Crystal Rain

The Aventus vibe is there. Especially similar to the darker smoky batches. However, it is the green apple which are in focus and not pineapple. When drying down Crystal Rain takes another direction than Aventus. A very nice smooth cedar comes more and more through amongst other notes in the composition. I get some herbals together with bergamot and cedar. Very alluring stuff! Crystal Rain (maybe the most beautyful name in the history of perfumery) is fresh, crowd pleasing and versatile. I love fragrances that has niche quality, but at the same time are easy to wear. A problem with Aventus wearing it to work is that its very loud, and I had negative comments because of that. Crystal Rain are perfect as a work fragrance. Its more subtle, but still project in a way that will get you noticed. It will give people around you gentle wifts, and thats what you want from a fragrance. Its both professional, sexy and playful. My gf do not like most of my fragrances, but she actually complimented me on Crystal Rain which is a very good sign :) Does it smell like Crystal Rain? Imagine that you are in the forest and a crystal raindrop is hanging from a fresh green leaf. You can smell the floor of the forest and the woods. An array from the sun penetrates the tree tops and hits the crystal rain drop on the leaf. You watch the beautyful white light while enjoying a green apple. Thats how Crystal Rain smells like. It has this earthy darker aspects, but at the same time it is fresh, bright and vibrant. It is located where heaven and earth meet. 9/10

fresh and very original crystal that fits perfectly with the name out. Bergamot, apple, orange blossom, with a soft touch aromatic thyme, all with a perfect balance and a lovely resulting aroma, a note of cypress that transmits peace and highlights the floral soon appear, here and you feel the jasmine brings a soft Animal hue and cedar begins to be felt with a soft leather which gives some character to drying and makes highlight ambered base notes, ambergris and amber in perfect harmony. A slightly sweet dried transmitting not only peace but who carries sensuality. At times, I was transported to the future, it is as if Ellena had made the futuristic glass and transparent version version of Terre mixed with Figaro. Duration and moderate trail with qualities and very good composition. I love that Josier work in line Ellena. Rating: 8

Opens clean and fresh. Where bergamot and green apple are the stars, followed by a discrete orange blossom note. The kind like you have a bunch of flowers freshly taken from the orange tree and stays with you all day long. After a while the jasmine make his entrance with cedar and leather notes by his side. Pass few hours the ambergris is the protagonist, leaving in second place the floral and woodsy notes. It is a very pleasant fragrance. Ideal for all kind of days and seasons. For me represents freshness, peace and I'm enjoying it a lot.

Very evocative and emotional to my mind/associations fragrance. Cypresses, ambergris and cedar are notes that my skin projects till the Moon and back here, hence it is a forest in a strong wind. When the tops of the trees are going back and forward, smell of wild thyme, that grows under your feet. I also agree with some reviewers - cobblestones after the rain been mentioned by blake.lee - indeed, I get it. It has ancient and at the same time futuristic quality, somewhat clean and self-absorbing. Loving it.

Okay, listen...Ill be the first to tell you when a fragrance does or does not smell like Aventus, since Aventus is my favorite frag of all time.... This DOES remind me of it... NO it is not a clone. NO it is not the same. Yes, it has similarities and, yes, it has *some* of the same components, but not all. At first spray I was very surprised of the quality. It doesn't have the same chemical affect as L'aventure or CDNIM. It smells fairly natural. The opening is realistically close to the modern, more fruity batches of Aventus. The biggest thing this one lacks when being compared to Aventus is the woody nature/woody depth. This one contains more of a spicy-herbaceous backbone whereas Aventus relies on the woodiness for a backbone. Now, don't get me wrong, this is similar, however Aventus still has another dimension. This stuff is good, quality, and very pleasing! I would say (for anyone that cares), this is 85% Aventus....It's solid.

There's no vetiver in this?!! I can't believe it! I got the distinct impression of a very fresh bergamot and vetiver in the opening. It's a fresh and very herbal beginning. Also a little bitter. Now, it has the distinct smell of wet stones and the thyme isn't playing around, it's very serious about making itself known. To me this smells like wet cobblestones after the rain and herbs and flowers that have been trampled as people ran through gardens to escape being drenched in the downpour. It does have a similar feel to Aventus I suppose but it's not as fruity and it's not smoky at all. It has a more herbal petrichor thing going on than Aventus does. It's well done and, like Black Rain, it is also androgynous.

Bake Lee hit it! I could have sworn it was minty lavender but it's that mixture of the leather... real leather like a jacket.. jasmine Cyprus and ambigris. This is like Aventus but real solid leather.. bitter yet still wet. Like other mentioned dry cobblestone with rain on top. It's also got this clean fresh put of the spa effect. I'm really digging this! Owner is great and on point. Nikhill you need to spend more time with this it's not just some b.s. clone. This unique obscure and likeable. .. intriguing.

Crystal Rain is an easy fragrance to appreciate without loosing the niche quality, perfect for daily wear! Like other mentioned dry cobblestone with rain on top. perfectly for hot days and its unisex!. Opens clean and fresh. The lavender and the apple are the stars, followed by a mix of Jasmine and orange blossom with a soft touch of aromatic thyme. After a while the amber, leather, cedar and ambergris make its entrance. Sillage and longevity is moderate on my skin!

First time I smelled this at The Perfumery in barcelona I immediately thought of Aventus, with a bit more Apple than pineapple in the opening. Very pleasant, better drydown compared to Hacivat for sure.. I finally got this a week ago, and thought it was a bit weak, longevity is okay(5-6 hours). Projection is pretty bad tbh.. For the price I'd have definitely gone with kisses rain instead.

