Repetto

I smelled this today while shopping for leotards at Repetto. I walked out with a bottle of this instead of new leotards. Hahha! Truly the most unique and evocative fragrance I have ever encountered, thus far. For some strange reason, it has the power to enhance and intensify any emotion I am momentarily feeling. And that's dangerous. When I smell this and I look out the window into the night; the night feels darker than usual! When I smell this and I laugh; my laugh feels happier than usual! It's like a talisman fragrance that possesses the power to intensify any emotion or vision currently felt or seen. And that scares me! I have never experienced anything like that, before. My friend was shopping with me and she pulled me to her nose to smell this fragrance at least 15 times after I sprayed it on! She said that every time she smells it, she thinks of some new memory or daydream or feeling. She said that the fragrance pulls her in, further and further, the more she smells it! It's sweet but not cheap. It's sweet like the black licorice candies that were so mysterious to my eyes when I was a child; when I would stand there and stare up at them on the shelves of the grocery store, wondering why in the world they were black!! And yet they tasted sweet in a way that still tasted "black"! It's a full, whole scent that's blackly sweet. To me, it smells nothing like its bottle. It's mysteriously poisonous and intoxicating. Very deceiving little scent. Incredible! UPDATE: A few days later and I am STILL falling for this perfume! Just like back when I was a little girl and I would keep a bottle of perfune hidden away from everyone and would go to put it on in secret and sniff it in secret to let it carry me away to other places... I thought I might never find a perfume that could do that again for me again, as an adult. This is the ONLY one that has done this for me again, since childhood! I sniff it from the bottle several times a day, I guess how an addict would sniff cocaine! Never expected to find this in such a humble, underrated perfume! I will have to buy 10 000 bottles of this stuff, lest they ever discontinue it! It's so warm and woody and blackly sweet... all at the same time!!

Huh! Don't understand the amount of dislike votes. Truly nothing to hate about this lil beauty. It's delicate, pretty, classy, innocent-feminine...Succulent pear with gentle rose/orange blossom and woody ambery-vanilla. I can imagine blush-pink tutus and ballet slippers... This develops pleasantly on my skin: The pear is juicy and compliments the dominant cherry blossom. Cherry blossom note can get real synthetic and overbearing, however not in Repetto EDT. It might be just MY skin but I started noticing the rose after 1.5-2 hours, it doesn't emerge fast. Orange blossom is there but faint/overshadowed by the opening notes. The pear/cherry blossom don't completely disappear by then either. It's not a loud or powdery rose, which I enjoy. The vanilla dry-down is actually less-sweet than the opening, and the amber isn't heavy. Performance for this EDT is surprising. When I walk into a room people notice it even an hour after spraying, and there are still traces of it on my skin when I wake up in the morning. Performs better than most EDPs I tried. This is reminiscent of 'Coco Mademoiselle': Imagine that fragrance without the mimosa, balsam and signature patchouli, fresher and more fruity-sweet (instead of citrus). The Repetto EDP is the one actually similar to Coco Mademoiselle (not a 1:1 dupe though) since its got a well-done patchouli. This is really lovely in the spring daytime! The EDP is definitely a fall/winter fragrance, while this one is fresher for warm weather. Perfectly balanced, gentle, inoffensive yet still catches peoples' attention. Men seem to like it too! I do enjoy this one in my collection, as I love the Repetto DNA all seasons. Beautiful and a bit alluring. Can easily be worn in a work environment I'd say.

I bought it initially because this scent comes with an impressive story about the inspiration, the passion for the classic dance and it's created to reflect all that magic. And it really shows - the box with a thin satin ribbon, the bottle with the same decoration and an exquisite little charm. I like the sound it makes when it lightly touches the glass. Simple and sophisticated. And the scent... On me the opening is a fresh, realistic, bittersweet cherry blossom bouquet which makes me think about what comes next - a juicy, ripe, sweet cherries. The sweetness isn't annoying, cheap or too much, it's just there to add some elegance. Then I get a beautiful rose -rather fresh and soft. The base on me is a nice, rosy sandalwood with a hint of vanilla ( but again - very soft, almost not there). I don't smell here "La vie est belle" by Lancome. This scent is sparkling, transparent, juicier, but not just plain girly ( I sometimes even get some citrus (not listed) at the beginning). That's why I understand the comparision with the Chanel perfumes. Indeed, there's that sparkling, expensive vibe in a soft way, just to give an idea about that, so it's not a clone of Chanel, it's closer to Zen by Shiseido. And one more suprise -it's an EdT, but it really lasts on me. A beautiful spring/ summer perfume which makes me dream about the sunrise and dance in the sunset.

