Palace d'Ambre

This is an unexpected gem! I tried it on in a Rituals store (it was on sale, because apparently it is getting discontinued). I did not know of the supposed notes, nor that it was marketed towards men. I don't smell much of the listed notes in the beginning. Instead, my experience is an expensive and elegant smelling ylang ylang fragrance! Maybe a touch of iris? And after a while some rosy and woody notes appear. There is a vanilla-like amber in the background, and it gets stronger as time passes. I would have guessed that this was something from Chanel or Guerlain, it is really sophisticated. I also think that it is somewhat similar to Agent Provocateur Maitresse, but Palace d'Ambre has better sillage and longevity.

I have to say i am hypnotised by this smell. From the moment i tried it on in a Rituals shop, it took me like 10 seconds to grab one of those 10ml bottles and buy it. It is just a beautiful smell. To me, it smells more like sandalwood but in a very sublime way, very soft and quite feminine, to be honest. Funny that it is marketed as a men perfume, my husband would never wear it but he loves to smell it on me. His first reaction when i told him what i was wearing was: "Wow, i really thought you were wearing something very expensive." Indeed,it smells very sophisticated. I think that Rituals perfumes should get more attention, they have some nice jewels in their collection.

Wear this and you will automatically smell wealthy. You will feel like royalty. Close your eyes and imagine being in a middle eastern palace. That's litteraly what you will feel. Performance is crazy. Beast mode projection and performance. Even after showering it was still lingering here and there.

For me its a little bit more female fragrance than male, but the longevity is incredible. I made one spray on clothes and it lasted 1.5 week and even after the clothes were washed. I tried 3 Rituals fragrances at same time on different parts of clothes and other 2 vanished after 2-3 days. Edit: It is really high quality smell with beast performance, but I gave it to my girlfriend it suits her better. I tried to use it from time to time, but it is too much feminine. When I smell it, it is pure female fragrance. I would recommend this one for our ladies, it is perfect for formal events when you are wearing dress.

This is a nice fragrance, but as a male I like to wear the female version Victoire D'Ambre. This is a fresher one than the womens version. The Ambre line is for now a limited edition. Sometimes they do return
