Cigar Black Oud

Cigar Black Oud... does not have tobacco nor Oud. Misleading name. This frag has a great scent anyway and I'm glad I bought it. It opens a bit harsh with the "cat piss" smell that some people identify in certain perfumes. For me is a very nice cat piss smell. At this stage the fragrance is similar to A*Men - but less sweet - or any of its good clones. The dvelopment seems to not exist and I qualify this fragrance as a preety linear one. The citrus are very faint, and woddy and tonka notes dominate milded by the vanilla and benzoin. After 10 minutes the almost non existent devolpment stops and you get the nicest smell and sillage of this fragrance. The A*Men vibe is a lot fainter and now I get a stronger vibe of Agent Provocateur. Performance is above average with a longevity of 9~10 hours and a sillage of about 5~6 feet. Once you overcome the disappointment of not having Oud or Tobacco as the fragrance name suggests, you end up with a very likeable EDT, with strong woody pleseant notes (very nice wood) tamed by vanilla, cinnamon and tonka. I do recommend this Fragrance. When this flask will finishes, I will buy another bottle. Never try this in high heat to really appreciate this fragrance. I bought this in the summer because the price was great, but thought it was a little stanky but good in composition. Something smelled off. It was the oud (precious woods) note! Not an oud expert, but I know I had a good one or "interpretation". Tried it 4 more times. I went outside today, and the woods and vanilla are so natural and aromatic. So well blended. For a woody musk oud scent, it does not smell dated or a fragrance for a "old man". Also, in the cool weather, the stanky smell was not detectable and mix well with the cinnamon and citrus notes. This doesn't smell synthetic to my nose, in the least. It smells like a niche fragrance level composition. However, it is spicy, woody, damp, and moist type fragrance. If you don't like those type of fragrances, stay away. It also doesn't smell like a cigar "el cheapo" neither. NO TOBACCO SMELL, to me. It smells like an oud (interpretation), Tonka bean, and cinnamon fragrance...period. so well blended. In the cool air, it is a masculine aromatic weapon that is not too far for a woman to try and pull off either. So it is unisex for the adventurous lady--light application of course for all (beastly lol). For clone of TF tobacco vanille, which I have, let's just say I can ...see...the comparison. I have recently obtained a 100ml bottle of Cigar Black Oud as part of a much larger order. Before I begin....I would like to start off by clearing up some misleading information. This fragrance DOES NOT smell like Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. It is in no way similar and as a repeat buyer of TV for many years....I consider myself a reliable source. Now that we have that piece of business out of the way....we can discuss what the fragrance is actually like. As a “cheapie” I am quite pleased with how unique this fragrance is! Although it is synthetic, it delivers a unique blend of very dark accords including one that was not mentioned in the above referenced pyramid....CIGAR TOBACCO. This fragrance is very dark, and very heavy...and the initial spray is a bit harsh ,straight away. The opening settles very quickly into a very dark Vanilla Cigar accord, but the Oud ...or at least the Oud im accustomed to is not very present at all. I enjoy this fragrance for what it is, and if your are a guy that is dark and mysterious...this is one to consider.. Not a bashful or mainstream people pleaser.....is very unique and has attitude , real Cajones.. I’ll wear it with jeans, my chain wallet , my Harley Davidson button down (my Led Zeppelin tee shirt underneath) and my harness cowboy motorcycle boots. This has a very off-putting opening. It is the peru balsam. It can have a charred/charcoal type smell. But it is compelling and I completely love this scent after ten minutes on the skin. The opening is unique. It is neither sexy nor nice, but it does draw attention. The middle is softer and very pleasant. To my nose, it is similar to Musc Ravageur and that is impressive, because it is a wonder. It also reminds me of the drydown phase of Shalimar EDP (that is the one I own). Shalimar is definitely drier, but there is some combination of notes that brings me back to Shalimar, and that is some kind of wonderful. This is a rich and well-blended fragrance. I feel the composition is equal to many far more expensive scents, some I even consider masterpieces meet their equal in the terrible presentation of the ugly black Remy Latour cigar bottle. It is like pouring Champagne Perrier-Jouët from a styrofoam cup. This is some the best money you can spend on an EDT. If you appreciate something different yet grand, try this. If you do not like it, it makes an economical gift. I would only wear it on cooler days and nights.

