Oud

First of all, I'm not an oud lover and sort of checking if this note can grow on me in some civilised form. I do agree this one comes in civilised dose, regardless the fact it is 'real' oud or not. At first I was scared of its harshness and masculinity, but after the bottle rested to breathe for a few days, it's getting more smooth and inoffensive. Which is, by the way, typical for Reminiscence fragrances - they all need at least a couple of days to show their true form. To get past the masculine harshness, you need about 15-20 minutes. Then it becomes a smooth, skin scent that is perfectly unisex and mysteriously sexual. I agree it is not sexy but sexual, animalic and dirty. Relatively dark but not in a churchy, incense style. I haven't yet made up my mind about it being worn by a woman, but I'll give it a try, even if as a base for layering. Totally agree this one is insanely sexual on a man, from a hetero woman perspective. A perfect scent in BDSM scenery for a male predator / primal play.

Whether it's Oud or just smells like it, who cares? I like this. Alot. I have many oud perfumes, including Oud For Greatness, and a few from Penhaligon's.. But, I'm not a snob about it, and frankly, if it smells good, then considering the price, it shouldn't matter. Good is good. This gets compliments, it's very good. It has a warm spicy woody opening and the dry down is much the same. It really holds it's own. If you are an oud fan and want a deal on a decent perfume that gets compliments, this is for you. Very unisex. Also, if you are missing Patchouli Elixer ( I found it in Poland!) while this one doesn't smell exactly like it, you might be happy with this one too. And you can actually find it. For a deal. 9/10 performance 9/10 overall.

quaint, cosy gem of a fragrance that makes me think of a gingerbread cookie; charming, soft and comforting take on spices and woody notes - rather delicate and radiant, exudes subtle warmth; slighly sweet, more softly spicy gourmandish than woody and definitely oud is extremely dialled down and well behaved here (more befitting name should be something like ‚Cardamom honey biscuit’ not Oud really); despite low-key, cosy vibe the scent is not simplistic (although quite linear) - it holds attention and makes me want to explore and ponder its well balanced facets of gourmand spicy, woody and honeyed layers comforting, charming, quietly interesting fragrance, I already plan on stocking up this fantastic find

I like the confident quiet state it encourages. This is from a new bottle. Update 9/15/23: My husband wore this and on him I was able to get another impression, which is, if a fennel bulb were a hairy mammal that exuded musk. And it has a balance between coolness and warmth. Projection is huge on a cool, rainy day. Oddly I've found that during days of dry heat, Reminiscence Oud is *less* powerful.

Enveloping fragrance, mysterious, very sensual, full of great charm and freshness. Unlike the typical Ouds of important particularly imposing and overbearing oriental brands, Oud by Reminiscence appears light, fresh, almost evanescent, impalpable. Amber fragrance, warm spicy with great charisma.

Oh, wow. Didn't expect THIS brand to come out with the best oud I've ever smelt. I totally agree with the reviewer below. It indeed is a very fluffy, soft, sweet oud. Very elegant and addictive. I would summarize it as a mentholated, ambery oud. Unisex and elegant.

Nice, clean and almost clinical oud that deftly straddles the line between medicinal and funky, doing so through artistic constraint and complimentary notes. It's quietly assertive but never loud, and lasts longer than you might think. The presence of cardamom lends a hint of the classic Oud Wood type vibe, but modulated by light touches of smoky florals and almost imperceptible accents of patchouli/castoreum. On the whole, it's just about the most user-friendly oud I've tried that can still call itself oud with a straight face. Though I like it very much, I feel like it's not quite complete. But that is easily addressed by a spritz of something a tad sweeter/smokier or spicier to push it further in either direction. Works great with Armaf Oud (not an oud at all) or Molinard Cher Wood. Thumbs up. I'd buy this again.

This is the first oud fragrance i ever tried. I am normally a floral fruity kind of girl, but i really liked it. It smells very exotic and mysterious. It has depth and it is at the same time reassuring. It is smokey and creamy. Quite unisex, i wouldn't mind smelling it on a man. My only complaint is longevity. Three hours and it starts to be difficult to smell it. But overall, a great perfume. Thumbs up!

This is a beautiful fragrance, dry,woody with an Oud that's not overpowering making it very much unisex. It's spicy and not overly sweet and settles down all creamy and comforting almost, I find it very wearable as a woman. 8/10

Nice scent, dark and creamy. Definatly feminine, for ages 30+.

This is #46 on my tour of 250 fragrances in 250 days and my first Oud fragrance. I really don't get the attraction of smelling like beauty bark, but to each their own. The opening was sharply chemical, but that settled after a bit. I really laid it on with this stuff and ten minutes later just a hint of leather, wood and an unfamiliar chemical smell remained. The chemical smell disappeared in about an hour into a fairly nondescript skin scent of leather wood and amber, not unpleasant, but almost indetectable, like someone put a light spritz of English Leather into your closet. I don't hate this scent, but I don't see any reason for anyone to wear it either. Maybe I am just not an Oud person.

this starts with oud, cardamom and pink pepper. something in this smells sort of...damp, for lack of a better word. maybe it's castoreum? later on i get a lot of saffron and patchouli. no rose or amber as far as i can tell. it's primarily an earthy oud with hints of pepper.

