Eau de Patchouli

I *LOVE* this fragrance so.so.so. much!!! I'm devastated that Eau de Patchouli has been discontinued. I'm halfway through my 100ml. bottle and wish-wish-wish I could repurchase, to always have my Eau de Patchouli at hand. This scent is so extremely cozy, comforting, cuddly and warm on me. I instantly feel good when I spray this on, and it blends so perfectly well with my skin chemistry! Definitely my signature scent <3 The sandalwood, amber, vanilla, and tonka are easy to discern and create a fuzzy warm feeling. Obviously the star player is patchouli, but it's the warm and cozy / incensey kind; not the green/herbal and earthy variety. I'm personally less familiar with benzoin and labdanum, but I'm convinced they play a major role in the superb blending and overall comforting base of this masterpiece. For reference, I love patchouli in all it's incarnations, and even though Eau the Patchouli is not necessarily a 'typical' patchouli (it's softer, more well-blended, nuanced and vanillic than I'd usually go for) - I've completely and utterly fallen in love with this perfume. I also own and love Reminiscence's 'Patchouli', that is still around - for a very affordable price at that. There's similarities for sure, they're definitely sister-scents, and I do really love the base of that as well. I often use it combined with Eau de P.; to prolong my irreplaceable bottle.. Still, I would gladly give my left arm for a lifetime supply of Eau de Patchouli - which to my nose is sooo much more refined, special, and cozy, than anything their 'regular' Patchouli will ever be! I'm tempted to try Patchouli Elixir - even though Inoubliable Elixir (that has also been discontinued), is supposed to be more of a match for Eau de Patchouli. Wishhhh I would have stocked up when I could!!

What a bliss for all patchouli lovers! So warm, sweet, nutty, comforting and easy-going, a little bit earthy and musky at that. The muskiness is what differentiates Eau Patchouli from Inoubliable Patchouli Elixir that is sweeter and more rounded although it has a distinct dungeon and wet earth smell. I must admit I am impressed by these two creations by Reminiscence and looking forward to checking out their other products. In terms of longevity they are both great and definitely worth the price - they last and last on skin and simply cannot disappear from clothes unless you wash them. Sillage is lesser here than in the case of Elixir yet still great for an EDT! For casual occassions Eau de Patchouli is just the right choice, especially when the muskiness does not bother you, whereas Elixir seems more refined and better for special moments. Eau de Patchouli has become my winter staple this frosty season and I higly recommend getting it for patchouli freaks out there. You'll get enveloped by a warm and sweetly musky patchouli blanket on a nippy day and immediately feel better!

All natural not fooled around Patchouli it does not have the oily greasy synthetic feel in most patchouli perfumes it's dry and comfortable to your skin i just like the way the Sandalwood opens strongly it mixes beautifully with the patchouli dries warmly with amber with milky note of benzoin and dries to an powder nuances of vanilla, Labdanum sweetish in smell ends this fragrance with the patches of musk. this is my favorite scent from the patchouli series not oily nor synthetic just comfortable to wear.

I am not a big fan of oriental fragrance but i bought it based on the reviews. From the first sniff i smelled only patchouli. After a half on hour I still smelled ... patchouli. So masculine. I gave it another chance and then I waiting. Finally, another smell: vanilla. And remains. So, I tryng to get used to it )

I'm waiting for a full bottle to arrive. Can't wait. Still looking for a lovely patch fragrance after I had to conclude that Patchouli Antique Les Nereides was not the one for me, neither was Tom Ford's White Patchouli. The search goes on..... It seems that Reminiscence also got a fragrance called Patchouli L'Eau. It's not listed on fragrantica though. Does anybody know that perfume? To be continued! Interested in a SWAP? Edit: Unfortunately, the one I ordered seemed to be Patchouli L'Eau and not Eau de Patchouli. It's a lovely fragrance, but too ambery and powdery for me. Is there anyone out there interested in a swap? I like to swap this beauty for another version of Reminiscense Patchouli's or another patchouli fragrance. Please send me a pm. Thanks!

Apart from patchouli from the notes listed above I could only detect benzoin and tonka bean..First spray- blast of patchouli, imagine having a walk in a rainy forest and all of a sudden falling face down- you have a blast of a smell of warm wet dirt from the ground, the smell of fresh and decaying leaves. In a few hours the smell calms down a bit, you now got up from your fall and are bathing in the sun in that very same forest- there is still a strong smell of leaves and earth, but something like a smell of freshly cut wood has creeped in. I personally enjoy the smell, I love patchouli..But would not dare buying that beauty :) You need to be really dedicated to patchouli in order to pull that off :P

Bought it unsniffed, and it's beautiful! Powdery, incense, musky patchouli. I find it better then the elixir, it's softer and less sharp. Update: Just bought 'Patchouli Antique' from Les Nèreìdes... The difference between them, is that Eau de Patchouli smells more ambery to mee now. Patchouli Antique is much softer, more vanilla and much more vintage patchouli, more powdery. Eau de patchouli is sharper, sweeter and has some freshness. Both are nice, but the real chic, bohémian patchouli will be Patchouli Antique. I use them both at the same time. Spray my body with Eau de Patchouli, and on the pulse point some drops Antique.

This is my very first venture into the realm of Patchouli. Before I sprayed myself for the first time, I braced myself, heeding the warning given by the previous reviewer regarding the "falling face down into the dirt... and smelling the decaying leaves". Well, she sure wasn't kidding!! The first 10 minutes was kind of shocking, almost unpleasant, BUT!... my goodness, the dry down is amazing! Warm and cuddly amber and vanilla soon arrive enveloping you in a comforting haze for a few short hours.

Another win for me! This is such a beautiful, warm and sweet Patchouli. Not too sweet that it's sickening or nauseating to me. Very comforting and classic. I love it from the top notes to the drydown but I want to keep spraying it to get the top notes. It feels like an addiction to me-uhoh.
