One Day In Provence

As a perfume reseller, a client of mine told me to look into One Day in Provence by Reyane Tradition because she heard that it was similar to her favorite perfume La Vie Est Belle by Lancome and she couldn't find it anywhere at a reasonable price at the moment. So I got her this perfume but I told her I wanted her to compare and let me test this perfume also for my YouTube channel. The results are in. Packaging: The box looks like a high end fragrance with attention to details. The bottle is simple with no outstanding designs except the logo on the top of the atomizer. It is a very heavy glass bottle,1 lb.& 7 ounces. The cap although fancy is plastic which took away from the presentation. Overall I would give Packaging and Presentation 7.5/10 rating Fragrance Notes: Top notes include juicy pear and tart blackcurrant. At the heart of the perfume, floral notes of iris, jasmine and orange blossom give the blend its sweet, feminine quality. Finally, warm base notes of vanilla, praline and tonka bean boost the sweetness in the perfume while patchouli adds an element of earthiness to the scent. These notes are a "dupe" of la Vie Est Belle as it has the same exact notes as the Lancome fragrance. Opening of One Day vs La Vie Est Belle: The client being a lifelong wearer of La Vie Est Belle said that the opening smelled great and her companions at work liked the smell of the perfume as well. She said the opening is very similar to la Vie Est Belle. I tested the fragrance as well and I agree with her, it is very similar in its opening. 8/10 rating Drydown of One Day vs La Vie Est Belle: The client enjoyed the opening but said that the drydown is not similar to La Vie Est Belle although it is a pleasant fragrance. I kind of liked the drydown although from a masculine perspective that earthiness probably from the patchouli felt better on me than on a female. She stated that the drydown on La Vie Est Belle is much better. 7/10 rating Longevity: This fragrance last a long while. I tested it at 3pm and could still smell if moderately on my skin at midnight. 9/10 rating Sillage: This extends more than an arms length for 2 to 3 hours and then starts to slowly come closer to the skin. Since the opening smells nice but can be strong too many sprays can spell disaster so be careful ladies. 7.5/10 rating Price: One Day in Provence is clearly the winner. This is such an unknown fragrance that the price point is around $30-$35 dollars average. I would probably imagine that once the word gets out and there are more reviews in the fragrance world, this price point will go up. An elegant, sophisticated day or night fragrance that will get you noticed. Price: 10/10 rating Clarification: Remember that fragrances are subjective. Each skin type is different and each one has a unique chemistry. This fragrance may work better on your skin than on mine. It may appeal to you or not. That is why each fragrance review is based on the individual's subjective view of how the fragrance reacted on their particular skin. Hope you enjoyed the review and it helps you out.

There isn’t much on Fragrantica for this so I’ll just add a little. From the mf: “ Top notes of pear and black currant open the scent with a pleasant fruity smell. The heart is grounded in floral notes of jasmine, iris and orange blossom. Vanilla, praline, tonka bean and patchouli for a pleasant grounded base”. I just bought a FB off EBay, mainly for the bottle, and did receive the pictured Lalique style bottle. The fragrance itself is a very light fruity floral, I would say the notes are pretty accurate. It is pleasant and I can’t imagine anyone finding it offensive. Nothing extraordinary but I am happy for the price Update: if anything I would say this is a very light take on Si Fiori. It is quite pleasant if transient. But on me it lasts 2+ hours, a very close to the skin fragrance

Rarely....do I bash a fragrance. Well, I have to this time. Buyer beware...the newer bottle is waaaay different than the one shown above. The one I was sent is totally different...no "lalique" inspired cap...and the bottle weighs...1 pound at least...omg. The glass and cap are CHEAPO. (The box/packaging was impressive.) Now...to the scent....omg..what a MESS !! Lancome LVEB....???...Ha !!!...no....same "family" of notes....but...CLOYING...over-bearing....cheap smell juice category. Ok...worst blind buy--ever for me. I was won over buy the bottle in the picture. Lesson learned.

This smells like La Vie Est Belle.
