Seshen

Let's first take a moment to appreciate the efforts that Rituals makes for the bottle design. It is nothing groundbreaking though, the gradient colors of blue and yellow on the bottle which resembles a droplet is pleasing and elegant. When I read about it on their website, it reminds me of Soleil d'Or, another perfume from Rituals which also features lotus. I could not help but made a comparison, and I have to say, Seshen is more appealing to me. Soleil d'Or smells rich and "loud" to me, while Seshen is smooth and gentle. I am greeted by powdery white flower notes upon spraying, joined by some green notes, which smell like bamboo or banana leaves to me. Sweet melon makes its presence immediately, together with cardamon whose spiciness is well balanced by the sweet juicy melon. The opening captures an exotic sunlit garden with soothing summer breeze. By contrast, the opening of Soleil d'Or is more dominantly citrusy, much tarter; while Seshen appears softer and smoother. As it develops, the fresh soapy orange blossom gets the spot light, accompanied by lotus. It gets less powdery but more airy on my skin. It smells gentle as silk stroking your skin. The drydown is musky and woody, with gentle floral notes in the background, but fading to gentle skin scent. It captures the feeling of an exotic garden cooling down after a whole day of sunshine.

This is definitely a Frutiger Aero scent. Very aquatic, very fresh, very floral. Most prominent notes are jasmine, lotus and a vague "clean" scent. Unisex leaning feminine. It doesn't have the slightly weird note of the cosmetic products from this line. Would recommend.

Three months into 2026 and the first of two rituals limited editions has been released. This time, we are presented with the Ritual of Seshen. Inspired by ancient Egypt and the Nile, myself coming from the Middle East and also being an avid fan of Rituals, I had to get my nose on it. This perfume Opens very fresh, bergamot is extremely prominent in the opening backed by orange blossom, it has this cucumber/melon like sharpness to it. As it dries down, the orange blossom remains but the bergamot is replaced with the Egyptian Jasmine. Once fully dried down I can really feel the powdery essence of the white musk + the balsamic guaiac wood that has now succesfully integrated with my skin. The cardamom is barely perceptible to my nose throughout the performance of this perfume until I got to the dry down. Along with the white musk, the scent now transforms and becomes slightly slightly warm, in the most minimal sense (the cardamom is still very lowkey). That being said, it's extremely aromatic, as fresh as a scent can get. The marine vibes are strong with this one for sure and it has a soapy clean essence to it. If you're not familiar with the Frutiger Aero aesthetic then I want you to imagine blue skies without a cloud in sight, the sun standing strong in the middle of the sky. Picture perfect clean water, so clean that you could drink it without any health hazards. Crisp and unpolluted nature in its finest form, the ecological system in 100% harmony and pureness. Think of a place just like that. Now put all that came to your mind into a bottle. The warmth of the sun representing the cardamom and guaiac wood, daylight poured softly with a great glow, restrained on the heat - perfect temparature. The blue and clear water representing the white musk + marine & mineral notes, an occean inviting you to its cool bliss on a comfortable summer day. And the green undisturbed nature emitting the Bergamot, orange blossom and egyptian jasmine. Fresh citrus, white floral cleanliness, sweet summer nature. Longevity is approximately 7 hours, projection is good in the initial stages of the perfume but becomes slightly weak towards its final hours. Unisex perfume without a doubt. I don't usually comment on the bottle of the perfumes I review because they don't have any effect on the fragrance itself, but it's worth mentioning that the water drop shape of the perfume is supposedly inspired by drops of water from the nile.

As a young adult, I used the clinique light blue line, anti blemish solution. From memory, this smells exactly the same. Green, watery lotus and white flowers, slightly herbal. Mostly fresh, somewhat creamy. I'd get it as a room spray, it would make for a nice bathroom scent.

There’s definitely lotus flower in this one (said so on the package as well) and it shared quite a few similarities with Nomade Lumiere by Chloe.

I would never usually use the word hate when talking about a scent but this scent is so awful I can honestly say I hate it. Unlike anything I would ever expect from Rituals. The scent is so industrial and fake, like rotten mixed with toilet refreshener. I cannot even gift this to a friend as I don't want anyone smelling like this. In amazement how Rituals have let anything like this past their quality control. Such a shame, I was so excited about it and bought the perfume and body Milk online without sampling first. Please try a tester before you buy.

To me, the only similarities this has to Chloé Nomade Lumière d’Egypte are the water lotus and jasmine. Lumière d’Egypte has spices, flowers and a much rounder, more luxurious dry-down, while this one becomes far more citrus, herbal and mineral as it dries down and non of the creamy spices of Lumière. Lumière is my most worn for 2025 and I can definitely say that this is not a dupe. I still like it for what it is and I agree with the person who said that this has a pure frutiger aero vibe!
