Cacique

Cacique is a bomb. I'm not sure if I just liked it or if I could ever use it, but the quality of the perfume is undeniable. Apart from the fact that it lasted more than 24 hours on my skin, which is not normal for me, it kept projecting during its good handful of hours, getting to receive a "what do you smell like?" Several hours after I put it on. This is the aroma that the head of the pack would carry, it smells like a warrior with spear and torch in hand. Above all, it is a woody perfume centered on the oud and with a very prominent Smoky part. In fact, outside of that part of wood, the note i detect the most is incense, but a burning and scorched incense, with a certain rubbery character. Deep down, it has a sweet aftertaste that mixes with balsamic notes, giving it a very medicinal character. I see it unisex although pulling a little more to the masculine side and to use on special occasions. Only for the brave. Scent: 8 Longevity: 10 Sillage: 8 Originality: 10 Versatility: 5 Overall: 9

I knew I would like Cacique when I was introduced to its perfume pyramid via a post on Instagram a few weeks back. It certainly hasn't disappointed. I find this extrait de parfum to be quite a complex blend of quality components, with lasting and alternating oud and musk aromas that hang around for an absolute age. At initial application I get hits of juniper and patchouli and, although it is listed as a base note, I get transient whiffs of the burnt caramel quite early on but find they soon shy away as the oud notes expand and become more prominent. Longevity for this on my skin is absolutely immense. I went to bed on the first day I wore Cacique and woke up the next day still able to smell it clearly on my person. Sillage appears to be moderate. I can smell its presence lingering around me almost continually, yet when I asked a socially distanced colleague today if they could catch a waft they said they couldn't.

Good blend with good quality of real oud. I compared this perfume with others that are much more expensive based on real oud and I must say that Cacique by Renier made the comparison very well, and even in the dry down the perfume evolves pleasantly always supported by a good dose of Cambodian oud and patchouli. Great work Renier. 9/10

Bold woody scent that also comes across boozy as well. There’s a slight sourness to the wood from the juniper/pine needle combination that might make this less appealing to some noses; wouldn’t recommend a blind buy. It’s all blended fairly well so all the listed notes aren’t necessarily distinguishable to me. It’s unique and doesn’t remind me of anything else, which I always appreciate, but I can tell this isn’t something I would reach for regularly.

That's a potent fragrance! Very smoky, burnt woody. Don't expect a mellow characteristic due to the caramel and raspberry in it. Pine and patchouli notes are overpowering for me, besides the burning woody elements. It's also quite herbal. Successful? I think it's very successful, but not something I would dare to wear every day. Even one puff filled the whole room.

Cacique gives me all the time a fruity, woody, incense, spicy, alcoholic, fermented vibe, reminding me of something like a sweet liqueur red wine. It is permeated by a juicy raspberry with caramel and jasmine smoked by incense and by the 'Indian animalic and Cambodian oud smoked sweet, both of very high quality and with a musky touch, the brand's DNA. Like other perfumes of the House, it alternates like waves these nuances in a spectacular frenzy; Cacique has spectacular sensory evolutions. It is a powerful Extrait De Parfum with sensational performance. It is a woody, resinous, smoky, spicy, balsamic, lightly musky, animalic fragrance. My favorite of the brand.

strong Cambodian oud (smokey and skanky) & warm patchouli. it has a minty tiger balm quality and a lot of pine, too. there's also a subtle sweet kick from caramel and vanilla, a very light one. it does have a resemblance with the drydown of laudano nero, but cacique is smoother and also not as sweet. its very smokey and resinous just like laudano but on a woody side. laudano feels messy and "undone" when compared to this one. slightly let down by the staying power. around 3 hrs on skin than disappearing with no trace

A perfume that combines Indian and Cambodian oud, incense and musk. A very beautiful formal perfume.

All I have to say is that today I bought a backup bottle.