Sadly, 3 out of 3 friends that smelled this on me only had one word to say about this: "sweet." They all independently gave that as their ONLY opinion of this scent. I say sadly, because I fell in love with this fragrance because I find it far more complex than just "sweet." The initial spray is sweet and spicy to me, and I can also smell something warm and milky, I'm guessing the amber and the woody notes. For me, it's the perfect fall fragrance. As the weather cools, the longevity on this extends to 7-8 hours on me, pretty impressive for an EDT this light.

I purchased the small vial of sample to try, the first time i sprayed i thought that this is the kind of smell which suits very young women like 18-23. But the more i used the more i got hooked on to it. I cannot get away from sweet stuffs, this kind of sweet is really what i call a perfume with character, not the kind that lacks imagination like VS's range. However never go more than 3 sprays, it may just intoxicate you if you got it on your neck or hair. Haha!

As some other reviewers have mentioned, it is an absolute mystery to me why this lovely little scent has so many dislikes! I find it extremely charming. It is a pretty, flirty fragrance- I find the notes of cherry blossom and orange blossom particularly apparent, and the vanilla note very weak (a bonus, in my opinion). It is one perfume in my collection that just makes me feel happy when I spray it- it feels youthful and fresh.

Very pretty, innocent, yet coquettish and undeniably sweet and tempting ! At first it smells like Jimmy Choo EDT. But it has more gourmand and at the same time aquatic aspects. Woody and amber notes give it a refreshing feel, making this fragrance acceptable to wide range of taste. I think this is a very well composed, very well balanced fragrance. I bet it will be one of my fave frags !!

Fresh and light. Not very original but lovely, feminine and delicate. Citrusy at first, then pear, rose and vanilla become very present so it's juicy, romantic and sweet. Makes me think of Jimmy Choo, in a sweetest way. For young women. Correct lasting power.

Compared to the Repetto eau de parfum, I think this one lasts longer.. What I like about this perfume is the girly & soft aroma.. I never get tired sniffing my wrist a couple hours after sprayed this haha

I'm never particularly convinced by the idea of "cherry blossom" in general. As a young weeb in the mid-00's, I had a bottle of The Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT, and was determined to learn to love it. I wore it on and off, and thought perhaps Body Shop had a poor understanding of what cherry blossom was supposed to smell of. I've come to realise that I was hoping for cherry instead - a floral fruit perhaps, and I certainly do like cherry floral-fruit-gourmands like Lolita Lempicka Fleur Defendue. So I'm more than a little ambivalent on that very high floral top note and I've decided instead to think of that sharp opening blast as 'champagne'... or something. It's sparkling and acid enough to be such. It's not enough to sully the rest of the story for me; the round warmth of pear settles in so fast that you forget all about the cherry blossom, and roses and pears and vanilla are a year round joy as fragrance combos. This isn't the perfume a ballerina would wear. It's too wide awake and floral. It certainly meets the accepted aesthetic of ballet, girly, lovely, light, etc. But actual dancers spend most of their time stuck inside doing all the hard work ballet actually entails - classes, rehearsals, physical therapy, work outs, sewing, then the marathon of performance - there's not a lot of free time for walking down cherry blossom lined boulevards in Paris. If you want to smell like a ballerina I'd recommend giving Oriflame's Pretty Swan or similar powder frags a try. This is a ballet perfume, perhaps for the Rose Adagio in The Sleeping Beauty. A ballerina perfume must be a little bit more knowing than this is. As for the accusation of the drydown descending into manly or at the very least gender-neutral territory... I don't smell it. It does dry into a substantial wood-musk, but that's not inherently masculine. Unrelated to the actual juice - the spray pump is pressurised so a single pump gives a long, deep blast of perfume, instead of tiny squirt - very easy to apply too much if you don't anticipate it.

