Charlie Silver

1st time using Charlie Silver today. I spray my perfume after showering & dressing before I go out to work. I don't carry my perfumes to work with me as I like to put enough perfume on to last all day, but I don't bathe in it. 1st spray, I picked up lime & Lily of the Valley, not sharp like Charlie White, which I love, but a lighter & pleasant fragrance, perfect for working in a hospital reception setting, as a lot of the designer fragrances are often over-powering & can be uncomfortable for most people, especially those with sinus problems & allergies. Later on, as the fragrance settled into my skin, I could no longer smell the lime or Lily of the Valley, but other fruits, peaches, apricots & pears. Not sickly, but a warm fruity fragrance & what I thought was a creamy vanilla smell & also, a hint of 'tea'! A pleasant, light fragrance, not too overpowering & a perfect scent for summer!

I've been on a Charlie run ever since I discovered the other Charlie's outside of Charlie Blue/original smell better I've been hunting them down. I came across this one while looking for Charlie White and Red today and decided to give it a chance. VERY VERY light and refreshing. I'm glad I didn't read too much into the reviews for this one. I immediately thought of summer and CK One combined with Ex'cla-ma'tion. It also reminds me of Walmart's designer impostor scent Capri Breeze. It is very aquatic,fruity (melon mainly) and yes there is definitely a scent of magnolia in this perfume. It reminds me of all of those 90s summer perfumes all in one. I like it a lot! I'm so happy I purchased it and it smells great after it dries on your skin. The initial squirt has a strong alcohol scent but it quickly fades away.

Charlie silver is a fragrance that has a different interpretation to each nose... I sometimes smell like sea nuances, slightly salty, white floral I thinks Magnolia more prominent and also the smell of earthy, green grass after the rain.... I don't find a bright fruity smell, but I just smells of lime like dish soap in a positive way. I like it for the smell but performance is poor, it's good for a light fragrance, very suitable for various casual occasions and hot weather

the drydown is almost the same as Calvin Klein CK Be (black bottle). I really like Charlie Silver, first notes are flowery and freash, but an hour later there is this drydown- like with Calvin Klein CK be, and somehow also reminds me of the Eden Cacharel (but also after some hours on my skin). I like to use it in the hot humid days, during summer.

Amazing perfume for hot steamy days. Very refreshing and calming, especially as a body mist after shower. It's one of the few perfumes I'm able to use in the unbearable hot days. The lasting power is not bad, and I don't mind to reapply because it's very cooling and refreshing.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND the negative comments... This is an excellent fruity SOAP,I LOVE IT! Makes me wanna smell it all the time,I recommend this if you love SOAPY fragrances! Smells expensive,just add fruits and flowers to PRADA AMBER POUR HOMME and you'll get this <3

Reminded big time of 'Eternity'. This is not very long lasting on me but is cheap enough for 100 mill EDT costing .$7.99 aussie dollars, one can spritz generously and often. A mature floral, dissipates fast and is linear. Cheers T.

Bought this as a little Xmas gift. But I opened it and I love it. The remaining scent mix does well on my skin, surprisingly. As regards the simple bottle - I couldn ́t care less.

I was so excited to get this because I love Charlie Gold. I wasn't disappointed. This perfume is summer in a bottle. Starts off like a Lime Drop cocktail, very boozy and bubbly. A tad melon..lots of aquatic. Simply fresh and clean. Smells EXACTLY like the expensive perfumes CK ONE and Escape. And for under 5 dollars you can't ask for more. I find the longevity is very good. Not too strong of a sillage but leaves a crisp scent lingering in the hot Summer air. It's 90 degrees today in Pittsburgh , Pa so this scent is definitely splendid. I don't detect a metallic scent at all just clean and crisp. It's like a day at the spa with cucumbers on the eyes ..soft and comforting. Cute bottle I don't find it ugly just simply done. UPDATE- I have had this on for 8 hours and I can still smell it a tad, it is still very upbeat and zesty and lingering lily of the valley ...just not as strong. I cant believe how wonderful Charlie scents are for being so inexpensive. The more expensive scents are just the same they just put the frag in a fancy bottle and packaging. Marketing also costs a fortune. I am convinced the inexpensive perfumes are just as good as the expensive ones. I worked at a department store and smelled all the fine frag's. update 2021 i can no longer wear this it has a note that turns on me or the bottle went bad

