Honor Royal

This fragrance has nothing to do with the pyramid above. The first time I've used it, it was just a splash of patchouli, green grass, and some lemon and apple in the first minute. No florals at all or anything else, no complexity - the color of the bottle sums it up perfectly. I don't find it feminine at all, unisex at best. It has very weak projection and moderate longevity of 5-6 hours. I gave it a few more shots, patchouli was still the dominant note, but maybe more balanced for the first few minutes. Overall, it's very weak (closer to EdT), but layerable. The only way I could save this, was to layer it with Reserve from Perry Ellis which is much more sweet floral (violet & rose) than the notes suggest (I cannot detect patchouli, marigold or chamomile in that one). So, the opposite of this. They complement each other quite well, RH giving a greener edge and Reserve adding the flowers. Both scents are linear, but Reserve has better longevity, so in the drydown you mostly get sweet floral notes. Still, I prefer the performance of this combo on paper, there is more complexity and better balance compared to skin, RH somehow makes ginger from Reserve more prominent and sparkling. Might work for those whose skin is not so sensitive to patchouli; on mine it often becomes really pungent or dirty earthy. If you're looking for an Aventus for Her dupe, you should try Secret scent from Al Ambra. This house produces fragrances of much higher quality and SS is an extrait de parfum concentration. It's more expensive than this one (although this is overpriced for what it is ;), i.e. not worth spending money), but sill much more affordable than OG. And samples are often available, depending on your geo-location.
