Crazy Rem

I also thought of Hypnotic Poison while smelling Crazy Rem. So I do a side-by-side comparison right now of CR, HP first edition and HP recent edition. Crazy Rem is like the funny sister of Hypnotic, especially in the dry down, where they are very alike. In the top of Crazy Rem I definatially get a whiff of the original Rem, which means it leans slightly towards Womanity in a way. I find the original Rem revolting, I have to add; I like Womanity and can bear Aqua Motu, just to get you the frame of my taste here. To me this salty smell can give the impression of warm skin at the beach, but it also can smell anti-perfumery if too heavy. In comparison to Hypnotic CR is sunny and positive and bright, I also get a little suntan lotion. Therefor it is really beachy: Rem ( = hot sea) + suntan lotion (coconut, ylang ylang, tiare, tuberose, vanilla, sandalwood). Hypnotic on the other hand is very foggy from the start, especially the first edition with the funky stripes on the box (the recent has lost a lot of fogginess, smells more raunchy and much much lighter, especially on the sandalwood). First edition starts like recent edition, but recent gets weaker while first goes stronger with time. Talking of projection monster strong here. Actually I think the coconut and sandlewood makes Rem and Hypnotic sisters, the similarities are there from the middle to the end. Crazy Rem is a sister of the recent edition of Hypnotic, though. The first edition goes a different direction with it's heaviness and projection. To me Hypnotic Poison always evokes a melancholic feeling, which stops me from wearing it. It's like HP is holding something back, like a beautiful woman, to whom something happend that was very grave and that let her be warily of life; it is a very serious perfume. This is especially true for first edition, recent is more like sweet "meh". Crazy Rem gives it a very nice positive twist and frees the perfume from all this gravity; I might be tempted to buy a bottle as a summer frag, but I'll wait until I get my hands on EL Bronze Goddess 2013. If you are a fan of HP and you are looking for something similiar for summer, this might be a good catch. You have to like the salty sea cream smell of Womanity, though, because this is what you get in addition.

come tutti i profumi rem fin qui testati, si tratta di una fragranza estiva, marina che ricorda spiagge e vacanze (sigh). nel caso specifico l'accordo delle note di fondo è più legnoso, per via del sandalo. l'apertura è invece, come al solito, acquosa, leggermente dolce (vaniglia bourbon e ylang ylang) e leggermente muschiata. bassissima persistenza, più un'acqua che un profumo vero e proprio. gradevole, nel complesso, ma i classici "marini" di rem a me piacciono decisamente di più

I could swear it has a coconut note it it, but apparently not :) Must be the sandalwood, ylang, tuberose and pepper that are creating such sensation. Coconut, vanilla and fresh air - this is what I'm getting here. Nice projection, longevity, quality. Fun, well-balanced, seductive, young scent for a crazy summer.

Con questo a tratti è amoreodio. Amore perchè è molto intenso e dona alla pelle un profumo di fiori e frutti estivi succosi, odio sempre per la stessa intensità, che a volte me lo fa sembrare stucchevole. Mi piace e sono felice di averlo, ma non credo che lo riacquisterò una volta terminato.

I love this for summer... it has a sunscreen type of smell. Brings me back to my teens. It's soft, sweet and has a little zing at the beginning. But I can't find it anymore :(

This is a scent that has grown on me a lot over the last weeks. The bottle threw me off. First of all it is one of the ugliest perfume bottles I have ever seen. That's why Crazy Rem lives in a drawer while all my other favorites are on display. Secondly, both bottle and marketing scream 80ies tropical teenage party and that is pretty much the opposite of what I'm looking for in a fragrance. For some reason I couldn't let it go and kept trying it out in different settings and at different temperatures and as soon as I put aside the bottle-induced expectations and just took it for what it was I really started to like it... a lot. The middle and base notes of sandelwood, vanilla, ylang and tuberose give it a sweet and dense creaminess that is nice but nothing special. But it is the top notes of pepper and bergamot that really lift Crazy Rem to another level. They add a fresh spicyness to it that stays with you for hours and sets Crazy Rem apart from anything else I ever tried. Crazy Rem has nothing at all in common with all the other aquatic versions of Rem, especially not the marine freshness of the original Rem. In my book Crazy Rem is a cold weather fragrance because vanilla, sandelwood and pepper are distinct cozy sweater types of scents for me. So don't be afraid to look past the teenage summer fun promised by the bottle, forget any aquatic references to the rest of the Rem series and try it with a completely open mind. With its good sillage and way above average longeivity you will not be disappointed.

This is a fresh and fruity scent. The flowers, ylang and tuberose (could easily be gardenia), emphasize the fruity, sweet and tropical aspects, toning down any soapy, dewy or green parts of the flowers that you might be used to. This is the kind of tuberose that reads bubble gum, almost banana/acetone like. It's sunscreen-y without any trace of coconut or prominent vanilla. The most similar perfume I can come up with is without doubt Full by Al Rehab, very low priced. If you're really in love with this kind of scent, there are several of its kind and for all budgets. This one lacks the vanilla that I crave. I would probably go for Bronze Goddess by Estee Lauder or Songes by Annick Goutal instead.

I wanted to love this so much, especially since I read that it has a coconut scent in it. I received my bottle and put it on and had a severe allergy attack and it gave me a headache. It sure does last a long time because I couldn't quit smelling it the rest of the day. It reminds me of Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude but much stronger. I don't know what that offensive ingredient is that smells so strong but it's not for me. I looked at the ingredients above and usually don't have issues with the ones listed so I just don't know... I love Reminiscence perfumes. I own so many of them but I will sell this one.

To Bluefalcon07: Don't be afraid if the pyramid is not exhaustive, hardly ever they are. They just declare a small part of the ingredients which are always many more (normally even minimal fragrances can be very rich as well) just to give a general idea of the kind of perfume. So if your nose tells you that there's coconut, you'd better trust it ! ; )

This is summer!!! The scent of the coconut suggests the seaside. It is strange that a coconut is not in the perfume pyramid.
