Dance with Repetto

The very first time I got to know it I was in France and I decided I had to have it. So warm and yummy, perfect for the cold season. At the very beginning I almost smell something like cocoa... mixed with the tonka bean and macaron notes. A delicious embrace. Then it turns into something more subtle and delicate, more on the vanilla/raspberry side.

this one opens fresh, I really like it, the pineapple shows up quickly, this is really a lovely perfume. its not over the top sweet, actually the right sweet spot. the freesia together with the sourness of the bergamot is addictive. its clean and precisely, yes this perfume is a ballerina dance.

Very girly but yummy. Perfect for holidays

It's been a while since I've spoiled myself with a blind buy (and also ages since I've written a review!), and Dance with Repetto was the chosen one based on the notes. Dance with Repetto opens up with a very "pink" aura - all things girly, sweet with a very distinguishable raspberry note that is sugary, yet fresh and juicy at the same time, which keeps it from entering headache-inducing territory. The initial blast and top notes remind me of Sugar, by Michel Germain - that one has a prominent strawberry note and loads of sugar, so while they're different, they are of the same vein in that they're fruity, sweet, girly and fun. The drydown yields a fruity, sweet vanilla skinscent that is quite pleasant, with some non-descript florals I can't quite put my finger on. I hate to be negative, but I can't help but SLIGHTLY feel that Dance smells a wee bit cheap. I will need more time with it, but the word keeps popping into my head and reminds me of the saccharine sweet frags I used to douse myself in, in my younger days. I will absolutely revisit at the end of summer, when the heat isn't so oppressive. I'd like to smell this on somebody else; it can be difficult to get a true feeling for a fragrance on oneself! Update: my husband walked in moments after writing this review, and said "sh*t you smell really good!" So I guess this perfume is awesome!? Update: rookie move, wrote my review before I got the full experience. I enjoyed it more as time went on...some patchouli, or something, deepened it and balanced out the sweetness. Raspberry note is very prominent. Very sweet. Slightly cloying in the Canadian heat. I could smell it on myself the whole time I was wearing it and my husband really loves it. I’d say projection is very good, and lasting power excellent. It’s not a love for me, and I likely won’t reach for it again until cooler weather hits, but I don’t regret my purchase and am happy to have this in my collection.

Edit 11/22/23: after two wears I did realize that unfortunately this one makes me sneeze and tickles my nose for the entirety of wearing it, so probably smart to sample before buying! That said, this is such an affordable Chanel vibe fruitchouli that it’s a great cheapie to have in your collection if it doesn’t give you a reaction! Original review: This was a blind buy, it was under $15 on fragrance net, the notes looked intriguing, and I enjoy Repetto as a brand for ballet flats and dance wear. I was expecting it to be overwhelmingly fruity and girly, maybe even childish, but I was very pleasantly surprised by its complexity. I sometimes find raspberry to be a little too sharp and prickly for my liking, but maybe the macaron aspect is what keeps it light and airy, like a lovingly crafted meringue. The coumarin/patchouli mix at the base add maturity and keep it from feeling too cotton candy sweet and juvenile. Projection is pretty intimate. I’d say this is a good choice for winter daytime wear.

Very much a daytime late fall to spring scent. It's not strong enough to stand out in the coldest weather but still wearable! I'm a fan of all things bitter almond. What bewildered me is that it REALLY DOES smell like raspberry-rose macarons without being synthetic! but not in a super sweet way. It's a scrumptious gourmand without being a sugar bomb.🍰 The floral blend comes together very nicely on the skin, with not a lot of jasmine, and the vanilla/tonka take a nice back seat & come forward as time progresses. Longevity is acceptable for eau de parfum and silage is rather low...more like a skin scent, If you want a whiff of the rose-raspberry macaron you really need to press your nose into your skin. VERDICT: An absolutely lovely perfume that reminds me of Ladurée patisseries. It's very classy and innocent without being heavy, offensive or in people's faces. I'd say this is practically safe to wear anywhere and rather unique 💕

This is a weird one... The opening is very, very harsh and boozy. Reminds me of bitter almond liquor... Them it dries down to a very soft, powdery and delicate vanilla. Super cozy and likeable. However the opening... It may turn people off. Moderate sillage and it lasts decently (around 6-7 hours?)

Ballet school inside. Talc, flowers, dreams, high hopes and hunger for sweet. :) But not for some calorie bombs, just for an airy macaron. Very charming and delightful fragrance.

I bought it just considering good reviews of others and also because I’ve been a fan of the original Repetto perfume, which had this beautiful powdery feminine finish. My expectations for this one were to smell something fruity, sweet, delicious and very feminine, as per description. I hate to say that the only thing I can, in fact, smell out of this bottle is burnt sugar, a vanilla that was stored for 25 years in a dusty bag somewhere in an attic and a strong patchouli, which I am not really fond of. The bottle is beautiful, however, and it stays 90% full on my boudoir for already a couple of months. I am not someone who throws the perfumes away; so for this one, I just use it occasionally on some chilly days where I have to go out of the house quickly and I do not smell layers of this perfume that much. Perhaps, when it mixes with the cold moist wind it helps to kill this overpouring patchouli scent.