I really didn't know what to expect, from the reviews it could go either (any) way. I am really pleasantly surprised with Charlie Silver! The first and foremost note to my nose is sweet, ripe, juicy watermelon! Quite surprising but strong on the top and throughout the wear of it. I don't know if it's the combo of the lime and the pear, perhaps the peach too that create that decidedly watermelon note for me but whatever that's what I am getting. This is an airy sweet fragrance, not complex, straight forward clean and sweet. Not in a soapy way. It doesn't have any depth what you smell on the top you will be smelling to a lesser degree until it's gone. And that brings me to it's performance, very light on my skin, a bit stronger on my clothing. I will say that last night I sprayed it on my skin and night gown before bed and I could still smell it on my night gown in the morning so there's that but it was totally gone from my skin within an hour after application. This is a nice winter weather bed time, after bath fragrance. I will be curious how it performs in the warmer weather, I'm betting it will be better. I like it!

I get mostly citrus and lily of the valley. Nothing to ground it, no base notes. It's okay for a body spray but it's not what I would reach for in a perfume. I got a 100ml bottle as a freebee with my order from fragrancebuy.ca so I probably don't need to elaborate further. I was going to get rid of this bottle. It was just too harsh. I decided to try some layering and that was what was needed. I layered it with just some basic vanilla body spray from Avon which toned down the harshness and warmed it up. I quite like it this way.

This was my first purchase of the Charlie's and it's quite unique all I get it's an aquatic pear, but pears stored on a metallic jar. I'm not quite sure what's causing this but it's really hard to pull this one off at least on me. The only time I'm able to enjoy this one it's on a cold spring windy day, on another day the projection is ok but on a windy day it blooms definitely you should not blind buy this unless you're into vintage fragrances like me because it is quite unique.

A floral fruity aquatic. The initial lime zest dries down quickly and combines with the lily-of-the-valley to create a warm but fresh summery floral. Longevity is ok, I find this stays better on clothes than on skin! I paid AU$7.99 for 100ml, and at that price I think you can afford to apply it liberally. Great as a cheap and cheerful perfume to use on days where you might only leave the house for 15 minutes but still want to smell nice!

Another Summer blind buy. This one I was happy I got. Charlie Silver lived up to its name. Cool fruity foral that livens up your senses. The only downside is that this fragrance does not last very long.An hour at best on me. The scent is very feminine,cool,and crisp. I would still recommend this as one that layers well with other similar scents.I sprayed mine over Avon's Odyssey,and was quite pleased with the results.

This is really quite lovely. Very fresh and zingy. It smells like how vodka soda water with a twist of lime and ice tastes. I had to put shedloads on to be able to smell it and longevity is fairly rubbish. But at £2.99 delivered for 100ml I'm not going to be clutching my pearls in horror, and will probably make this my work summer perfume (already have winter one). It has be worth a punt for the price.

I find this acceptable for work even if I can relate to any comment about smelling like air freshener. Yes this smells clean and has a bit of lime and other fruit to it but I wear it well and it warms up fine on my skin. It is very similar to Charlie White and probably to various body sprays out there. The longevity is great and the sillage is wonderful but not too strong. Inexpensive good find.

Another well named Charlie. While Gold is warm and glowing, Silver is shining and cold. It smells to me almost exactly like chilled water with slices of fruit and lots of icecubes, with the clean LOV notes floating over the top. I could wish for some basil, mint or eucalyptus to make it perfect. Still, it's incredibly cheap, and a great one to reach for on a muggy day.

Edt: Happy, fresh and sweet! Smells like a hand cream with lime, pear, apricot and some floral notes. All the listed notes are there. Something in this fragrance makes it smell like cough drops (Bromhexine)... Other than that, I like it - especially compared to Charlie White or Blue - but I wouldn't want to use it as a perfume or an air freshener.

