Ozbek

21. september 2015 i ́ve been sorting my bottles and have discovered that i have this fragrance both in EDT and Extrait. I have never ever trid this before, i only know the designer but never managed to try ny of his creations. The review is for wrist test from a brand new EDT spray bottle, freshly unsealed and talen out of it ́s box by me. YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME! Such a hideous bottle, poorly done by the way, contains SUCH a gorgeous jasmine-hyacint-honey bomb!!! At first i was sceptical and thought it was no good at all, but thenn "WHAM!" it started to bloom and develop. I have to be honest, i have yet rarely seen such a beautiful combo of jasmine and hyacint, it smells sooooo natural, so intoxicating, im head over heels! It ́s like im smelling of a linden honey, no kidding. So fluid, delicate, yet very potent. I want to dress in white and wear this fragrance. The sillage is quite heavy and lasting power is great! No retro at all, very much nowdays and of a niche monoscent quality! Would love to try EDP as well UPDATE: I have tried the extrait as well on my other wrist, The difference is significant. The extrait is all about honeyed freesia and peach at first, very thick and heady. I wasn ́t even enjoying it in the opening notes, but then the jasmine saved it all. It is still more syropy than the EDT and very sweet (the way the honey is sweet and melting in your mouth). I do not think i will wear Extrait often if ever will, but the EDT is fabulous!!!

Dear Mr Ozbek.. if you are reading it- perhaps.. no .. thank you for this amazing fragrance! It's stunning! I think every woman who feels 100% woman should buy it! Even if it was created in 1995 it's so...fresh and beautiful...it's magnificent! Here is the thing I am 100% I know it from Sacks...I have a problem to navigate- what perfume smells like this... I am sure someone have copied or just got formula from Ozbek. Sisley? Aerin... I can't visualize now.. but I am 100% sure right now someone is selling same formula in different bottle. 150% more than what I have paid. It's so interesting.. I was thinking about purchase it... I just can't remind.. what perfume it is. I am sure I know it its 100% same formula.. to what I have had before in my hands... unless ... someone sent me fake scent- instead... real one...someone just put modern scent to my oil...I am sure I know it....I would be sad if that would happen. But the thing is mine.. is oily... I doubt It's...like this in Sacks.

O. is all about honey. There are florals listed in the pyramid, but what I get is the strong, linear honey note. It's a photo realistic honey, straight from the jar. O. smells opulent, as many honey frags do, there's an innate smoothness to that sweet note. Sillage and lasting power are average. O. could be work safe if applied lightly. The perfume is somewhat unisex. There is a resemblance to Caroline Herrerra's honey scent, and for some reason O. reminds me of Alien. Must be that jasmine note ... I happen to like honey perfumes, and O. is a fine example of this particular type of fragrance. The minaret shaped bottle is an unusual design, and would make a fine addition to a perfume collection.

Thanks for the review gtabasso, sounds divine and I ordered a mini. Also, just to let you know, I found the 1.7 oz on Amazon (1 bottle left) for $50 which seems like a good price. Looking forward to checking it out. Edit: 4.14 Testing a splash bottle: Rifat Ozbek is a heavy, honeyed jasmine which comes across like tuberose. That said, this scent is also a little indolic but still wearable. Better suited to cool spring days rather than the height of the summer. Two decades after creation, my first encounter, and I found a 90s vintage scent I can wear. Will decant this splash sample because I’d like to test it with a spray. I really like this perfume.

I have purchased it because of my passion for Islam religion. I love islamic architecxture I collect arabian oils perfumes. When I saw this pretty bottle...its my identity and respect for amazing part of history...and amazing oriental art and architecture. Because I am perfume freak of course I have to have it in my collection. NO I dont really coleect bottles.. this one is the unique exemption towards by colection. A lot of love to women who used to use it. A lot of respect for amazing Islam and minarets... from Middle east.

This perfume smells like some instant jasmine tea that are sold in the plastic bottle/cup, you will find them everywhere in Indonesia. Don't get me wrong, it’s not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, i really enjoy Ozbek! Jasmine, ylang, and honey are the center, harmonized by freesia and hyacinth. Peach and musk are the cheerleaders. It’s a sweet honeyed floral fragrance, not heavy or intense but still quite prominent. It has a bit of fresh nuance. The bottle is as gorgeous as the juice inside.

This is exquisite. It goes on like a honeyed neroli fragrance with a bit of underlying sharp hyacinth and freesia. It is very musky. A lovely honey musky floral. Swoon. I'd love a full bottle. It reminds me of an indolic skanky jasmine covered in honey. Mmmm. In the final drydown though it transforms and loses the honey, jasmine and musk. It's sort of ends up reminding me of a vintage orchid fragrance.

Rare to find , magic to be hold , I have the edp&shower gel&body cream , it's sweet and spicy , just love it !