I dance ballet and this scent does not resonate with the idea of grace, beauty, balance and artistic expression. Definitely too sweet, almost oppressive and the only distinctive notes for me are raspberry and vanilla. I had to give it away since it had been a blind buy.

I blind bought this perfume because I watched a Youtuber spoke about Repetto fragrances. She was speaking about another but I could only find this one. It came in a gift set of 50 ml with a small bottle of lotion and a nail polish for 22 Euros! So I could not let this one slip away. And oh my God... This perfume is divine! Right off the bat I could smell macaroons, raspberry and citrus while the flower notes lingering in the back. So so beautiful! Then it delivered a small piece of candied pineapple that I liked to eat as a child. I brought me back to that memory growing up in the tropics, eating sweets and popsicles. Even though it is a sweet fragrance, I can see myself wearing it warmer climate because it is not cloying at all. Why that is, because I could smell patchouli already in the heart note and somehow it makes the fragrance not only last longer but also rounder. I love love love this perfume. I am glad that I have discovered this.

I have had this perfume on my wishlist for several years, and finally got a sample vial! I had high hopes because of Nathalie Lorson's hand in its development. I have to admit I'm on the fence with this one! Its nice, it's definitely nice. But I'm not sure I LOVE it. I typically love vanilla scents, and I love several vanillas created by Nathalie Lorson. I think Dance with Repetto is very accurately described IMO by genny17 below. It has a floral heart, and it is sweet but not in a pure sugary, teenager perfume way--it is a nice, sweet, but mature perfume. Oddly enough, the closest perfume this reminds me of is Bethany Hamilton's Stoked perfume, with raspberry as the fruity note instead of Stoked's clementine & pineapple fruit notes. I will have to update my review as I wear Dance with Repetto a few more times and see if anything else comes about that I can share.

Just got a sample, I am very happy to try it !! This is a gourmand scent done with the french touch..not super sweet, delicately gourmand, subtle, and honestly, it smells delightful!! It isn't as youngish as I thought it would be.lit is like so attractive, the macaroon notes are warm and distinctive, it isn't like a thick gourmand quickly put together..the heart has that floral aura, like sweet flowers blooming on a bed of vanilla..so nice !! In the base the almond gets into play., with a hint of juicy raspberries , smelling like the real thing....nice and high quality..Now I don't know how it will develop, but my first mpressions are very good....it isn't like super projection, but it is an eveloping warm scent,,.all feminine,, I might get a 30 ml, although I was tired of sweet perfumes.l!!

Delicious!! I have been waiting for my bottle for a while since they were out of stock. It is sweet (not overly sweet), and a rather close to the skin scent. I definitely get the macaroon: delicate almond, vanilla, with some fruits. Yes, it is in the "gourmand" category. It is pretty linear, but really nice. Same vibe as "la Tentation de Nina", but softer, and a bit less sugary. I was afraid it would mostly suit young girls, but no, it is a "mature" perfume. Love it! Exactly what I was craving for :)

Du macaron ??? Moi le macaron je le mange !!! Je ne m'en parfume pas ! Pardonnez moi mais je trouve que ces parfums gourmands sont de plus en plus difficiles à comprendre pour moi (bien sûr). Mais pourquoi pas ! Dés lors qu'on parfum nous fait voyager, rêver ... Moi j'aime mais les parfums gourmands c'est oui mais.... A priori ce n'est pas pour les femmes matures dont je suis mais je classerais cela pour jeune femme. Et les parfums poudrés me font craquer et fondre.... comme du chocolat ;o)

I bought this perfume blind but I’m actually very happy with the scent! When first spritzed the scent is fruity and sweet; the raspberry and Heliotrope seems apparent and it reminded me of cherry Carmex a little. However when given some time the vanilla and Tonka bean becomes much more apparent, it’s very unique

Just received a sample of this with some shoes I bought: it lists the notes as raspberry macaroon (i.e. a raspberry flavored macaroon, not raspberry and macaroon), peony, and vanilla. I get mainly tonka, vanilla, and raspberry upon application. Not bad but I prefer the other repetto scents.

I just blind bought this and upon spraying my reaction was that the top notes had spoiled. After reading more reviews the words of burnt sugar and Vicks vapour rub have come to light and now I’m confused. Is this really the way it’s supposed to smell? I don’t get any sweetness or pretty.

Can't wait to try this. With notes like macarons, raspberry and vanilla it definitely sounds like a scent I would like.

I'm really interested about the macaron note. I love gourmands. Can't wait to test this!
