Spring season is near ahead of us so I want to share with you a very special one for this particular months. VALOUR is a scent that sets you in holiday vacation mood and setting. A perfect one to wear on vacation or when you need to step back from the routines, feel ease and slow down. It transports the wearer to a very nice outdoor lawnyard in daylight with few big trees that shade you from the sun. Soft whispering wind occasionally blowing give a perfect touch to the cozy atmosphere. At this moment it will best just to have the time for yourself and unwind. Sitting or laying at the ground to find comfort one with the mother nature. This fragrance is very airy yet has enough presence to be noticeable. Although it is composed from heavy notes I don't find any particular one distinctive to the nose. Mild aromatic spicy sage infused with a whiff of coffee and a very bright amber creates this vivid scenery in my mind. It will most likely suit the people who enjoy non intrusive scent with light ambery touch and also love coffee smell without the intention of wearing gourmand. People who loves Ambre Précieux from Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier and Givenchy PLAY Homme will definitely love it since it almost comes across like the combination of both. Robert Graham Valour is a classy release, alongside two others from the house, from 2016, an easygoing yet interesting mix of clary sage, coffee, and amber. A little sweet, a little dirty, a little woody. Not too heavy, not too light. It has the vibe of both an everyday scent (for, say, all but the hottest weather) as well as something dressed up and special, and in that respect, it’s highly versatile as a targeted men’s option, though frankly it’s not stereotypically masculine, but rather just more mature-leaning, so I think anyone could wear this. It’s not groundbreaking but has that balance between being comfortably familiar and being intriguing to the point of wanting to continue smelling it. And it performs well overall, not with much projection but good longevity. I was fortunate to find a 100ml bottle at Marshalls a little over a year ago that I bought blind for $30, but the retail on this is still $90 (for final sale) on the Robert Graham website, so from that, I take that it’s been discontinued. It’s priced even higher on some secondary markets, it seems. At $30 it’s a steal, but it’s useful enough that the retail cost is reasonable, as well. There is also a decanter size on the website, $198 for 250ml, also on final sale. 8 out of 10

Updating my previous review a year later as my partner just got this out again for fall and this is still so nice! Super comforting and cozy. Lifespan may not be THE longest, but it doesn’t really go on a journey throughout the wear either (just gets less strong) so reapplying is uncomplicated. This is straightforward but not in a boring way, it’s very good at what it is, it just isn’t doing different things as you wear it - no notes emerging or receding, no plot twists or surprises. Just reliable and well balanced/blended. For the same reason, layering is definitely an option too. My partner has taken to layering this with Commodity’s Vetiver, and it’s quite a nice combo. Both fragrances are well blended and have this creamy, lactonic, balmy quality so they compliment each other extremely well.

What an amazing fragrance.now this is gourmand coffee fragrance. Its elegant seductive and unique. I have smelled a lot of coffee fragrances but this one beats them all. Its not a potent strong coffee scent but just right balance of it. The combination of amber and sage are awesome. It is very safe to wear because its not too strong to the nose. Wow awesome fragrance. This could be a signature scent a date scent or night out scent. Not too sweet. Everything in this fragrance is well balanced. This probably the best fragrance I've smelled in 2018. This fragrance resemble to tom ford noir extreme, dior homme intense la nuit de lhomme valentino uomo intense.you know that seductive sexy night out scent. Great on winter and cool breezy weather.

This is a favorite of mine. The scent lasts about 8 hours for me, but doesn't project a lot after the first hour or so. I find that it becomes less sweet with time as the amber fades, pushing the coffee and sage to the front. I think I saw someone compare this combination to cigarette tobacco. I can see why someone might make that association, but to my nose it is a very masculine contrast to the sweet amber. Perfect for fall and winter or cool evenings in the spring. This is a great scent for intimate settings. @Rob321x I think that people might have assumed that the scent was discontinued because bottles began to pop up at Marshals style stores.

This is an outstanding fragrance. I really wish this lasted and projected even more than it does already so everyone in a mile radius could enjoy its beauty. That said, it does last fair 6-7 hours and it does project fairly well. People near you will smell you. Now, this is definitely masculine but easily could work on a woman too. It’s somewhat sweet with coffee and Amber beautifully combined making this a well blended gorgeousness. Glad I bought it, wish I just bought the 250ml bottle instead of 100ml.

