Flair

I have a small roller ball of Flair that I found on clearance at a drugstore a few years ago. I've tried it here and there but it never did much for me. It's summer now and our family decided to take a jaunt to the river today to play in the sun and water....I grabbed my little roller ball on my way out. Not sure why as I haven't used it in months and months. I put some on quickly and rubbed some in my palms and ran it through my freshly washed hair while I was at it...not expecting to smell anything other than fresh. Several minutes later, I couldn't believe how beautiful I smelled. Flair is most definitely a Chypre but it's a high pitched, sweet and fruity one.....similar to David Yurman.Interestingly, I also felt a Thierry Mugler vibe while wearing Flair. It wavered somewhere in between the sweet, spicy warmth of Angel and the heady, ethereal florals of Alien. Makes no sense if you are solely looking at the notes listed here. As I've read in other reviews, I don't find this one "mature" at all...feels kind of timeless to me. It's fresh and fruity and clean with just a smidge of spice and dries down to a clean and softly round floral with, I swear, just a hint of sensuous musk ( again...not listed in notes). I'm also reminded just a bit of Halle but Flair is less dense, more high pitched and fruity. I'm probably wrong but I think this perfume came out prior to the date listed above ( 2006) I feel like this was around in the late nineties...maybe even before that? I think I would, very much, like to purchase a larger bottle of this stuff.I love it when you've been trying to wear to a perfume over and over again that doesn't really work then some sort of spontaneous hocus pocus takes place and said perfume reveals its unique and magical beauty to you. For those of you that don't like this much....maybe keep trying? If you find that you still hate it...I'd be happy to take it off of your hands!

Flair is a very unique fragrance as I see none of us can come up with anything else it really smells like! And in this case, that is a bonus of this little hidden gem for a chypre-lover like myself that doesn't want to smell like all the others chasing fads. This is a big departure from my usual selections & preferences as I don't usually like sugary-sweets & candy scents. But this one is a different creature altogether! I would certainly have never imagined the notes would come out smelling this wonderful. I wore this scent a lot throughout the month of December & through the holidays. Although we Southerners enjoy our pralines any time of the year, a large fresh praline log roll has gracefully & fragrantly had to stay wrapped under the tree & wait for Christmas morning for many generations. I guess it is a southern thing---a tray with plated sliced praline log rolls being served with hot tea, coffee, Russian Tea or apple cider during the mild winters in the deep south. We take great care & delight when the abundant pecan orchards locally have a bumper-crop year & the pralines & pecan pies are being churned of a many a kitchen in the south. Making them & giving them as holiday gifts is a long generational southern tradition. When the pralines are fresh, the sweet nutty aroma of the pecan still manages to shine through. Positively delicious! And for Revlon to combine praline with the fruity plum, & tart black currant---genius! The peony is fresh & bright, the LOV peeps through softly, the patchouli brings a delightful & unexpected crisp green tone that only compliments, rather than overpower the more subtle notes. They play so well together---these "opposites" pull off that chypre vibe in a unique & very fresh way. I love this fragrance & wear it for all occasions. It draws compliments & it is nice smelling so very unique! Great little unsung bargain beauty!

This is what I call my sexy fragrance. I truly feel it should be worn at night but sometimes I can't help but wear it during the day. It smells very womanly, and adult without being overpowering. I also have the body lotion which is incredible on its own and very moisturizing. This lasts forever. I have a purse I rarely ever use, and during my move last year I was organizing my purses. I still had a small bottle of the lotion in this purse and as soon as I unzipped it out came this wonderful scent, from a tightly closed bottle!

What a nice little discount priced surprise! A luscious passion fruit opening gives way to a syrupy slurp of ylang ylang greened-up by muguet de bois. I'd call this a fall scent mostly because the black currant and plum remind me of grapes ripening on the vine but then again, the peony is so insistent I can almost see the ants licking the nectar from the peony buds. Strangely, what remains for me at the drydown is an odd combination of muguet de bois and praline, although I don't notice the praline for an hour or more after spritzing. It's as if I'd spritzed Diorissimo and then spilled a jar of caramel sauce all over me - oddly delicious. Bring on the whipped cream! Wow! Revlon... where've you been hiding Flair?

This is a fruitchouli (a perfume with predominantly fruit + patchouli notes). I am not a big fan of fruitchoulis, but if you like them, you might like this. I have an old bottle of this, so it might've smelled different new, but now it's a deep/evening fragrance. It opens a little juicy due to the black currant and passion fruit and it stays pretty linear. It's slightly mature, but not old. And it doesn't smell cheap, but its not my thing. You might like this if you like JLO's Glow After Dark, it has a similar vibe. Update. I like this. It smells better in hotter weather. I get less of the fruitiness and more woodiness which is how I like it. It performs much more like a chypre now in the heat.
