Victoire d’Ambre

The SA from Rituals turned me on to this scent, and as it’s being discontinued, he had to bring it up from the stockroom. I instantly fell in love with it, and made a beeline back to the store a few days later to buy them out of the remaining two bottles. Sweet, ambery, warm and spicy...I agree it smells like there is vanilla in the formulation. I love the Rituals perfumes, they smell expensive but are very reasonably priced. My boyfriend, the perfume-hater, loves this one. I just wish it lasted longer.

Super yummy - smells like spicy chocolate. This perfume is simply unbelievable. I get about 18 hours from one spray on the neck. I can't believe the prices they are asking for it, i paid 7.99 for this at TJ Maxx 2 years ago. I also got Oasis de Fleurs and Voyage en Inde. I honestly can not say which out of these three is better or lasts longer. I keep wondering about the rest of the Rituals line, but they are very hard to find in USA.

Most people who've smelt this on me thought it was vanilla and I have to agree, it could be easily thought to be just that. In truth, though, it's a wonderful, deep amber, a scent bomb and it's delicious. Definitely female in my opinion - sweet, musky - it surrounds you in a warm cloud of happiness. It's also very good to mix with other perfumes, if you want to add a little more impact to them.

Can be seen imo as a unisex fragrance. Sweet amber and a little musky. It is supposed to be a limited Edition. Worn this to work got a instant compliment from my female co-worker next to me. The next time I wore it too.. Lasts a long time, but the oils can give some stain on a white shirt. Very good, got me a full 50 ml bottle. Like this more then the men's version Palace D'Ambre.

since this is very difficult to get a hold of now, I recently discovered that phlur’s vanilla skin smells very familiar to this. maybe a bit more sweet and more caramel-y as i remember this one being quite sharp, but the base smell of vanilla skin was VERY reminiscent of this perfume !

A smooth elemi hug that doesn't last unfortunately, but you enjoy it while it caresses you warmly. Totally unisex IMHO

One of the few perfumes that get me compliments. Victoire d'ambre and Hypnotic poison.

Lovely warm and musky, it wraps you with sweet spice, not too long lasting though...

I like it but prefer men version palace d ambre due to a peppery scent to it. Not lasting, 2-3h max. Nice warm, comforting scent. Sweet amber - almost vanilla like...

I've bought it today, I tested it few weeks ago and I love it. It looks like Bois d'iris by Van Cleef & Arpels but more balmy and spicy. Sadly it's discontinued...

It's like a cross between vanilla extract and candy corn. Sorry, but I really don't like this, as it's way too sweet and gourmand for my taste. Very potent, strong and long lasting but not overly expensive smelling. Kind of an odd duck, which usually interests me in fragrances, but not time. Thumbs down for me.

This is a "nice" scent.amber/elemi/resins...and soft smooth muskiness. I find it a simple blend,but sometimes the more simple something is makes it a pleasure. IMO,it is not long-lasting at all...turns into a skin scent rather quickly...however....this is OK by me. Got the full size bottle today at TJ MAXX for under $20 on clearence...so it was a worthy buy. Even tho a skin scent, it does "linger" in a soft cloud on my skin.

Totally unisex, cold season frag. I sense some tonka sweetness that is not listed in the pyramid. Quite long lasting and totally not linear. It opens with a soft caramel that beautifully sits on your skin to reveal more gourmand notes of tonka and musk. Not in your face sweet, but sweet however. Good value for the money.

Agree with @ginepro, I have very dry skin, and very sweet notes come off of this for me. Weaker sillage, in the morning I probably apply 5-6 sprays on pulse points, and I feel like it is gone by lunch. Overall, a nice scent. I normally detest vanilla, but I still enjoy this one very much.

I wear it every day, day and night, but i think is better for the night, cause its a warm scent. Sweet and oriental, best combination ever, you feel like you are the queen of some oriental place, you feel unique cause no lots of women are wearing it. My husband says its stunning.

Sweet, warm and fluffy amber scent with lots of vanilla in the base (even though it doesn't say so in the note pyramide - i'm sure of it!). Wears pleasantly and close to the skin, good everyday scent for winter and won't take over a whole room.

This is natural amber not synthetic... very interesting - it's not an emotional scent but an "intellectual" scent. If you appreciate the amber you will love it. Much cheaper than Tom Ford. I'm sure this would smell amazing on a man too.
