L'Essentiel

I am seriously taken by surprise. This is the first time I've found a perfume that is BOTH fresh/citrusy and manly/woody/musky. I had the same experience on my own skin as well as my boyfriends. My boyfriend has quite musky skin, so wood/musk-heavy fragrances don't often land well and end up overwhelmingly heavy. So if you experience some of the same and want that masculine woody notes without the headache, definitely recommend. ୨୧....୨୧ ....୨୧ Stats: Sillage, medium Longevity, nothing amazing as expected from rituals, 3h-5h. (for a Perfume) Price value is good imo, 60$ for 50ml Gender, more male Time, more night or winter/fall ୨୧....୨୧ ....୨୧ Overall: 8/10

I detect some citrus on top followed by cardamom and a semisweet wodiness drydown. Likeable, masculine scent, moderate projection and longevity. Could be a crowd pleaser, feels quite modern and will remind you of something else. Quality is actually better than some designer fragrances.

Wow I'm shocked this is rated so low! My husband got a bottle from someone and I find if stunning! Would definitely wear if myself as well. It's spicy, woody and has a slight fresh note to it. I really enjoy it, if it lasts, it might be FB worthy.

I actually really like it, it's just a nice moderate take on the shaving foam smell. I'm sure other brands do it better, but ticks all the boxes for me.

I am addicted to this fragrance! I adore the spicy blend of rich woody notes combined with the refreshing sensation it leaves behind.

Rituals being a Dutch brand, I got a 10ml bottle of L'essentiel together with a shower gel, shampoo and body lotion set from a couple of Dutch friends visiting me, having absolutely no idea that the brand also did perfumes, as I mainly saw it as a beauty product brand, rather than scents. The scent itself I'd say is a pretty safe and slightly 80s male leaning woody scent. It has a very masculine undertone that I think that people who are looking for a truly unisex or perhaps a "feminine" scent might get put off by, imagine the sharp masculine notes of a Lacoste aftershave in the late 80s and you know which elements I'm referring to. Those sharp notes fade away quite quickly though and leave us with a rather pleasant if in no way unique woodsy drydown. I don't see this becoming anyone's favourite scent of all time, but I do think that it's a very safe buy for anyone who you know are into perfumes.

No adventures here, but a damn good smelling fragrance, very smooth, neither weak/transparent nor bold/nauseating. I get the votes on Allure Homme but not to its Extreme Sport flanker. This is in the same vein of Allure Homme though fresher. Smooth citruses, vanilla, sandalwood, patchouli are my impressions. Creed has worse fragrances than this honestly in terms of value.

6.5 / 10 It’s a nice everyday masculine fragrance, it’s kind of a more sophisticated version of the more common fresh or sporty designer fragrances that you will probably own. It’s slightly more suited to colder weather though and it has a light intimate spa like quality which is consistent with the rituals brand

Very pleasant and likeable smell. It's Rituals so don't expect Xerjoff or Clive Christian type quality byt overall very nice. Good price point and just a very smooth sweet woody fragrance. I'd wear this, 8/10

This is a very smooth fragrance. The opening is citrusy, fresh, and in the drydown, you can smell some woody and fresh notes. Over time, it becomes smoother and has a touch of sweetness.

Great fragrance for winter. It's very aromatic and woody. Got it as a 15ml sample in a gift set. I wear it once in a while for a change.

Boring and weak scent. Got gifted this when it got released, and I didn't have any other fragrance at the time so I did go through my whole bottle. In the timespan of a year and half, got complimented for the smell once. I wouldn't say it's a bad smell, it was just weak on me and to be honest, for its price I don't find it justifiable.

Got this a while ago, and was really suprised to see its called a "warm spicy". Its more like a weak woody and slightly powdery. IMO: this fragrance lacks the elegancy needed for something this simple. Kinda boring. Sorry for bad english

Smells like Chanel Allure, before heavy reformulations. Slightly spicy, tart, definitely citrusy even though no citrus is mentioned. Does have a slight Coca Cola effect, because of the fizzy and spicy nature of the scent. Very solid for the price

I really like this perfume, it reminds me a lot of Guerlain's Epices Intense and could act as it's clone. The only downside to this perfume is the longevity and some work on the projection is also needed

The best quality and performance of a Chanel Allure homme clone that i have smelled so far👌 not 100% the same but at least 95% i would say. But the quality is there.

It reminds slightly of Allure Homme, but far from as good as.
