Identite for Men

I was curious what kind of scent is “Identite” for Men by Rene Lezard , so I bought it on-line and here is my little review. The bottle is very interesting – somehow it breaks the rules with the strange geometry – the pictures can’t describe it. Indeed, very stylish design. “Identite” has very nice start – little bit sweet, elegant and fresh – the middle notes are strong – the lime, cedar and grapefruit are there. After an hour or two, the base notes are getting stronger and the scent is becoming sweeter, warmer with very deep and dark notes. The drydown is my favorite part of Identite – it is delicious, so deep and warm – I can sense some dark sweetness mixed some woody notes/just see the pyramid/ and that makes the perfume perfect to me. The mix of the base and middle notes is very well balanced – the sweetness is seductive, the dark and deep woody notes turns Identite into a complex scent, suitable for 25/30+ men scent... Definitely that Rene Lezard men scent is a class one, which can be describe as clean/at first hour/, sweet, dark, elegant and truly sexy. Not for boys ;) I can compare it to Roccobarocco Extraordinary – at that moment, Roccobarocco Extraordinary is not listed here in fragrantica.com, but it is very, very close to Identite...so if you don’t have a chance to test Identite in a shop, you can use Roccobarocco Extraordinary for men as a reference point. So, if you like sweet and dark perfumes that has some seductive and classy, woody and deep notes, “Identite” for Men by Rene Lezard is calling for you ! ;) About the longevity – on my skin is remarkable-more then 9-10 hours! I sprayed once on my wrist at 10.00 AM, now is 21.05 PM and I can sense some sweet-dark notes...so the base notes are here! That’s more then 10 hours on my skin. It is a perfect choice for anthem/winter. About the silage – between “good –very good”. It’s not a monster like Thierry Mugler A Men “A*Men”, or Joop! “Homme”, Jean Paul Gaultier “Le Male”, but “Identite” has a enough power. I agree with afraafra/below/ that Identite is a gourmand scent... It is worth a try!

Really interesting - the only male perfume I've seen from the Lezard line, which seems to be out of production by now. This is a sweet oriental, not unlike the kinds of YSL La Nuit de l'Homme and CH Men. What surprises me, is that there is no mention of neither coffee nor cardamom in the notes listed. I get no licorice or mint, but a nice mixture of tonka, vanilla, coffee and cardamom with hints of cognac and woody basenotes of cedar and sandalwood. The coffee association may of course be due to the tonka mixing with vanilla and giving off a caramel like resemblance of the sweetened bitterness of a mocha latte. Where I find the projection to be rather average and drydown to a skinscent within a couple of hours, I must give due credit to an incredible longevity - after 8 and 12 hours it is still clearly detectable. As Deetron mentioned, the bottle is also really curious and actually widening towards the top unlike most other bottles. Overall, a sweet, dark and woody oriental that is definitely worth trying if you should come across it somewhere.

Very gourmand reminds me of A*men and specially Black Marlin Nautilus, addictive and good longevity.