Predictable. If you have smelled Behique, you’ll realise there was no need for Crystal Rain, as it feels like the product of Behique going for a night out at the drug store and hooking up with the first bottle of cleaning stuff it found. A citrusy, fruity, fresh, chemical, sugary, woody soup that seems mostly made by a robot before a human added a slight leafiness, hoping it would turn into something interesting. It would be OK as an aftershave or daily fragrance for a teen or young guy, and I would probably like it on a young woman on a sunny day. Still, this fragrance smells more like something I’d use as toilet cleaner rather than perfume.

Another Aventus clone that runs more expensive than Aventus when you look at price per ml. Sorry that's a joke. Smells okay but you get same from any Alexandria and DUA for fraction of the price

Another crowdpleasing fruity woody leathery trendy thing: booooooring. And poor performance. $155 for 50ml? Hahahahaha is it April 1st already?

This is far and away my least favorite not only of the Rain series, but of the entire house of Renier Perfumes. It's certainly not a bad fragrance - none of the house's are. But this of all of them strikes me as bland and uninspired, not just Aventus inflected, but also "cologney". Not 4711 or Neroli Portofino "cologney", but cologne guy at work "calogney". To my nose it smells manly, sporty, almost jock-like. It's woodsy, it's fresh, it's clean, ostensibly mass appealing. But there is something about this blend that is off-putting to me. The combination of the tart apple with the palpable, rough-cut cedar/cypress/thyme smells almost savory to me, somewhat culinary even, like making some kind of artisinal apple hand pie with herbs and goat cheese. That would be a delicious accompaniment to a craft IPA with comic book art on the label, but it just doesn't smell good on my skin at all. And it's not as if I don't enjoy the smoky/herbal riff on Aventus - after all, I own and love Tiziana Terenzi's Orion, which includes not only thyme, but oregano as well (Paolo is Italian after all; I suppose he couldn't resist the temptation). But the blend in Orion is far superior in my opinion. It's smoother, less abrasive, a smidge sweeter, and a bit more complex than Crystal Rain. The elements are all there, but it smells like the proportions are wrong - almost like a piquant lemonade that could stand a dash of sugar. Overall, I'm not a fan of Crystal Rain. The quality is fine, the performance is fine, but the scent is not to my taste. I think this particular niche is well filled by Orion. Orion is also an extrait, and available in a sumptuous 100ml bottle with a heavy golden cap for around $135 on the discounters, while Crystal Rain is a 50ml EDP priced at $155. I think I'm more than happy with the former, rather than the latter, thank you very much. 5/10 P.S.: I will echo a previous reviewer's comments about the caliber of Renier's customer service. I reached out to them about a minor shipping issue and they responded quickly and succinctly. What's more, even though I only ordered samples of the Rain line and De Lirius, I was lucky enough to receive samples of Behique and Habana 500 as well, allowing me to sample the entire house. Even if I'm not in love with all of the fragrances from Renier Perfumes, it's this kind of quality service, and quality artistry, that makes supporting small niche and indie brands like this worth it.

J.Sagona (2016) I get a sugary, sandy, with a touch of green apple, that was just picked from the tree, that muffles a soured, aromatic, orange tinged bergamot, and a slightly sweet, subtle, delicate orange blossom. Then a narcotic, blooming in the summer heat, a touch animalic, jasmine, burrows beneath a darkened, fresh, barely worn leather, and a dusty, bleak, tired cedar wood. I get the Apple, Jasmine, Bergamot, Cedar Wood, Leather and Orange Blossom, it opens up with a juicy, tart bergamot, and a crisp, sweet apple, the apple is strong, the bergamot is mild. After twenty minutes the bergamot dissipates, the apple softens, in comes a fresh, clean orange blossom, and a bright, fleshy jasmine, the orange blossom is soft, the jasmine is mild. After four hours the apple and orange blossom dissipate, the jasmine softens, in comes a black, smooth leather, and a mossy, wilted cypress, the leather is mild, the cedar wood is soft. Crystal Rain Is a very soft, airy, fruity, citric, a touch herbal and spicy, white florals, woody, amber and musky nuances, unisex, it leans more feminine, Floral fragrance. Tangy, fresh, maybe inspired by Aventus, but IMO not better or worse than Aventus. I would say along the same lines as Aventus, and possibly easier to wear. I'd purchase this over Aventus just to support the small guy. I'd say the sillage is similar to the newer batches of Aventus. I like the name of Crystal Rain because it gives off a vibe of misting a magical crystal on your skin. Light, enjoyable, and a slightly tangy version of Aventus.

It smells like rain hitting the pavement, clean. Wet earthy vegetation. Then it smells old-fashioned, then it smells modern. It has a flip flop quality. I felt like I was in church, incensey. Then a library. Then back out side in the clean, soapy rain. I came, got clean, and then got on with my day. Every now and then getting a whiff of super clean skin.

Yes i'ts similar to aventus but it's not clone .i'm huuuuuuge fan of aventus. But YOU KNOw WHAT!!!!!! I prefer this guy.. by far. And " cerise sur le gâteau" in France i bought it for 85€ 50ml... Daniel Josier IS un the shadow of this frag and it IS an Amazing perfumer... 4,5/5

SOTD- Very nice and mass appealing! nobody can say this doesn't smell like aventus because it DOES!!! its about 95% close! EASY! and so much cheaper!! like aventus though, it doesn't last long but worth the money! 8/10

Tested this today at the Perfumery store in Barcelona. Smells too similar to Aventus. I could literally pick up Aventus from the word gO. So no blind buys please. The Black rain is darker and more significant.
