Black Wood

This has oud wood opening, but thats about it. Not saying its bad. Oud wood is mysterious, dark, and sexy. This one has a fresh vibe. I bought a decant and since i liked it so much, i commit to a bottle. If OW is something i would wear at night time, during dinner date in a classy restaurant, this one is something i would wear to a movie night. It still is somewhat classy, not the kind one would wear with hoodie and jeans. Shirt, jeans, and oxford shoe? Perhaps. Great office scent. Sillage is monstrous but not overwhelming. This doesnt scream masculinity, but a gentleman. A polite gentleman that can be fun, but reserved. I like this. For now it is my signature scent on day time. But im still looking for something more in between this and oud wood.

This is very good. It is a dark, woody fragrance, but it also has a whisper of spice and some well-chosen lighter notes to balance it out. Overall, it's very smooth and masculine. I thought I was detecting oak, but I don't see it listed in the notes, so I must've imagined it. None of the notes were overpowering, and all the notes complimented each other, which means the balance was just about perfect. This is among the best fragrances I've tried recently, and I try quite a lot. I see some people comparing it Tom Ford, but I think I actually like this more than TF. This seems richer and more satisfying to me, but that's just personal preference.

this was amazing im so regret that my first purchase from this brand is iris ambbrette... because this is what im been looking for... its woody its mystirious its dark it kind of sweet and its good it the perfect fragrance for me from this brand i would say.... im enjoying this scent... it dosent have to much strong woody note like usualy woody perfume have its also project well mostly in cold and night weather it so nice with this black wood 10/10 fragrance 9/10 long lasting 10/10 smell good quality

P.s I haven't smelled TF oud wood They say it's similar but idk. Opens with very spicy cardamom with traces of oud. After 5 minutes, rosewood and sandalwood blends beautifully with the top and tones down the spiciness of cardamom. Super classy, mature and formal type of fragrance. Performance is a beast on this one. For cold weather only.

If you love woody, dark and mysterious fragrance, you must have it.. It's woody of course, spicy and smoky.. I get a bit Lalique Encre Noire "vibe" It has moderate projection which is good because the scent won't bother people around you.. Performance is above average.. about 6-8 hours.. A good release from Rirana house..

This reminds me of TF Oud Wood. Strong and prominent smell. I dont really like the opening thats harsh. But the drydown however is lovely going towards Oud Wood direction. Very lasting, moderate sillage and best for gentlemen.

Wowza! Definitely full bottle worthy! It is dark, Smoky, complex and rich smelling. It is not like other oud/wood fragrances I own. Very unisex. I agree there is a bit of mystery to it. Like an Enchanted Forest at midnight.

This is practically vintage Oud Wood, not like the reformulation. It's a lot woodier and creamier, not as spicy, with amped-up rosewood. It dries down into Al-Duhkan by Regime des Fleurs.

Feel strong and energetic oud. Longevity is good. Matured smell. overall, people who love woody smell must have it.

Got the sample and tried not to have any sort of biasness influencing me based on other people's common view that Black Wood (BW) is a distant cousin to Tom Ford's Oud Wood (OW). But they were right. The first sniff gave the same vibe of OW, but with an ointment sting (could be the cardamom), yet not too intrusive to the nostrils. The oud aroma stands out and dominates the opening for a while, until it mellows down after 10 minutes to a calming moderate woody scent. Would people be mistaken that BW is OW? Yes and no, depending on who & when it is worn (climate & ocassion, such as a black tie event). Is BW a good substitute for OW? Probably yes, because of its affordable price and fairly similar tone.

Surprised at how much I like this, I'd even consider getting a full bottle. It isn't loud or in your face but it's definitely there. A gently woodsy warm scent, the oud is very light on my skin and almost unnoticeable. This is blended really well.

Black Wood is one of my best woody perfume. Woody notes is too bold, and ofcourse if you fans of woody notes, you will like it!

Lower tone of oud for glory. Nice perfume but not my favorite. 7/10

On me this is mostly a oud and wood fragrance, that is completely unisex. The oud is slightly medicinal, but not overly....very similar to mastic resin. I also feel like a get a dark chocolate vibe even though that is not a note (perhaps some combo of the cardamom, amber, and tonka). This is very nice for cooler weather. I had to reapply after about 4 hours, and it sits rather close to the skin on me. I've not tried Oud Wood, so I can't make any comparisons to that fragrance. Overall, the performance on me was quite poor and it's not one I'd add ot my collection.

When i spray It first time, it is like hitting you in the face but in the soft and hard at the same time (not like an alcohol nor chemical-kicking smell). Sometimes it’s a mass-pleasing, sometimes it’s just okay. I never have a problem with the versatility (at least in my environment). Woody-warm-balsamic. Simple, lux, and gorgeous! I don’t get any powdery scent like on the list. Longevity is a beast. I have dry skin and i have problem with longevity with any fragrance, but this one is stay on my skin up to 12 hours (12++ indoor/night). Even after i take a bath i still can smell it on my skin, a very strong skin scent. I only get this performance only with an Attar. A night-type fragrance, but it’s still okay to wear it at day in the office. The only problem with this fragrance is it stay oily on the skin for about +-1 hour (depend on the room temperature and body heat). Maybe it’s because the concentration, 60%-70% essential oil. Blind buy never so satisfying like this before. Absolutely hidden gem!! When i first wear it, finally i found my signature scent

This is interesting... This opens up like my beautiful TF Oud Wood, but transforms into something different later on. I'm not sure I like it as much on the dry down phase, but perhaps more time with it will change my mind. If you're looking for a TF Oud Wood inspired fragrance...this may be your thing.

Starts off with a strong oud note. After that, blend of spices comes through, dominated with cardamom makes it a woody-spicy scent. I haven't tried TF oud wood but its very nice. Its balsamic, woody, a little sweet, mature, classy fragrance. Full bottle worthy. Lasting power is crazyyy!

Bold , gentleman and very straightforward... dark wood, hint of masculinity, dries down to more moderate woody scent, mature and best for office as it is not beastly.. for wood scent lovers, this is for you , longevity above average

Richer and deeper than the recent OG Oud Wood I tried....in fact it smells amazing. Long lasting. Will get a lot of run from me.
