Fleurs de Jontue Lotus de Nuit

Wow! I loved this a whole lot and wore it all the time when it was in the shops in the late 70's-80's. Fleurs de Jontue Lotus was to be sure a bright and shiny Lotus in my memory. It fit my blonde youthful optimisim perfectly in those days surrounded by the burgeoning local music scence in Boston, and the uncertainty of finding my way in the world. Why the heck was it's debut so abruptly cut short?? I see that, like any vintage available if your willing to pay, but I think I would rather keep it tucked back in it's place, in keeping with the memories.

I just received my 20 ml bottle from a seller on ebay...it's a lot more powdery than I remember. I'm very happy to have it in my collection. This is the first perfume I received as an adult. I received it from two young women I worked with, who introduced me to parties and night clubs. It was my signature fragrance from 18yrs-20yrs. Memories. :)

The Jontue trio of Lotus de Nuit, Iris De Fete & Rose de Mai were sold together but don't remind me of each other at all. Lotus de Nuit is a big tuberose, round floral that is all about sultry summer nights. Like a gtabasso said it really has the quality of an expensive Guerlain & I am comparing it to Mahora in an arm by arm comparison right now. Lotus de Nuit has a powdery cushion for the big florals and I do wish the notes were listed as this is not just lotus. I detect some lily & ylang ylang too. After I used the original trio I got in the 80's I acquired more from eBay & it's still as good as I remembered.

My husband loves this fragrance! I really don't know whether it smells like a lotus or not, but it is very pretty and doesn't smell like anything else. It's a soft, musky floral, with decent sillage. For me, it's bordering on being a little sharp, but only if I overspray (which I love to do). It's not too sweet or powdery and it's great for daytime wear in warmer months. It should be fine for the office as well. Just an all around fun fragrance.

Just ordered a bottle and was surprised that I really liked it. Blind buy. It went on a soft, rich, expensive floral like a Guerlain or a Caron. Then it dried down a little sharper and cheaper. Fantastic top notes. No projection or lasting power. It reminds me faintly of Red Moscow without the punch. Not bad for $7.99 and worth a try.

Bought this for myself as I was going out for a night on the town. I found it pleasant enough but was surrpised by the reaction from the guys! Several stopped and turned back (strangers on the street!!) and told me they loved the smell of the perfume I was wearing and asked what it was. It's a keeper for me. I make sure I always have some on hand. Mind you it doesn't last long and I had to respray a few times throughout the night. The reaction from the males was the same haha.

Old school . Smells and behaves like a "drug store classic". Scored this at a yard sale for $2.50 . I guess this is from the early 1980s ? It's a bit more powdery than the original . Nice but forgettable . I guess it's not all "rare & discontinued" because full bottles are going for $20.00 online.