Fantastic sweet aromatic winter scent. A LOT better than the Cigar Black wood which is a very heavy dark scent. Vanilla, musk, wood and tonka bean give a wood stove burning vibe with chocolate poured over it. Pretty long lasting, on my skin even after 5 hours it was projecting in light breeze and remained for about eight hours on clothes it has to be more. This is for mature guys and not a blind buy safe scent but I really liked the aroma. Can be certainly layered with Al Rehab's' Choco musk for a more gourmand feeling. Great affordable scent for $19 and doesn't smell cheap or synthetic. Scent 7/10 Sillage 8/10 Longevity 8/10 Value 10/10

Sorry guys, this is not it. Whatever it is you’re looking for keep on looking, but if you’re looking for a headache this may be the one. It’s overwhelmingly synthetic chemical and cheap smelling. It’s thin and lacks complexity. You will not impress anyone with this, you’re better off not wearing anything than wearing Cigar Black Oud. The closest in the listed “smells like” frags is Shalimar but this is dollar store version of that. Edit: after about 90minutes it becomes bearable and dries down to a faint woody musk and dirty vanilla. It’s wearable if you take a Tylenol and don’t plan on being around people for the first couple hours.

Not familiar at all with Mehareers and only tried Musc Ravageuer from a sample. However, I'm a lover of L'Air du Desert Marocain. This Remy Latour is not a clone of laddm. There are similarities, though. Performance is excellent. Value for money is superb. It has a smokey vibe that reminds me of what I imagine a Bedouin nighttime campfire out amongst the baking dunes to be like. Ostensibly a winter frag but I'm going to wear this in careful moderation on hot summer evenings. Very pleased with this baby.

This smells really close to pure vanillia extract used for baking it has a strong concentrated vanillia smell just like the extract but this is way more animalic and smokier cause of the peru balsam note that gives it the incense oud vibe. When it dries down most of the harsh opening goes away only some reminiscence of the balsamic notes linger meanwhile large amount of the dry down is just heavy vanilla. Also this lasts forever 100/10 such a great cheapie

Still unique. I still think it is excellent. It starts a bit dirty, then the vanilla smooths that out. Dirty turns to musky and it is complex from beginning to end and the end is long after first spray. This is one of the best cheap bottles for a man anywhere on the market. I agree that it is not for a beginner or someone with just a few bottles because it is challenging in the top notes and deep. This is a gem waiting for you to be found.

12.00 clone of Musc Ravaguer - I could not get over how close this is. And the staying power - atomic. 9/10 for a great clone.

I'm sure most of us know by now that meharees is THE clone to get for musc ravageur. I have meharees, and for the small, 50ml bottle of excellence and quality, it was well worth the $40 or so you have to shell out to order it off ebay. It's an excellent clone of the much more expensive fragrance. Black Oud smells 90% identical to meharees, and therefore musc ravageur, with an almost equal longevity. It doesn't have oud, or anything resembling it. It opens insanely strong, almost off-putting. I put my typical 2 sprays on my hand and was overwhelmed by how powerful this was. No other fragrance I have opened this nuclear. It is LOUD. The opening smells different than meharees/musc and is more potent. Much moreso than meharees. However it settles down in about 15m to the same drydown, albeit a little more of a darker woody vibe, probably where that missing 10% went into. I'll no longer be buying meharees, just as I no longer bought musc ravageur when I found meharees. Instead I'll be picking this one up, despite the horrifically cheesy bottle. The juice inside is what matters, and it's far too cheap to miss. If I had the choice between this or meharees as my clone of preference and they happened to cost the same, I'd pick meharees. Not only for the bottle, but because I prefer that extra 10% that meharees does more than I do black oud. But at this point, that'd be splitting hairs. This is a fine clone, and people should definitely get their nose on it if they like musc ravageur.

