Neon

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FRAGRANCE. IT'S DIFFERENT. I ADORE THE HELIOTROPE AND NUTMEG MIXTURE. GET THE CINNAMON AND VANILLA TOO. IRIS IS SUBTLE AT BEST AND THE WOODYNESS IS UNDERSTATED. FUN AND A LITTLE FUNKY BUT NOT BIZARRE. I AM FEMALE BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE LOVELY ON A MAN.

I recently bought this in Liberty the other day and it smells phenomenal on my skin! the vanilla and the other ingredients blend well together and it lasts the whole day.

Of the two Roads scents I tried today, Neon is the clear winner. After the underwhelming aquatic rose of Digital Daze, Neon is a superior scent, as well as being much more to my taste. A cosy, powdery scent with gourmand tendencies, it isn't aptly named in my opinion, but it is so pleasant that it doesn't matter. Neon is vanilla-dominant, but features a dry, powdery, papery vanilla, present from initial spray. Soft, warm spices round it out beautifully. As it develops, the heliotrope adds a gentle, hazy almond-like quality to this scent, which, alongside the vanilla note, brings it to gourmand territory. The spices are pitch-perfect. I don't get iris in particular, but there is a blurry powderiness here. It becomes softly woody and musky as it dries down, but the vanilla-heliotrope remains. It fades to a powdery vanilla skin scent with a hint of musk. Sillage and longevity are moderate. A pleasant, powdery vanilla scent with warm spices, Neon is a cold weather scent that is unisex despite its soft sweetness. I too wish that it had better performance, but nicely-crafted overall. 3.5/5.

Neon light in a bottle Quite adept name for the fragrance. All sorts of colours dazzle and sharp rays of light linger in the first half hour. Beautiful and unorthodox frag for a niche perfume but on the flip side it can appear cheap and teenage-ish if you didn't know the brand. In terms of the initial jolt one gets, it is similar to the vibe created by Made in Heaven by A Lab on Fire but MIH is far superior in it's layers, depth longevity, attractiveness and silage. After 2 hours, this one turns into a skin scent with a subtle but beautiful vanillic note. Good fragrance to break the monotone nature of serious perfumes in the wardrobe. I would still recommend this. I would request Roads to make their perfumes more longer lasting.
