Striking

Overripen Watermelon. Striking is a metallic watermelon with some rotten stink that nods to Secretions Magnifiques. Weird yet interesting. The official pyramid seems a little different from the one here. TOP: Fresh Metallic/Lightning Accord, Pink Peppercorn, Quenching Watermelon and Guava; HEART: Ginger, Jasmine, Sage; BASE: Amber, Crocodile Wood, Petrichor. Conceptually, Striking aims to picture lightning and create 'a high voltage jolt of visceral sensuality.' With this concept in mind, I cannot deny its success. Nevertheless, the rotten fruity juice here is very prominent, robbing me of this image from time to time. Maybe this is a storm on a tropical beach? Christophe Laudamiel created Striking, as he mentioned in a BeautyMatter interview in June 2022. (It is yet surprising that Rich Mess official website has not disclosed his name, considered Christophe's consistent advocate for the Perfumery Code of Ethics.)

I don't get it. You don't like weird notes and eccentric perfumes? Ok. But why trying this and leaving bad review if it's not your thing? Anyone that considers this not wearable and extreme hasn't tried enough in this group of perfumes. This is nice and interesting perfume in world of repetitive and boring

This just smells crazy. (And i love crazy) Smells like lube and bad decisions. Only pornstars and badasses can wear this. Also reminds me of the gym.

This is a fascinating concept, one that I acquired for its value as olfactory art, which is good, because it's barely wearable as perfume. The crackling pepper metallic accord is quite exhilarating, but the unflagging, potent watermelon that emerges quickly (and suffocates the composition when sampled on paper), is a little tough to get along with at times. Fortunately, the watermelon plays the role of rain water fairly well when worn, even if the mask sometimes slips. Overall, I appreciate this strange composition as art and gladly wear it, although I wear it when I'm spending time at home. For those who like fragrances that are more conceptual art than typical perfume.

Striking starts with a ripe guava + trident watermelon and after 1,2 minutes the scent transform from watermelon bubblegum to mens urinal in a public bathroom, bad... very bad. After 20,30 minutes, the urine go away and the watermelon+guava bubblegum return with an amber base. happy ending to a fragrance, which could be incredible, but is just pleasant and happy.