I bought this a 3-4 years ago for less than $15 and when I first sprayed it I thought it was one of the worst fragrances I had smelled up until that point. I don’t know if it’s a result of maceration or just that my scent palate developed, but over time this went from a total hate to a strong like. The name is misleading because it indicates “Oud” when the fragrance has no actual oud in it. Rather it’s a powdery, vanillic, slightly smokey, balsamic scent. I also get a nice dose of cinnamon. Someone I know detected the scent in the air and told me that it smelled kind of like a churro. There’s also something slightly animalic in there which I assume is coming from a mix of the musk, amber, and/or benzoin. This may not necessarily be a compliment magnet (especially for the younger crowd), but at the same time I can also see a lot of people liking it. It’s more of a mature scent and although a bit challenging at first, I think it will grow on you. Worth a shot if you're looking for a unique cold weather fragrance with solid lasting power.

Wearing this now on a very cold and wintry day. From the first sniff i really liked it and recognised a prominent unusual but familiar note, which as it turns out is Peru Balsalm. (i thought Peru was on the way out due to IFRA) The frag does not change over time but that's fine. Benzoin/vanilla is also noticeable, and resins and balsalms are my thing. Sweet? yes. Gourmand? Not really IMO - more a cuddly warming scent but without noticeable spices. It actually smells quite simple, but that's not a bad thing. It has some aspect of Tabu to it as well - some ingredient they share. So warm and enveloping in the same way. Unisex for sure. I have not smelled any of the ones it allegedly clones so am taking this as a standalone. Fairly beastly also, go easy! ETA it also remind me of Habanita, as it turns slightly powdery/ sweet-dusty over time.

Remy Latour Black Oud... ...is not the typical oud scent that we all know from so many producers from the UAE for example. It is a smoky and incensy interpretation of a darker oriental. It turns into a smoky, honeyed dry vanilla and it is very similar to Thierry Muglers' A*Man. I do own four Remy Latour Cigar fragrances (cigar commander is missing in my collection) and i can say that the Original and Black Oud are the best interpretation of a dark smoky gentlemen's club tobacco scent. The presentation in that oval shaped metal tin is very nice as well and i was even lucky and received a bottle with a good sprayer which is not always the case with those integrated sprayer from Remy Latour..

This smells very similar to Musc Ravageur and Meharees L`Erbolario. A very good, beastly, fragrance for the price. My only compliment was at work, from across the room—the performance is amazing. If Sai, Steven, or Jeremy did a positive review on this (to get the name out) it would be selling in bulk. As for occasions to wear, I would not wear this in weather above 40-50 degrees F— It really "sings" in the frigid cold. For age range, I would say 25 and up and for semi formal, formal, and romantic occasions.

Warning! This is not for everyone, DO NOT BLIND BUY THIS ONE IF YOU JUST STARTED INTO FRAGRANCE fragcomm, It contains civet note, and strong musk with vanilla, The opening civet kicks in, piss like, It reminds me of KOUROS. Amouage Gold. Ted lapidus, and perry Ellis oud. This is not an oud fragrance, has nothing to do with it. It's vintage vibe, barbershop, old gangsta vibe, kouros.

Initially a bit off-putting but boy does this grow on you. I have had Musc Ravageur in the past and get the reason why people are giving a nod to that fragrance as a comparison. I am enjoying this and hopefully will get some good use out of it. I figure for the price, a few wears alone will cover the cost of admission.

Bottle from a handful of years ago. Heavy (like, alot) sprays under the shirt (put on before it dried, so count it as on clothes I guess). As SunsetSheen says below, it seems to settle after a few years on the shelf, but is still a bit of a mess of alcohol and screeching at first. It settles quickly in to something that evokes my earliest reactions to A*men. That slightly awkward rubber feeling stuck around through some ebbs and flows of a smoky dryish vanilla-ish aspect. By 10hrs in the dominant character has shifted towards Jovan Musk though there is still enough else that when my nose goes blind to the musk I can still find the rubber hanging on. I've but this one beside La Rive Scotish on my shelf as it does for the other big 90s men's gourmand (JPG Le Male) what Cigar Black Oud does for A*men. The thing is that I'm not sure anyone reading this should buy either of them. There is nothing particularly wrong with them as a cheap pickup to fill up an order for free shipping or as components of a gift basket for your teenage nephew who is developing an interest in retro fragrances (one never knows!), but having satisfied my own curiosity I've found myself unlikely to reach for this type of budget riff on a classic. I'm not sure if it's just a psychological trick of the "low-price" or if the strength of the formulation really requires it, but I tend to spray more when it's cheap juice to the point that I suspect it ends up not being much less expensive. TLDR: problematic sprayer, unhelpful name, smokey vanilla-ish on a sea of musk. Actually quite well engineered for the price but don't over pay.

