Unfortunately this is the most beautiful perfume I've ever had. I might be a clown for buying this but it's really liquid gold. The sillage is unfortunately on the weak side so I don't recommend buying this unless you're really in love like me. The scent pyramid is quite accurate to me, almost surprisingly so and so many complex scents I feel like get lost or simplified by a review. Immediately I get the black cardamom and saffron notes, it smells truly like beautiful, expensive, but not garish. It feels slightly sweet, warm, but dark; dark, not in a haunting, ancient vampire in your attic kind of way, more like an ever present normalized force of a gentle but firm, continuous and mysterious presence. It's strangely reminiscent of something animalic to me, but not with the funk you'd imagine; additionally, some folks recommended and said it's similar to T-Rex by Zoologist and I really disagree. The animalics in T-Rex are truly befitting and primal, almost stinky, kinda funky, and the dry down is nice but it's a very divisive perfume. I dont like it. In comparison, this is like a black/amber silk sheen fog wrapped around you, floating; the mysterious but dark presence in the back of the room. It's elegant but not gaudy. I really believe this would be wearable on anyone, especially those who enjoy Rick Owens of course. I mean, it's his scent after all. Tangent: But if you asked me on a deeper level, I feel like Rick often takes cues from designers he works with, like Kristina Nagel, who does photography that doesn't have literal meaning but evokes a strong emotional response. It's the same with Rick's clothing and large abstract, often brutalist but definitely out there silhouettes, that go with the more mundane but dark color palettes reminiscent of goth or alternative subcultures. He's always trying to be subversive and make the unseen, seen. I believe is a literal design choice that goes a long with his clothes and brand as a whole. Something that's often unseen but when seen, is wonderful and beautiful. Almost a rebellion to the showoffy-ness of other scents. Not my favorite design choice but a decision or rather, result that seems very close to what he values, and I respect that. This perfume dry down are truly where it shines for me. It's a super rich and beautiful blend of oakmoss and palo santo with a really smooth and pillowy vanilla that isn't cloying at all. The vanilla reminds me more of a fresh tahitian vanilla bean pod that's been somehow atomized and floats like a cloud over your skin, then there's the warm heart notes, with amber melted and poured over it all within a boutique shop that likely has sold incense for so long that the smell just quietly lingers there, but you can notice it when you look for it. It's just truly amazing. I seriously can only hope that I find a scent that's similar, otherwise I'm gonna be broke.

apart from the fact that one spray of this absolute masterpiece will last you for days, this is genuinely one of the best smoky and woody incense perfumes ever made, and surely features the best palo santo note ive smelled in my whole life. its warm, raw, earthy, almost dirty and simply beautiful. the main discourse regarding this perfume is obviously the absurd price tag, but considering this perfume has the same price of pur oud by louis vuitton and its five times better i can almost comprehend the price, also given the total exclusivity of the scent being a *very* limited edition. if you ever stop by a rick owens boutique give this gem a try. 9.5/10

Near perfect vintage-ish resinous dark chypre, one of the best fragrances in that group I have ever smelled. Way overpriced unfortunately, but if I had that kind of money to spend on a frag, I'd probably go for it.

A strong and vivid personality—you can either fall in love with it or hate it. For me, it happened to be a match. It blossoms beautifully on my skin. No regrets.

True, it is expensive... But I’ve never smelled a perfume as divine and diabolical as this one! So I cherish it for special occasions.

Got a sample from DecantPlanet to check out what's with the price. Currently not too moved based on a first try. It's mainly an earthy, non-smokey incense, and resinous fragrance. Very much like the unlit incense sticks used at a Buddhist temple. To me, it does smell similar to fragrances like Oud Isaphan but without the fruitiness. Performance is pretty good though, and the scent isn't revolting. If you like resinous and incense-y scents then check it out, but imo the price is not worth a full bottle.

Eh, it's like whatever yk? I mean it's great don't get me wrong, but it's not as great as it's made up to be. It genuinely smells generic, nothing special imo

It is in limited production, of only a #thousand bottles that are in 50 ml size. I had the opportunity to try it out at #Rick Owen’s #SoHo. It is not what I was expecting. I thought based on some comparisons of tyrannosaurus rex 🦖by @zoologistperfumes that it would be extremely challenging to pull off. However, this is a tame resinous, earthy, and smokey scent. The price makes sense for how beautifully blended it is. It is very #complex and #beautiful that it is a hard to #clone the #scent. I do not get T-Rex at all, it is, sweeter, rounder, smoother, and airy. There is a darkness to this perfume that suits someone wearing Rick Owen’s clothing- dark and #avant-garde. But, surprisingly not as edgey as I thought it would be. The #niche perfume enthusiasts will find it very #classy- it is definitely not meant for the #casual nose. If you are wearing this, you are wearing it for yourself, not to please others. Although the scent sat closer to my skin, it was extremely long lasting. First it opens with a smoky, earthy, and resinous tone that is complicated and intriguing. It was really #addictive to keep smelling over and over. Then over time, it was changing a lot. You can really extract some softness and sweetness from it with a touch of balsamic and animalic hints. It was an awesome perfume. If it was not for the price tag, I would have bought it on the spot as I loved it! Definitely a collectors item!!!

Holy fuck. This is the most diabolical, crazy, intoxicating (in a completely neutral sense), and bewildering perfume i have ever experienced. First of all, Michelle Lamy you crazy hoe! This perfume is an appetite suppressant and it gives the exact same feeling as chemically-induced (stimulants) nausea that resides in the back of the throat and upper stomach. it's crazy. some fashionrexia voodoo shit happening in this. I don't want to eat or drink anything at all. #toxic lol. When you're wearing this, you smell it all the time and it smells absolutely ANIMAL. Very resiny, and SO layered - if i use the back of my nose to pick up this scent i can smell the citrus SO clearly, like a juicy sugar-coated lemon slice, but if i use the front i can't smell that at all. and it also smells like 100 monkeys coated in incense ash chasing you. Styrax is incredibly apparent in this one, and smells "sharp" at the entrance of my nose and round and bouncy at the back of the head. And don't even get me started on how you can taste ALL OF IT if you breathe through your mouth - but if you taste it in the back of your throat that's where the very comforting and sweet vanilla comes out, a very true and expensive vanilla bean scent Emotions/effects induced: fear, paralysis, intoxication, laughter, nostalgia, romance, fatigue, shock, feeling of dirtiness, confusion, psychic powers, frustration, emptiness, warmth, flush, excitement. makes me feel like i am a shiny greasy beetle encased in amber for centuries, and it's cursed with ancient ghouls, used as the centerpiece for an edible arrangement. I can't even put a love/hate to this because overall im simply scared of the trickery in this bottle. Not once has a fragrance challenged me so!

It retails on his website for $1,774.00 unfortunately so my chances of trying this are slim to none. Love Rick Owens, love the bottle and the box it comes in (silver fir lined with camel skin.) and the notes look promising. I am trying to find info on the composer and what beauty manufacturer they worked with but perhaps fragrantica will be posting an article.

A beautiful and opulent incense fragrance. I couldn't afford a full bottle, but was lucky enough to come across a generous sample. If the packaging is streamlined and the cost comes down, this is HG material for me.

LOVE THIS!!! It DEF reminds me of ZOOLOGIST ́s T-rex. If you dont want to dish out over 1,000 dollars THEN T-rex is for You. :-)