Very nice perfume, sweet floral, with subtle fruit notes and honey. I never would have thought to pick it up based on the odd looking bottle- I won't go so far as to say ugly, but it's definitely strange. The perfume is very nice though. It reminds me of a favorite fragrance I have from Volnay.

I bought a miniature mainly because the bottle is spectacular, but that's where my love affair with Ozbek ends. There are some pretty florals in there but for me they are buried beneath a very putrid urinal smell that ruins it for me. I am fascinated by all the takeaways from other reviewers and how our different chemistry and noses experience fragrances so differently.

Gorgeous minaret bottle. Absolutely stunning fragrance, sweet and oriental with heady floral notes. I like to dab some on the back of my neck just at the hairline as the perfume lingers on the hair beautifully and over 8 hours later I can still catch whiffs of it's delightful scent. The fragrance reminds me of a head shop I visited when I was a teenager in the 1990s - an opulent mixture of exotic aromas. I do not believe all notes present in the fragrance are actually listed in the pyramid above. I wanted to add that it has a lot of similarities in scent to the original vintage formula of Poison by Christian Dior, Vallee des Rois by Mira Takla and Daniel de Fasson. In my opinion, I would add extra ingredients and revise the note pyramid for Ozbek as to include: Top notes: rosewood, plum, freesia, citrus, coriander and peach Middle notes: lily of the valley, orange blossom, tuberose, heliotrope, rose, pittosporum jasmine, blue hyacinth and ylang-ylang Base notes: amber, benzoin, labdanum, vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood, white honey and musk Ozbek along with vintage Poison and Vallee des Rois are part of my regular fragrance wardrobe.

I acquired a vintage of this in a lot by chance, where I was initially just drawn in for an entirely different scent (Teatro Alla Scala by Krizia) and this one was present. It is sweet, for sure; I personally didn't pick up too much spiciness on my skin, but it's not a cloying sweetness or a patronizing sweetness. It is well-rounded and I would say it's like a lovely bowl of fruits and crushed flowers, in the sunlight, drizzled over with a delicious earthy fresh honey, and you kind of roll around in it :) I swear I'm almost detecting pineapple, but I believe that's impossible; it's like the bowl was serving pineapple, it was all eaten, then without being rinsed, was filled back up with the other ingredients. If you want a something rich and sweet but slightly exotic and distinctive, with some individuality, this is a good choice. Love those 80's designers <3

I found this gem absolutely by chance on a Italian web site, sold for a song. I'm attracted by the singular bottle, resembling a minaret. I checked on Fragrantica and I'm very thrilled to get my hand on this rare fragrance. So I bought it. Weird fragrance, floral, sweet, honeyed at the same moment, terrible longevity. It seems to me to walk in a garden full of flowers. I think that there aren't fragrances similar to that, only Van Cleefe Van Cleefe is a bit similar, even if the notes are completely different. Proud owner of it, not for everybody. You have to appreciate flowers to like this unusual scent. But if you try it, you will experience a singular scent, and a bunch of flowers will surround you sweetly.

Went to an antique/yard sale type store in my hometown today just out exploring. Saw this edp 2.5 ounce for 5 dollars. Bought it because the bottle looked mystical to me and I was going to dump the perfume and use the bottle for holy water. I had never heard the name or brand before. Then I smelled it. Wow. Then I went online and saw the reviews and prices on eBay. It smells like garden of flowers in a far away land. Like a scent that would be pumped out at a sales presentation promoting a stepford wife lifestyle in Disney perfect neighborhood. Not saying that in a negative way. You feel pretty, attractive, clean and blessed to be in your shoes. Best deal I ever stumbled on.

Super strong fecal opening which I had to suppress the urge to wash off immediately. Then it becomes a beautiful, sweet and slightly spicy, fruity floral. Nice but not unique as I've smelled variations of this heavy sweet fruity floral in other perfumes before; most without that offending note in the beginning. That sort of put a damper on the whole experience for me. I'll use the mini on occasion until it's finished but I won't repurchase. There are just too many similar scents out there that I like just as much without the excessive indoles.

I discovered Ozbek years ago at Harvey Nichs in London and a year later, it was being sold at Barneys in NYC. It soon became my favorite fragrance and whenever, I wore it, I was sure to receive a compliment. Wearing this fragrance made me fee special. Then Ozbek was remade and the smell was entirely different and as a consequence, it was pulled off the market and subsequently discontinued. So disappointing. I have a few other favorite fragrances now, but no other fragrance has come close to this light, warm, clean and unique smell.

We call them Minaret where the caller (He calls muslims to mosque for daily praying) invites muslims salaat. It is beyond beautiful, so Blessed... Respect a little respect to Islam. We never comment about the Jewish or Christian chapels!

🙂 hyacinth and honey. some sexy jasmine for fun. if you like "exotic" perfumes, this may be for you. has a note of something "green", although i can't quite call it. another one that's not for everyone, but definitely holds it's own. a sophisticated, cool weather, evening scent. pretty in its own way. for the lady of "distinctive" tastes.
