L'Eclat

This is actually my partner's signature perfume, got gifted by a friend last year and it sits on him so sexily. Deep, warm, woody, almost creamy from the mimosa and a quiet hum from the neroli. I get giddy when I get close to him, I'd say the sillage is quite intimate although when he walks past you get whiff, almost a tease. An absolute favourite on him! On me it's different, immediately reminds me of the comforting scent of those asian medicinal shops that always have incense burning somewhere close to the entrance. It was a smoky sandalwood, maybe hints of spices. Then after letting it sit and dry on my skin, it leaves a soft spiced, almost thick warm chai with sweetened milk. It's like taking a whiff on the top of foamy milk sprinkled with cinnamon. Very cozy! Will give it wear sometime and see how it interacts with me in public. (2023-08-25) Bought the 50ml bottle and compared it to the 15ml we got last year. Oh my goodness, the differences between the the two are apparent. Letting them sit for an hour and they smell pretty indistinguishable. The 15ml bottle has that slight coco cola sweetness with a sandalwood, mimosa and neuroli blended together into a warm creamy goodness on my nose. The 50ml bottle which is more floral and 'dry', spicy almost. Did they change the formula or did the 15ml one got to sit and marinate? Hmm hmm.. (2023-09-06)

This is my go-to woody fragrance that stood the test of time. It is easy to wear and comforting, simple but not booring. It does not have that WOW factor but I also cannot imagine getting sick of it. I choose this when I don't want anything too sweet, too complicated or too strong. Only down side is that this lasts only 2-3h but the travel bottle is easy to carry around. The star is definetly the sandalwood, which I find cool, as lately it is only used as a base or finish for other fragrances. Here it shines though. And together with mimosa it turns really cozy. The neroli I don't get much, maybe at the start. Also after several months there is no alchoholic opening at all, soft through and through. I'd say this is unisex but for soft and gentle souls.

This is sexy.... Warm enough for a winters day but I also think this will be beautiful in summer too. It’s Woodsy and caramelly and a hint of the same yellow flowers from CNo5 ... but also powdery and understated. Really love this. I can’t stand Oud but love unisex fragrance.. i can’t stand overly sweet but love the neroli.. This is a win for me. Side note; I love how it sprays! Rituals know how to create the perfect “Mist...” ... very luxurious and decadent. Like buying yourself a treat from Hotel Chocolat and some new lingerie .... Just to lounge around, home alone in! ;-)

This perfume smells is exactly like my ex-lover. This blind buy made me really happy. It is very feminine. I feel like I am looking at the pine forest through the dusty window of beach house on an abnormally hot day, and cuddling with someone who I love. It is warming me in winter. It it's making me more confident. Good that it also comes in 15 ml bottles.

For me this is a happy mood-lifting gem, suitable I think for all occasions. It turns out much more soft and airy than I thought from sniffing the bottle, the downside is the poor longevity. (Good thing it comes in a mini-size too!) The spray function is just right, bravo Rituals!! I experience scent in colours and for me this i sparkling yellow and gold.

This is the scent for every season, time, space and person. Unisex, smells pleasant, sensual, warm, comfortable, but also confident and can't be oversprayed as it's not too strong. Wore it so much that had to stop for awhile. Safe blind buy.

This perfume is my pride and joy. I love, wearing it cos no matter what, you always feel clean, expensive and cool with it on. Idk how to describe it, this perfume is my favourite. I might buy a bigger bottle next time I get paid ^^