Its alright, its not something I would wear everyday. After it settles it has a slight metallic scent that I like, it reminds me of drinking cold water, when you have a slight metallic taste in your mouth. The floral notes are very light, some of them arent very noticeable but is very good regardless

Charlie Silver & Charlie Gold are my favorite of all the Charlie’s. Charlie Silver is fresh, clean and timeless. Great in spring and summer. Cheapie that mixes well with fresh scented body sprays and lotions. I like to mix with Bath & Body Works products to help the scent last longer!

Like the previous reviewer, I too thought it was aquatic from the first spray onward. The only note I can detect is melon, which is not listed. This is like L'eau d'Issey. Not exactly a dupe, but a very similar vibe

In my second opinion, I find the pear in this to slowly turn a bit funky and bitter on me. But, to combat that, I layered VS Pear Glace on top of it and it turned into something long lasting and beautiful!

A very aquatic smell with a slight metallic hint. I personally liked gold more between the two charlies but this one is pretty good too. Revlon nailed the retro feel in their charlie series

This is like holiday in a bottle. Smells like the aromas that swirl around you while you're lying by a pool, with suncream on your skin, and freshly laundered towels. Fresh and different.

This, for me, is a replica of Charlie White with fruit added. I like it, but I was expecting for it to be different like the rest of the Charlie's are. Nice and fresh though!

i felt a little stinging when first used .. (maybe because i'm indonesian :-)) but after an hour, i started feel soft and comfortable fragrance. just not last long. thats it

If the red did not convince me, the silver did it. Fruity opening with pear followed by a beautiful apricot. All under the docile hand of lily of the valley. Great!

At first it only smells alcohol, about an half hour later flowery/fruity and in the final like a warm warm filling rosy good smell. I like it but I don't love it :)

This smells exactly how I expected and hoped it would--a simple, crisp, almost metallic pear scent. The projection is strong and the longevity is incredible.

I smell melon, aquatic and a white musk base. Lasting power is medium, it's a lovely perfume for the price.

Nice light little floral fruity. Can spray liberally. Great for the price. Clean.

I am an avid fan of the House of Revlon, especially the Charlie fragrances. Charlie Silver, not so much. I have dedicated this week to wearing vintage fragrances--those released in 2003 and before. Charlie Silver was a blind buy that I bought about 2 or 3 weeks ago for a very reasonable price. While I do not regret the purchase--it is light, fruity, feminine, and wears like a body mist-- I will not re-purchase. My nose does not detect any white flowers, it is totally fruity. When this fragrance dries down, it totally disappears. It has no scent bubble, nor does it turn into a skin scent. Charlie Silver is definitely the lightest of the Charlie series. It does not linger, nor is it bold like the other Charlie's. If you want others to experience your perfume-y goodness--this is the absolute last Charlie you would purchase! This is best to wear lounging around the house on a cool, crisp day; Maybe cleaning, cooking, or doing other chores... Not a safe blind buy, unless you're like me, and wanted to try all of the Charlies.

Someone gifted my mom a bottle and I tested this on my skin and on a wooden closet lol. If you smell from afar a very elusive smell that is kind of there at the back of your nose but not quite so you want to sniff more to see how it actually smells like (but you never really catch it) BUT smells like stale cat piss and cedar if you sniff close to your skin---so I totally get the mixed reviews and descriptions. From afar, it's a very fresh aquatic, even sweet but not citrus at all. I agree with PR 87 that it kind of smells like pears in a metallic jar. I think the projection is amazing, too amazing, because I know I've smelled this on other people, and the scent lingers even when they're several meters away. It's impossible to tell what that scent is actually is until you sniff the dry down when the cat piss mellows out and you realize it's actually sweet semi-powdery cat piss drizzled on ambrosia??? Idk lmao

On me (male) it ends up a clean, slightly sweet, mineralic/metallic scent that doesn't wander far off the skin. It still leans slightly female so if it's unisex, it's just barely. I much prefer Avon's hardcore GRANITE or STEEL, or Demeter's THUNDERSTORM, but would love to smell Charlie Silver on a woman in heat. I mean, a woman IN THE heat. You know what I mean.