I love Reminiscence perfumes, but there is something in the opening of this one that smells like hashish (cannabis resin) to me. Even now an hour later, after it has dried down quite a bit, I can still smell it. I will test it on the BF to see if it's just me. I'm glad I tested this one first. UPDATE: Okay, the boyfriend does not smell hashish. He says he smells something similar to "a meadow of wild grass". (No pun intended with the "grass" : ) In his opinion, this smells awesome and expensive. So I gave him my decant. Then he sprayed it on himself and I swear it smells sexual (not sexy) on him. Now I don't want him wearing this to work. lol So, this is a unisex perfume. Just goes to show, different noses, different body chemistry, different results. So don't take these reviews as absolute truth.

This is wow so nice. But as good as it smells as soon it disappears. It's a shame a bit because dry down is not at all masculine to me. I really like it however leathery note is very strong at the beginning and that's the reason i wouldn't wear it myself.

Very bad with very very weak oud I was impressed by their patchouli but this is an insult to their launch with the name OUD. Total waste of money. Not worth even $10.

A bit harsh in opening quickly settles onto a fluffy and dry cloud. In short : Warm sweet-spices and mild oud. Good longevity, not much sillage but rather sitting close on skin (for ages) It is very warm and elegant version of oud. Smells very refined to me. This is not animalic, neither stinky (as some peolle say) but refined and sort of delicate oud. I would say that it is a daytime scent. Good for work office, where femininity is not appreciated 😉 When layared with Vanagloria by Laboratorio Olofactivo it becomes some magical pot of sedductive aura. More suitable for evenings and winter. Very nice perfume with a bit of character. I will be getting another bottle soon, due to some crazy changes to the barnd that Reminiscence is introducing recently.... 😎 I would rather not wait till they distroy this beuty 🙄

What a great find this was. It’s a true creamy Oud scent without complex added notes. It lasts about three to four hours on my skin, but for me that’s perfect because Oud can be so overpowering in other more expensive products. Don’t get me wrong, Tom Ford’s Oud Wood and Creed’s Royal Oud are among my favourite fragrances. But this gives you a real Oud hit without the high cost and without having to live with Oud all day long. It’s also interesting to blend with Tom Ford’s Tuscan leather. A good, softer Oud alternative for all Oud fans.

A pleasant and easy to wear perfume. If you know Lattafa Qaa'ed, then you are very close to the flavor of Rem Oud, but in a more refined, finer, more European variant. Otherwise very similar. Good longevity, medium projection, but constant. Close relative of Montale Dark Aoud, only here we have a slightly darker dry down, an older brother. Don't forget Dunhill Icon Absolute. For a maximum of 40 E, it's a successful purchase.

I love this, very unique, and an original take on an Oud. I wish this was stronger though, having had several bottles of the Patchouli, a real power-house of a frag, I was expecting similar, but sadly this is very mellow by comparison. Starts off quite medicinal, which I like, then sweetens in the dry down and there's something reminiscent of Dior's Sauvage - gorgeous. Loving it, just wish it had more intensity, more oomph!

Un oud asciutto, legnoso, leggermente cuoiato, moderatamente speziato. Il profumo è gradevole ed elegante ma sento poco la nota patchouli e il calore del cioccolato. Austero e chic, non da scia, non potente. In evoluzione emergono zafferano e cardamomo, ma in punta di piedi, con discrezione. La nota legnosa è predominante. Algida e raffinata. Bello ma eccessivamente rigoroso.

Evening,TopBase here, Listening to some good Oldies from Bowie,glass of whisky, sample scenting on my arm: got Oud Reminiscence : firt thought in my mind: " I know this fragrance" , it's NASOMATTO' s BLACK AFGHANO !!!!!! So I think either it's a CopyCat, either boyboy from Amsterdam sold his beautiful formula. That's why it is so difficult to buy BA. Just wanna let you know

Gorgeous opening (something reminds me of M7), slightly sweet drydown. More feminine than masculine but totally unisex. Good staying power and projection, I would say better than M7 new formulation. The amber in this is very similar to Akkad, Lubin. EDIT: If you test it on your skin, be aware this is very tenacious and almost impossible to scrub off.

Dry, woody, wild.. this fragrance makes me feel like a pirate. It's the same emotion of Idole by Lubin and Eau de Navigateur by L'Artisan Parfumeur. Luckily it's not suffocating. I think that a woman can wear it if she needs to feel confident, if she wants to swim againist the tide. It is a very sexy fragrance. And I think that on a man it's perfect.

I can see the comparison to Santal Royal but without the Cinnamon not. This is more of a soft but loud scent depending of the time of year you wear this. it is good and it is worth the shipping wait! I can say this is a close clone of a Maison Francis K. Oud and i know that's saying alot but it is true.

A basic, non-barnyard, very wearable oud fragrance. None of the supporting notes interfere enough to keep this from being workable if blended with your own essential oils should you choose. Drydown softens and sweetens this perfume. I think this is a good introduction to the tree tears note. ✨

I have tested this a couple of hours ago and I must say it's gorgeous! Very sexy too, however IMO this is a bit too masculine, it's quite mellow but it will take a certain kind of woman to pull this off. Thinking about a man wearing this makes me have wild fantasies though!!

Amber sweet... Another oud labeled blend that has not oud. So mostly it is European simulation of oud, and it is caramel, amber, cardamom, vanilla, pepper, & woods. Can't deny it is nice, but it's not oud for those who knows what oud is.

+1 i agree totally with the precedent review... I have the same "images" in my mind, gruuuaaarrr