overall, Bottle: 10/10 Packaging: 10/10 Smell: 9/10 Longevity: 8/10 Sillage: 4/10 I just wish it contained more amber, i don’t really detect any woody notes as it says here. The tobacco is prominent throughout the perfume. Lasted for around 7-8 hours but can’t smell it unless you really get close. Not complaining for Its price!

I am getting a strange scent after dry down that reminds me of a woman's makeup bag if I smell closely. Or maybe doll/toy plastic. If I don't smell up close it's vanilla but a weird vanilla. Strange to me. I'm not too fond of that makeup/plastic smell and this alternates between that and a rather bizarre vanilla so I'm on the fence with this one. So buyer beware, or at least buyer be notified, this does not smell so much of vanilla, tonka, or benzoin as it does vanilla plastic or a woman's makeup kit. Update: Unfortunately, this has moved to a dislike for me now that I've worn it a couple of times. I finally figured out exactly this smells like after cleaning out my parent's attic. I picked up my sister's old Cabbage Patch Kids dolls and it smelled exactly like this. I'm an 80's child and I must admit to having a certain feeling of nostalgia when I smelled that Cabbage Patch Kid. It took me back to when I was young and used to play "tea party" with my sister. Makes me smile and makes me sad at the same time. That sad feeling I get (my sister is gone now) may be affecting my perception of this as well. Anyways, i don't hate the smell in general but in fragrance form it is just kinda weird to me. It's a shame as I really like the notes in this and wanted to like it but that plastic vanilla type scent really isn't what I was expecting or anything I'd like in a fragrance, personally. However, if that toy vanilla/Cabbage Patch Kids scent is your thing (no judgement here, it's not bad per say just unexpected and not to my personal tastes) then that's what you'll get and it'll be right up your alley!

I really don't understand what everyone is getting out of this fragrance. Thankfully I sold it and won't be buying another bottle. I bought it thinking it would be similar to Tobacco Vanille, but it is not to my nose. This plasticy tar/burning rubber/campfire stove type of smell dominates the whole fragrance. It's almost like a camphor type smell or like the plastic note from Carmex lip balm. I can get hints of the tobacco and vanilla but they've just smothered by this one overbearing note. I'm guessing it's a combination of oud, benzoin, and peru balsam that's just not meshing well with my nose. You can give it a try, it isn't that much money right now online. I should've bought Black Wood, that's probably safer with it's only risk being either generic or too similar to other fragrances. A safer blind buy and a much better fragrance, in my opinion, is the original Cigar by Remy Latour. Like a less harsh Havana by Aramis but with sweet aspects of Burberry London. It's one of my favorite fragrances to wear in fall/winter.

Yup, sweet vanilla, baby powder and...piss. Sorry to be uncouth, but I can't un-smell it! Thankfully the ammonia fades after initial blast into a kind of sweet musk but yeah..hard pass. But thank you.

Blind bought and extremely disappointed, just it repels me and everyone around, a big thumb down from my perspective.

Ok, I was very excited about this one and I waited for it to arrive like a kid on Christmas eve. When it arrived I unwrapped it from the packaging and looked in awe at the artistic designed tin it was in. The tin was reminiscent of the old 1930s cigar packaging. It made me have nostalgia for a time when I didn't even exist. I took out the bottle and it looked like 5 or 6 black cigars wrapped together in a gold seal. My heart was beating fast. I took off the sticker that held the button and then I closed my eyes and sprayed. Euphoria in a bottle... is what I'd like to say. No sir, no this smells like tar, sugar, and pee. In anger I tried to make myself believe it smelled fantastic, willingly spraying the rest on my arm and neck. It didn't work. Nothing could change it. It is the most linear smell of tar, sugar, and pee that I've ever smelled. Had the nerve to add a hint of vanilla almost as if to say, "thanks for the money, sorry you had to find out the hard way." Take my word for it, this isn't it. This is not the cheapy oud crusher we hoped for. This is tar, sugar, and pee. This was horrible garbage though and will be given away.

