Soleil d'Or

Aquatic and woody: 2 things I would generally associate with more masculine fragrances. However, since this is said to be more feminine to unisex, I gave it a try. The opening is overpowering, admittedly. It's heavy on the citrus. Cleaning product. Wet wipes. At best a citronella candle. Not as much pear as I hoped to find on my first impression. However, once it settles, it's gorgeous. It's ozonic. It smells like summer. Sunshine and beaches and it's warm but there's a cool breeze. It's not like Brighton (UK). More like Cannes (France). It's summery and elegant. It keeps its cool despite the heat. It's fresh and it brings me in a more positive mood. Yes, it is a woody fragrance. But it's framed by enough floral sweetness to overcome my masculine associations. And yet, the sweetness isn't powerful enough to make it exclusively feminine. Rituals' Soleil d'Or treads a fine line and does it wonderfully. I personally believe this to be Rituals' best fragrance. The longivity is pretty good. Unfortunately the projection isn't fantastic. Was it a safe blind buy? Maybe. It's a cheapie so that lowers the threshold. But the first notes might put you off completely. Give it a longer try on a hot summer's day. Would I buy this again? Full disclosure: I rarely buy fragrances again. And as a girlie who mostly enjoys jasmine, pear and green tea scents, I can't believe I say this but: yes, think I would buy this again, actually. It's that good.

The soapiest soap to ever soap!!! (complimentary) No but, genuinely, this is one of the best soapy/fresh linen perfumes I have ever smelled - it's clean and pleasantly musky, it's quite soft and cozy (yet not monotone thanks to the subtle woodsy notes), and it has this perfectly balanced sweetness that peeks through the fresh, aquatic notes... This might be the best shower+lotion+fresh laundry type of scent, it's so nicely blended it's insane! It feels so clean and fresh, yet also very comforting and hug-like at the same time. Honestly, it's amazing!!! The first few minutes after spraying can smell a bit sharp though, but worry not, it will mellow out soon enough! (I just wish it lasted longer, but with such a gentle fragrance it's not really surprising that it's not super strong performance wise)

This is an underrated scent among those with aquatic profiles. Is it groundbreaking? No. Is it super long lasting and seductive? Also no. This is a delicate beauty of a lotus flower with zesty freshness of bergamot and clean musk. This smells like having a pique-nique by the lake full of beautiful and fresh water flowers on a pleasant sunny day, and then suddenly soft rain starts falling, so that the watery and aquatic floral scent intensifies. I got 15ml out of rituals summer advent calendar and it made me buy 50ml bottle right after there was a promotion in Douglas. Just because it has a strong potential to become my summer signature scent!

honestly, my favourite perfume of all times! it’s absolutely divine, brings me very clean and “beachy” vibes - ideal for a hot day outside because the smell literally cools you down with its freshness. i can’t recommend it enough for people who want to be able to enjoy their own perfume throughout the day. no more asking yourself - “why can’t i smell my perfume anymore, i sprayed it on 2 hours ago?” the scent will linger and you’ll feel confident wearing it. Rituals have outdone themselves with Soleil d’Or, it’s their best one!

I love this scent, although wears like an eau de toilette, not long lasting or powerful. As someone who is especially into aquatic, floral fragrances (or anything with the word beach in) it's lovely when on the skin. The woody base notes are majorly over-ridden by the citrus and floral, but grounds the perfume so it's not too juvenile. But at the same price as beach walk and other stronger perfumes, I would recommend as a subtle, fresh scent with little to no sillage.

I love this :) This reminds me of Rock Star from Carner Barcelona. I much prefer this one because Rock Star has a overwhelming musk and marine note that I did not like. This has a aquatic, sweet and fresh opening and dries down to a very soft musk/cedarwood scent. This is perfect for hot weather, refreshing, but not sharp. It actually lasted on my skin for 9 hours and with a moderate sillage. I also got compliments :) Going to wear it alot this summer.

Smells lovely!! As described, it takes you to the tropical coast among the lively surroundings while you enjoy the ocean summer breeze like the most deserving vacation you ever had! The fragrance leans towards the feminine side with an inner youthness or/and sophistication that sparks with curiosity to explore the world! I only wished it had a greater longevity and sillage so even the sailor on the boat could experience this aroma with me by the port.

I really love this scent, it is fresh and elegant. Perfect for a summer morning. I wear it with a body cream from Rituals as well and it lasts all morning 🌞💛

This smells so similar like MAC Turquatic to me!! Just a bit more strong, citrusy, juicy. So lovely! Lots of lotus, soft, musky, aquatic... Love it! :o)

It is a sweet fragrance, a light and sunny kind of sweet, but it also has an almost watery freshness to it. Reminds me a bit of mint, though on closer inspection it probably comes from the citrus/lotus parts of it. I don't however detect a prominent, recognizable citrus, which I'd expect from the bergamot and mandarin. The freshness peeking through matches the warming but still crispy weather of spring perfectly in my opinion. In the heat of the summer it gets too cloying to my nose. It does have a rather good staying power, can still smell it the next day, and is also versatile. Which is good, though I wore it too much at one point, so I haven't reached for mine in a while now..

This is how a clean scent should feel like: balanced, soft, and quietly radiant. It has such a good balance of notes...not sharp or soapy, not heavy or sweet, just light on skin. Solar-like. Too bad it doesn’t last long, because I've truly never smelled anything like it! 🥲 For those who say it's similar to ADG, to my nose they're completely different, as Soleil D'or has a lightness to it that Aqua di Gioia simply doesn't have.

This perfume is very aquatic and refreshing. It is a pretty accurate depictions of how lotus flower smells. I have tested around 40 perfumes recently, and this is probably the first one which stays on my skin for longer than 6 hours. It’s not an intense scent, I can identify it maybe within 15-20 cm from my skin, but it lasts. Over 10 hours on average. I’m very impressed.

This fragrance is fresh and clean, perfect for anyone. It starts with a crisp, green scent—like snapping a flower stem. As it dries down, it becomes musky, woody, and aquatic, like sitting by a cypress tree near the sea. Simple, natural, and addictive. In my opinion it's more masculine but a great unisex fragrance, perfect for bothmale and female wear

Wore this almost every day when I had it. Suits so many occasions. The scent is very fresh and barely any sweetness peeks through , lotus fits in very well( I am very biased towards lotus notes). Also this lasts way longer than you would think, if you spray it on your clothes it will pretty much stay there until you wash them.

It opened beautifully on my skin. Straight away I could smell the freshness and aquatic qualities of this perfume. For me it evokes the feeling of swimming in crisp lake water on a summer day. However, it really didn't last very long even after using hydrating lotion before applying.

I've come to like this fragrance a lot - it smells very uplifting and fresh. I love lotus, and I think it's very noticable in this fragrance. It's a perfect everyday scent if you don't want something offensive at all or just wanna smell clean and flowery.

A really lovely scent, it's very bright and I think it suits the bottle colour quite well. It's pretty weak though. Bought the travel size, still in doubt whether I'll buy a full size one when this is finished. But I do really like the scent.

it’s a beach smell, or for holidays. I can’t imagine it anywhere else, to be honest. Unless in the office, if you just came back from your vacation, and want to maintain that mood for a little while. I think some suncreens smell like this

This smells beautiful! It’s the perfect summer scent and smells classy to me. However, it is basically a skin scent and has very little projection. If the designers improved this then I would buy it again.

Smells like those moist towlettes you're given on overnight flights. Lightly citrusy, but it is mostly ozonic and sterile, almost bleachy. My only gripe is how quickly it fades.