Such a beautiful autumn scent... Starts with gourmand coffee - slightly sweet, almost chocolatey, but not quite dark. As that backs away, it allows the note that's most prominent to me to shine - palo santo. I know it's not listed here on Fragrantica, but it is on the Robert Graham website. The spicy-woody palo santo/guaiac is smoothed out with some remaining coffee along with a bit of amber. It lasts a long time on me, even being able to detect it on my shirt and my skin 10-12 hours later.

This is good stuff !! Ambery, woody, slightly coffee oriental fragrance. I'd say it is unique but still very likable. Nothing harsh, notes are well rounded, nothing jumps out. It is on the sweet side but not sickly sweet vanilla or Tonka as other generic fragrances, that's been said: it is appropriate year round, but with caution in the summer, maby summer nights only. 9/10 I wish longevity and projection were better. I heared it is discontinued, catch it while still in good price.

This one is actually really nice! Smells more niche then designer despite having a very simple composition. I could picture layering this with Fortitude. Overall I get a wonderful coffee opening with the sage. Then the woods and amber round out the base to give off a warm spicy scent that is slightly sweet but still dry enough that it is not cloying. Very decent projection and longevity. Excellent quality and very nice looking bottles! Glad to see such good designer releases!

Manly and confident, great coffee note for about first three hours. Then the sage (sweet) note takes over midway through the scent's existence. That might turn some people off, a bit too sweet for me. Then the drydown mellows out towards the end but it isn't weak, still projects. I love the strong coffee in the beginning but kinda put off by the way it dies down and becomes sweet. If you wait it out it then presents itself as a respectable aroma.

Absolutely love this one, honestly i think it has niche quality. It was a blind buy gem, caught it a tj maxx for like 32 bucs. Definitely has more than the 3 notes listed, i totally get the amber and sage in the opening but to my nose I get leather and smoke in the dry down if it is coffe its a dark cacao type. Would love to try the other two from the line, but not willing to pay retail tho

I love it on me long lasting with about arms length projection for about 2 hrs..very pleasant relaxing smell..although I say arms length projection in truth it could go a lot further..I let my son wear a lot of my fragrances and it gives me more of a idea of 1 how far it may project and 2 sometimes a fragrance can take on a lil different smell in the air..love it .

This is a stunning masculine amber with a gorgeous sweet opening, an equally amazing effervescent wear, and a beautifully well-blended, warm amber and coffee dry down. This is a wonderfully unique fragrance that stands out from anything else in my wardrobe. Easily the stand out perfume from this first trio of releases. Well worth the money.

A girl came up to me on the subway and asked what I was wearing. I paused for a while and wondered what she was talking about (dumbfounded.) Then I realized that she was asking about my scent of the day. I told her, she wrote it down and told me she'll be looking for to buy this for her boyfriend. I guess I'll take it as a compliment..

This almost smells like a more "grown-up" version of Ferragamo Uomo. It's less of a gourmand but still sweet, thanks to the amber note, and you can pick up the coffee on the dry down. It's pleasant and quite unique, and the performance is adequate without being overpowering. You could probably wear this just about any time.

This smells 2-3x more expensive than Robert Graham's courage. There are definitely more notes than the 3 listed here - i get guaiac wood perhaps? Really reminds me of a less boozy Memoirs of a Tresspasser from Imaginary Authors (in fact I think these could be a nice layering pair). Definitely feels "niche"

this feels like a bright ambery coffee scent. it's not heavy - which you may expect from the notes of amber and coffee. it's lighter than many scents with a similar note breakdown. very easy to wear - for any situation. with a current price tag in the mid $40's, this is an easy blind buy. 6/10

All 3 from Robert Graham just DRIP pure masculine class. I don't even know what order I would rank them in, they're all in 1st place. Longevity is great in all of them and sillage is low-medium which is absolutely perfect for a sexy blend such as these!

Smells as if Halston Amber Man and Bvlgari Black had a love child. A very nice amber that mellows to a powder. Classy and expensive smelling. definitely for cooler weather, but not heavy. Good longevity average sillage. Nice.

People selling these fragrances on eBay and Amazon should be banned lol. All trying to sell this fragrance for 200$ For a 3.4oz saying it’s discontinued. It is not. It is always in stock on Robert Grahams website for 90$.

Great frag if you're looking to capture the memories of long discontinued gems like Play Intense and Pure Coffee. Shame it too has been discontinued, and was greatly ignored when it was with us.