Those who hate sweet fragrances, this one is the nightmare for them. The tangerine is the last thing you want in your perfume. It is nauseatingly sweet, followed by loud sweet cheap quality incense notes which make this more intolerable. Those who say that this is a strong fragrance, yes it is strongly loud! And not dark. Oud has nothing to do with this at all, till the dry down you will never detect any oud, only loudness of sweet tangerine, with sub standard vanilla chemical and little negligible woodiness. The color of the bottle is not according to it's fragrance, i would say that it should've been Gradient bright pink for loud sweetness with brown color of cheap incense. I don't just hate it, i disgust buying it. It is an instant regret with instant rub off. Out of 20$ they have spent 19 dollars on the bottle and packaging and 1 dollar on making the juice, probably less.

Not a bad “tobacco is your friend” themed cheapo, decently blended! Longevity..check, Sillage..check. What am I smelling here though? This honestly rubbed me the wrong way when first trying, and thought it kinda stunk with its slight urinous nature. But as a frag collector, one must be open minded until giving or throwing away, if the situation allows. In this case, it’s not That bad. So on a deeper and curious sniff, mid to drydown; this reminded me of what a “black” or “elixir” version of Caron PH might smell like, sans a slight lipstick note I get from Caron. Of my semi vast collection that is the only one similar to this. Also has a classic feel, not at all feminine but I can see a brave gal pulling this off. Along with the classic feel comes a couple of classic images.. Sorta brings to mind what a hooker or “flapper” from the thirties might smell like..the smell permeating off of her and just saturated in the (most likely-)tobacco and opium laden room that she is working out of, in big brothels of those days. Another image is just simply an expensive hand rolled havana cigar leaf, not so much a cheap philly or swisher (for reference). Smoked in that same era, where everyone smoked. But in this case the image of high end “act” of smoking, wearing white gloves and tuxedo, and using one of those cigarette holders. Possibly smoking then going to “see” that flapper LOL. Btw it’s very loud 2 spritz max!! Maybe even 1 only. When I wear this especially, I don’t want others to notice this scent before me..it’s That damn loud. But i gotta say 8/10 for my rating, and that’s a bit of a stretch. I prefer black wood to this one.

Yesterday received black oud .Today applied at 8.30 and presently 3.30. still going very strong with excellent projection.this gem is true clone and copy of Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. The difference in dry down between both is almost none at least to my nose.I feel strongly once again that this fragrance smells just like Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, yet costs very little.Though it is strong but not repulsive at all. A great winter night fragrance and a must buy for all perfume lovers.after wearing this all day i realised the real craftmanship involved to produce this diamond .Suitable for daring and brave hearts as for initial 30 minutes it is very rough.my ratings are-- Projection: 9/10 Longevity: 9/10 Sillage: 9/10 Smell/ 8/10 it smells weird but smells good value for money-10/10

This fragrance is unusual. I'm not big on Oud fragrances, but this one is nice. It starts out strong, I mean really strong with a civet almost cat urine smell which is noticed in the initial blast. But, right after that, it turns into a wonderful, honeyed, vanilla-powder, cinimmon bomb. It does taper off into an almost baby doll scent that you find on plastic dolls. After this, it shines into a wonderful, tropical smell of different fruits. Definitely worth the price. It becomes a skin scent after about two hours, but sits on your skin about 10+ hrs. Definitely for colder weather which is where I personally feel that this scent truly shines! So, do I recommend it? Yes. Would I buy again? Probably not. But, it's worth checking into.