If you could imagine a fresher Guerlain l'instant, this would be it. This passes off as simple but is a lil more than. Alone, this is timeless and hard to offend. Layered with more citrus & spice, this pops at an Arabian nose in a very right way. In a nutshell: l'instant but less intense and less sweet. Like it stripped down to its lounge wear ------- So, I went to buy this on Eid & they sold out. --- They must have reformulated this because it doesn't smell anywhere near as strong and if you're not looking, you could easily miss that the original scent is actually there ---- I currently own the 15 ml version. I don't know why the formulation jumps back & forth from its original and back. But because I was only able to afford the 15 ml bottle this Eid due to 3 years & ongoing cybersecurity issues that have even affected my B of A card it made me realize that once you download the official Mada payment app on your phone and even after you delete it, it works in the background. And because in Saudi your SIM is linked to your ID, it turns out that if a network of people have hacked all wifi payment systems or anything in sync with them, such as supermarket rewards or bank account transaction history, it not only makes every store effectively an Amazon go even if you are paying cash with prices changing in real time despite what is advertised, but it also means the same network of people or others with similar capabilities can take advantage of this to enter counterfeit products into the system within a matter of seconds with either a fake barcode or using an original label with its actual barcode on a fake product. The negative implications are endless. Before finally grasping what was going on, only yesterday, I thought the implications of my cybersecurity issues were limited to the counterfeit products that this network has replaced my Vitacost Nordic Naturals Omegas with in 2021. Now knowing better, it seems that the problem is as invasive as to jeopardize more than just that. Basically, seeing that it's a threat to every product, label, company on the market ( yes, this is an actual perfume review) I have to give this the benefit of doubt.

I love this perfume. It has an earthy-woody top note that stays with the dry down, but it’s not overpowering. I’m always on the hunt for sweet, warm and comforting scents that are well-rounded (not cloying, not too smoky or woody, and not too floral) and I love that I get the marriage of the scents together instead of hit over the head with any one and that seems to last with the dry down. I’ve been layering this with vanilla skin by phlur and getting comments infrequently! It does not last long which is a huge disappointment, but it does project and last a little longer when I layer it with another drag that projects/lasts more. And for some reason it bothers my skin, but I’m so committed to this scent I just wear it on my clothes. Would love for rituals to work on a formula for this scent with longer lasting power, I would definitely pay for it!

Luxurious scent, really woody and powery as the description says. Quite sophisticated, so if you're looking for a playful, kind of reckless vibe fragrance, this isn't that. However, a smell that won't offend many people and smells wealthy, yes: this is exactly that. I wouldn't recommend it to girls under 20 or so... I am 22 myself and I already feel like the only times I wanna rock this fragrance, is when I'm going to an event with mostly older people. (But l'Eclat is in no way an old-smelling scent!!). It is also perfectly unisex, and I think I would love to smell this on a man aswell!!! Minuses: the performance. Like many other rituals perfumes, it doesn't last very long. They need to figure this out, because it's such a pity and for this reason I won't purchase it again...

I was looking for a light, spring/summer perfume but for some reason ended up with this lol. With how Rituals is a body care brand first and everything second, the smell of their perfumes... checks out. This smells like an expensive day in the spa. Room aromatherapy while you're waiting for that well deserved massage. It makes me feel so peaceful and relaxed. It's pretty straightforward sandalwood on fabric but on skin, the powdery-ness of the mimosa really shined. Longevity on skin is abysmal, but I think come warmer weather, it won't be as weak. On clothes though, it lasts the whole work day and then some. I'm planning on wearing this for work anyways, so it's perfect.

Rituals need to figure out how to get better performance out of these frags, they have nailed the scent profile for something universal but refined but what's the point if you only smell it for a moment. I think people would be willing to pay more for a better product so hopefully they resolve this across all of their scents cause I have the same issue with the other two I have from them.

Woody, smooth, creamy, lovely dry down. Not necessarily exiting, but great for days when you don't feel like adding a whole lot to yourself. I usually prefer gourmand scents like L'interdit Rough or Lost Cherry, but I reach for this one whenever Im looking for that Sunday morning serenity

This is very nice. I get a woody and creamy mimosa with the neroli in the background. It smells really cozy. It’s really unisex but leaning a bit more feminine. It’s a safe but sensual fragrance.

It is powdery and woody, however the performance is tragic. This should be sold as a body spray, not as “EDP” - it has no staying power, even Victoria secret body sprays last longer than this. 15 minutes top and it’s gone.