One of these "time machine" fragrances. Hard to believe this is a 2013 creation. Remember the late 90s and earliest 2000s ? Remember its countless fresh, woody musky, perfumey florals and fruity florals that were THE trendy scent of the time ? I like these florals a lot, and Repetto could be one of them. It's one of these florals that could have been made in the year 2000. And like fragrances of 20 years ago, it's more fully floral and projects quite a bit, so it's suitable for any season except Summer. It's not weak at all, and has enough base notes to give it a good longevity. The pear and cherry blossom are quite sweet, not the slightest bit gourmand, but more in the way it would have been done 20 years ago. But sadly, I find this sweetness somewhat synthetic, and a bit sour. I wish it would have been a bit more powdery and fresher as expected from a cherry blossom perfume. Repetto has a nostalgic feel that I enjoy a lot, and I don't think this is something meant only for young girls, its year 2000 vibe will certainly be attractive to older generations as well. It's pretty and easy to like, but I'd have liked it more if it smelled a bit more natural.

Repetto is delicate and lovely...I'm quite surprised it's not as savagely popular as Viva La Juicy. It doesn't call to my nose Coco Mlle, or Chance, or La Vie Est Belle (3 of my favorites), in the least. Maybe if I knew of only these three fragrances in the entire world, I'd be forced to compare Repetto to them...but I don't pick up the Polge- vanilla-patchouli-sweet in this on my skin. Repetto is very fruity, with prominent pear. I just can't make myself like pear as a fragrance note, and I've never owned a perfume that has any discernable pear notes...Repetto is not going to change this. If forced to compare Repetto to other fragrances with which I'm familiar, this smells like a muted blend of Especially Escada and Bath & Body Works Pink Chiffon. I like it, and I think it really suits the drastically feminine, delicate abstraction of Ballet marketed by Repetto. If you love pear you must have this one.

My first impressions of this perfume are that it's incredibly light and airy, pretty and feminine, yet I get this warmer feel for it as it wears longer. Now, about an hour after applying, Repetto has this soft, warm and luxurious scent that I am loving. Not too strong or overpowering, but still beautiful. Surprisingly, I have always hated rose (hello cheap bathroom potpourri), but this is definitely an exception. Vanilla always develops well on my skin, and it is definitely noticeable here, and the cherry blossom and pear make it more complex. I do agree with others here in comparing this to Jimmy Choo - Repetto is reminiscent of Jimmy Choo's sweeter, more innocent little sister.

With no disrespect intended, it smells like a Bath & Body Works fragrance, which is nothing to complain about unless that just isn't your style. It opens with a strong "cherry blossom" note (cherry blossoms don't actually have a fragrance) that reminds me of a great lotion my Aunt bought me once from B&BW. In tandem is a strong pear note closely followed by orange blossom. It's very sweet in the popular style but it also stays soft and delicate. It's very feminine and likely to appeal to girly girls of all ages. It also has excellent longevity for an EDT. That artificial cherry blossom note is too strong for me, personally, but I'd still consider this a people-pleaser.

Soo nice, pretty scent, a bit gourmand but not too much, it is rich yet delicate, not heavy, not heady, just very feminine with a classy vibe. The sweetness is light, it is very cozy, I won't say it is real complex or offers a nice development, because it doesn't. Polge is a great nose. His fragrances are crowd pleaders, always feminine, and modern. A lively mix of freshness, strength, and overall prettiness. Very similar to Coach Love..and a bit of Coco Mademoiselle in there too..very French.

The review that mentions tutus and ballet slippers is spot on. This is a delicate, feminine scent that brings to mind all things dainty and pretty. It’s French macaroons and pink champagne. It’s tea sandwiches and white gloves. It’s the way the color pink smells. It’s just so lovely and airy and sparkly. While I can see this not having the wow factor to be a love for most people, actual dislike for it is a mystery to me. It’s inoffensive in every way.

The opening of pear and cherry blossom smells lovely this very warm summer morning. I applied at 7:30 am and it's still on my skin at 4pm. On me, it is a very long lasting EDT and I find this pretty typical of anything with amber in the base - at least on my skin. As it dries down I get this soft smokey pear note that is just wonderful. With a price point of $35 for a 1 oz bottle, I'm happy I added this to my wardrobe!

Ads describe this fragrance as 'satine rose' and I would say, it is correct, at least at the beginning. Later it is more and more soapy, even if it keeps floral notes. Delicate scent for ladylike women. Perfect for evenings, when you go out, but would like to use some moderate & elegant fragrance.

If you love Guerlain`s Aqua Allegoria Cherry Blossom, you love this one! (like me) It`s one of the purest cherry blossom smells in the market. It`s really soft and suits well on day wear. Not very original, but I still love it!