Got to say it was a bit weird when I first got this. No argar wood in this thank god.. precious woods could meen quite a lot. Sweet ISH and bitter perfume which my wife liked from the start and I was in Bulgaria in the summer . Yeh I don't get it either because it's autumn winter frag . That was the last time I wore it about five years ago. U upntil today. Cooler here right now as autumn starting so thought I'd have another go . Well I liked it a lot! Still sweat ISH and bitter but I can smell fresh burnt wood ash . Incense and fruit. Very linear to me from start to finish . Not like anything in my collection, a quirky perfume that I find myself wanting more of. Only for mature men I think

I joined fragrantica just to write this review. I know this has been compared to Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, but I really don't get that. The reason I don't is because as soon as I smelled this I knew it smelled very familiar and it wasn't Tobacco Vanille. Black Oud smells just like Meharees by L'Erbolario - which many know as a clone to Musc Ravageur. I am sitting here with Black Oud on one hand and Meharees on the other and they are pretty much identical. The funny thing is Black Oud actually gets better longevity and projection than Meharees on my skin. Looking for a cheap Musc Ravageur/Meharees clone? Well look no further.

Tried today Fragrance World / Pendora scents/ FA - whatever you may call, that house's Charuto - very disappointing. Remy Latour Black Oud is potent and very well balanced juice. Please go for this juice a better TF tobacco vanille compared to Charuto, which is expensive and not worthy of whatever it's credited of. Charuto is like body splash and this is thicker comparatively. Bottomline, save your money if your thinking of buying Pendora Scents's Charuto and buy cigar Black Oud instead.

This stuff is amazing. Opens with a strong vanilla essence oil smell. It's synthetic and strong. Has a very similar vibe to the A*Men opening. The dry down is where this really shines. 1 hour in, and this smells almost identical to Tobacco Vanille. I've smelled both, and they're very similar, this has less tobacco and more wood. Longevity is excellent. Projection is excellent. Buy this, and get the others in the range too. They won't disappoint.

I am a BIG fan of tradition masculine scents, such as tobacco, so I recently blind bought Black Wood and Black Oud from this house. Black Oud is not what I was expecting. There is no Tobacco in this fragrance. I do get the references to Musc Ravaguer and Meharees though. This scent is Musk, with a side of musk. a little bit of wood and sweetness with just a touch of citrus. Bottom line: This is a great value and well Worth the money!

I made a user just to review this. This cologne was a total blind buy for me. Let me be frank, I smell no oud in this and definitely no tobacco. It is very powdery and strong. Imagine smelling vanilla and a burnt lemon together. Also, do not apply and go. The opening smell is too strong and synthetic but the dry down is fantastic. I received many compliments. The scent also lasts a while. More of a mature smell to me.

I like this sooo much more than I thought I would. I put off buying this for a long time because I was worried there would be too much vanilla, but it's perfect! Everything blends together so nicely and makes a strong balsamic amber. Or at least that's what I would call it, there might be a better terminology to describe it. Performance is really good too, and I got this for $12! Ahahaahha!!

Sweet, animalic, resinous, vanillic monster scent. Note that it is rather harsh at first but then it comes together nicely. So, for the price, it's one of the best scents for the budget-conscious. However, I can imagine that the first several minutes will lead some to decide it is not for them - you might want to spray in the air and then wave your arm in the mist the first time you try it.

This smells more expensive than it is. I don't think this is like Frederic Malle's Musc Ravageur; I think this is the even more grown up version of Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, which I love. I think those who complain that Tobacco Vanille is too sweet for them, they should try Black Oud. I really like this one.

Not your typical oud. Think smoky incense melting into dark honeyed vanilla, like Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille, that rich, comforting sweetness but rougher, dirtier, and way cheaper. Smells like pure vanilla extract left to smolder in a gentleman’s club. Lasts forever. 4/5

I tried layering this with Yacht Man Chocolate and they were both improved (IMO, of course) by doing so. One spray of RLBO is equal to 7 or 8 of YMC, in terms of my layering preference.

This reminds me so much of A*Men by Mugler. It has the same over-sweet, vanilla-caramel-tonka accord. It even has a similar harsh opening as A*Men.

Buy this instead of Tobacco Vanille or even its clone like Paris Corner's Pendora scents Charuto, this has more depth and character.

I'd be damned if this wasn't Meharees, with a stronger musk scent (which isn't bad, but doesn't make it better than meharees).

This smells like Musc Ravagour. I just did a side by side comparison.
