Ris Tanama

Fragrance that at first I did not like because of its vintage air given by the animal notes of castoreo, and although I really enjoyed the oud, the Cambodian is not exactly the one I like the most, I like the fragrances of the brand and the cherry is my favorite note of red fruits, but here my inexperienced nose non detects how they are currently worked in most compositions, it moves away from everything gourmand and sweetness and is shown more as a ninety note that accentuates the whole set. Recently I got a discovery set and I decided to claim it with her, to understand Renier's look , his passion for animal notes and oud is seen in this fragrance, at the opening there was something that brought to my mind the most animalistic Ylang-Ylang that accompanied by the sandalwood create that magnificent chord already known by the classic of Guerlain Samsara, but this Ris Tanama does not look like it, the cherry next to the catoreum and the oud take it by a more free and artistic path, the lemon adds light to a Robust composition that completes with a delicious rosewood note that brings more woody to the whole aroma and a dry and powdery rose. Although I still do not see it in much of my profile especially by its opening, its drydown has made me fall in love because the rosewood note is shown much more and the most animalic notes go down, it is a round and high-flying composition of those that are missed in the current perfumery, I think that over time it grows much more in me this "red butterfly."

Cambodian oud on its own smells rather blunt and sort of bitter-dry compared to other oud varieties, but I learned to enjoy its "hushed" beauty. glad Renier chose exactly this one however, the opening of RT is surprisingly disappointing. a plastic fruity bubblegum on a prominent samsara base. you also get punished with a strong palisander punch right in your nose. it smoothed out quickly but first impression is so so.... a real treat awaits in the base- a sweet rose jam with prominent high quality woods but the cherry adds that little something to make it truly exquisite. overall smells exactly like you would imagine something in this gorgeous pink bottle would smell. also, wearing this I can't help but think of roja's fruity sweetness (just the fruitsy aspect, not the oud itself) in his sweetie aoud and again in renier's oud rain - the same sweet musky aura, although Ris Tahama is softer and sits very close to skin. very short-lived, too.

only on a rare occasion is a fragrance created that nears the level of masterpiece. as this is still so very new, i'll avoid that classification for now. the balance between the bright and the base, between the fruit and the floral, and even that sense of space between the woods and the 'whiskers;' all seem to serve as a handsome framework for the oud - delicate yet omnipresent. in a word: exquisite.