In my opinion, this is how a mermaid would smell like. Take it as a negative or a positive thing. It would be great if it could last a bit longer. Totally unisex performance, fair price. 3/5

This one is very light and vaguely sweet, with a hint of metallic scent. I would spray it casually after shower, but I think it is too weak for me as a daily fragrance at work.

Not bad i guess even tho it’s really really cheap. My younger brother wears this a lot . It gives fresh and clean vibes. But for me, it’s more like hairspray than perfume.

The smell of water just imagine the smell of a fish tank a little pear and a little lemon scent I see Charlie Blue heavier and more beautiful

As you’ll notice from the reviews in my profile...I’m a BIG Charlie collection fan, and have most of them sitting on my dresser! I wear a different Charlie everyday and even sing the theme songs as I spray them on myself “The more you tease, the more you please, you’re so Chaaaaaaarlie, you’re a Charlie girl” LOL. But this is one Charlie perfume I really do NOT like! The only way I can describe this without talking too much, is...I sprayed this in the air and let it fall over me...I walked away smelling like someone had dumped a basket of 3 week old seafood and vinegar over me! I got into the car and my mum looked at me with a revolting look on her face and said “Oh my god, you stink” ha ha ha! So I would avoid this! There is no apricot, magnolia, peach, or pear insight! The only scents that come out is Lime and Lily-of-the-valley and the two of them combined is very harsh and funky, like floor cleaner for sure! VERY disappointed after reading what notes would be in it, only to end up smelling like a garbage can!

It smells fresh but I can only detect fruits. On my skin it disappears within an hour. I usually spray it on my sheets before I go to bed, it gives me a sense of serenity. Update: Today I desided to give it one more chance and I sprayed it on my neck. Well, I almost hate this scent - all I get is a chemical lime, pear and the lamest lily of the valley I've ever smelt. Absolutely generic :(

I don't know what happened with my bottle - all I got was a faint smell of alcohol and an even fainter smell of something fruity and then it was completely gone - I might as well have sprayed myself with water. I had three other people try it to make sure it wasn't just me and the same thing happened. Big disappointment!

Nope! Oh the horror. I think the accountant at revlon sneaked into the lab and played a joke on us here. This smells like rubbing alcohol mixed with lime. Stick to celene dions pure brilliance if you want a fresh pear spring like fragrance this im affraid must have been a practical joke at the labs at Revlon.

Smelled exactly like Fire and Ice Cool and Impulse Ico body spray - all three of which were the 'it' smells of the end of my teen years around 98-99. Very cool with no warmth whatsoever, watery/ozonic metallic and slightly masculine. My worst nightmare when it comes to fragrances.

As a Charlie fan, I really wanted to like this. But YUK. This one turns my stomach. I detect none of the notes listed, though I do like all of them otherwise. Just not here.Very metallic, cheap plastic smelling. I love Red, like Gold. This one is horrendous. Sorry.

It doesn't smell too good on me. It smells even sweeter than it does in the bottle, like overripe fruits. If anybody wants it, I'd rather give it away for a couple of samples rather than just keep it unused. I'd ship from the U.S.

accidentally bought this, I think I meant to get the White *shrugs* Its its got sweet soft juicy pear and thats as far as I got... I gave it to a 17 year old girl and she adores it, So thats nice..

fragrance still on my clothes after 4 days

Bourcet (03/05/21) was right about the animalic scent. Before I read that review, I interpreted this essence like weak mouthwash that we spit on the sink after swishing as directed. I gave my bottle to my dad to use as a temporary car odor neutralizer, the saliva smell doesn't appear in a hot car. Edit 3/26/22: No one likes this scent!

Cold and metallic; it makes me want to shiver. It tightens my jaw and churns my stomach. I couldn't get rid of this one fast enough. It's worth noting, though, that I found a buyer almost immediately. The cheap price is very attractive, and I'm sure this would work as an icy fragrance to counter the heat of summer.
