوين حتى اميز رائحتة ولكن من خلال القراءة السابقة استخلصت واستطعت انه اميز انه الرائحة الغالبه في هذا العطر والواضحة هي رائحته وان كنت مخطئ الرجاء التصحيح الرجاء وضع لايك في حال افادك التعليق. ولاتنس ذكر الله والصلاة على النبي

I always think too much ambergis would kill me, I couldn’t stand its cloying potency and how head-aching it could be when it comes in a big doze. Thankfully Reminiscence Ambre is more into a soft soapy manifest of amber. It’s definitely an amber fragrance but it’s moderately subtle and has a baby-powder aspect. If you are a big fan of heavy amber or if you expect that this one would act like its sibling, Reminiscence Patchouli, which fits its name extremely well, you might be disappointed. This is a nice pleasant amber, get along very well with my bed time mood.

I am an Amber queen. I love Amber and it's a must-have in every perfume, well almost every perfume I purchase. I believe this to be one of the most beautiful Ambre perfume around. It's sweet amber with a hint of soft vanilla and I don't know why but I also seem to get hints of patchouli. I have to admit that I have the Vanille, Patchouli, Tonka, Ambre, and 4 others. Reminiscence is wonderful when it comes to scents I love. If you love amber, you will love this scent. The lasting power is good and usually, perfumes don't seem to last as long on me.

The opening spiciness scared me a little - that geranium note is strong. But it settles into a balmy amber that simply melts into your skin. It's a little bit powdery, and the sandalwood is fairly noticeable too. Thankfully it's not medicinal as amber tends to be, maybe because there's no real amber in this according to the pyramid anyway. Sillage is nice but it doesn't have huge projection, which is fine. A perfectly good amber scent. I like Prada Amber better though, it's a bit sweeter and a little more interesting.

This is my third Reminiscence fragrance and I’ve got to say I’m fast becoming a fan of theirs. It took me a couple of goes before I really got this, because for some reason I was expecting it to be a bit spicier. I was quite startled at how sweet this seemed when it first went on, but it settled quickly. It’s quite lovely; it feels warm and soft and so very comforting. I don’t get much of the clove at all in this, but I do get a lot of powder. Longevity is great – I get a good seven to eight hours out of this.

This is the best amber I've tried so far! It even beats L'Occitane's Amber imo (and that one is strong, ladies and gents). Very warm..Smells like fire- I think that's how some God/Goddess of fire would smell like in ancient Greece. The staying power is very good too.. Just like other creations from this house it might be great for layering with other frags if you feel like adding a little something to it. PS' This smells lovely on a man!

Softest amber I've encountered yet. It has that well worn-in quality I also have found in Annick Goutal Musc Nomade, but feels like an old leather sofa or pair of gloves rather than soft fabric, if that makes sense. Very, very comfortable and comforting to wear. There's something in the smell I recognize but can't place, something well-known to me-but what? Full-bottle worthy!

It's called "Ambre" but it does not smell like amber. When first spray there are soft cloves and powder. As it develops, wood comes out, vanilla, and more powder. There is also a warm quality, which could be from the minuscule amounts of amber. On me, I find it is very soft and skin like. Reminds of my grandmother's guest rooms how they were dusty yet welcoming.

I've had a fresh bottle of this on hand since discovering it over 20 years ago - keep buying a new one when I run out. I wear it alone, but more often, I use it to layer underneath a lighter scent (Chanel Chance, Versense, DG Light Blue, etc). In the end, the lighter scents evaporate, and all my clothes and car smell like this Ambre. It is that brilliant.

this one is too much balmy for me! I love deep perfumes, balmy and spicy but this one is way too heavy and not that young in my opinion. It gave me a huge headache every time i tried to wear it and to give it another chance, so i gave it away at the end. Too much balm and spices...too much patchouli and labdanum.

This perfum for me is very specific...it reminds sharp sweet warm amber-vanille-benzoin smell of india's stick incenses... Scent is very strong, linear, it has a big longevity and good projection

What a shame - I was hoping for something warm, spicy and vanillic and on my skin this is sharp and soapy. Zero projection and poor longevity. Tonka and Patchouli remain my absolute favourites.

This and Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan are my two holy grail amber scents. Very warm and rich, just the perfect balance of amber/patchouli and vanilla. It gets tons of compliments!

Semi sticky/sweet perfume. It comes artificial, the aroma is nearly like from patisserie. Longevity is good. I dont find it attractive to my nose.

Strong smell, really classy but sexy. Don't have it, yet, but this one is on the wishlist.

This one is a soapy, vintage amber. Not one for me.