For the past year all I have seen On here were people saying this is discontinued, yet it’s still been available everywhere and on Robert Graham’s site, where are you guys getting this info?

Smells great. It's unique and I think this can be worn year round. It has minimal projection and you will need lots of sprays, but for under $70 I think it's worth it.

This give me a tobacco vide after about 3 to 4 hours. I don't see it in the notes, but it must be the amber and the coffee creating this accord.

A light coffee as you hike through the dawning autumn mountains. Tom Watson from The Girl on the Train wears this.

There's a traditional, successful and classy vibe to this one. The ambers and coffee are blended really well and nicely offset by the slight herbal element and bitterness at the base. The sweetness is perfect. This is the most gourmand fragrance I've ever enjoyed. It has a transparency to it like smelling the air in a coffeeshop only making cappuccinos with bitter cocoa and toffee. There are probably hundreds of perfumes that smell similar but to me this hits that sweet spot and feels just right; any man could wear this - although I'd say it leans mid to late 20's up. It's not a boy's fragrance. I'd love to smell this inside a leather jacket.. it has sexiness to it. Edit: Posted this what...4 hours ago? And now Valour's dry down is starting to remind me of Amouage Interlude Woman; a bit too sweet, a bit too sour, a bit leathery and cloying and confused. Who knows, this might just be my skin. There seems to be a leather/incense note in the base that is creating a heaviness once the top notes have dried down, almost as if there were aldehydes that burned off. Still, I don't hate it, but, I miss the freshness of the top notes, and I am not a fan of Interlude.

This is a good subjective fragrance, meaning, a friend of mine loves it, you get compliments from it, I personally wear it and think, It's a nice masculine, fall time office fragrance. A nice, amber, spicy fragrance that is inoffensive and would be a good gift for the mature crowd for sure. I'm in agreement with many reviews before me in that, it does give you that fall time, leaves falling around you feel. A good placement if you find it at a good price, then again, considering the size of the bottle for the price, I don't think you can go wrong with picking up a bottle in general. But again, it's nothing so unique, it will smell familiar, which can be good or bad depending on your perspective.

I've worn this a few times. Coffee, ambroxan, herbal notes (sage) dominate. It's an interesting, if not totally successful, blend. It's spicy and a bit loud to start. It feels sort of classy but it's definitely trying to be "modern" with the ambroxan note, not the traditional "amber" listed above (think Sauvage amber note and not Ambre Nuit). It certainly lets it last longer, too. Longevity is moderate (4-6 hours) with it being a skin scent in about an hour. A 6.5/10 for me. It's unique but mostly goes unnoticed and is best suited for the cooler weather at night. Maybe a decent date scent in a more casual setting.

I have the three of this brand . This one is Overhyped IMO. The coffee is barely detected. Sweet amber beside some spices. A bit nondescript and similar to the base in most of designer fragrances in the 2000s era. However the tiktoker and the reviewer in addition to the rarity of it make it something wow and gave it this fame and hype. If it’s so common fragrance and popular or on the discounters it will probably be overlooked. However I prefer Fortitude over this one, the third one the summer freshy Courage is a big meh, I gave my bottle to a friend.

The scent itself is nice and I almost kept it but due to longevity and projection it got the boot. Is there a law against making fragrances last more than a couple hours. I need a solid work day out of mine without reapplying. Is that too much to ask for. Sample sample and sample again so you don’t waste your money like I have done so many times.

This one opens up with a delicious gourmand coffee note and lively D&G The One type of amber that dries down to a coffeeless, dry amber much like a lighter, more wearable version of Halston Man Amber. On a side note, the bottle screams elegance. Well worth the $30 if you're lucky enough to find a bottle at TJ Maxx.

For the price at Marshall’s, not bad at all. Opens with a fresh green vibe of the sage. The dry down brings forth the coffee and amber. Longevity and projection are average at best. Overall, worth a try...particularly if you are a fan of coffee and amber.

Wore it today and someone said I smell like luxury? I’ll take the complement I guess.

Beautiful coffee fragrance long lasting and decent projection

Downsizing my collection - giving a quick review of the fragrances I just let go before I forget them. Valour This actually smells of high quality - rich but not stuffy. I would have kept it if not for a certain "static" or "fuzzy" characteristic that annoys my nose at a certain point. Other than that, if you're looking for a coffee-dominant fragrance - you can't find many designer scents better than this. 8.5/10 Main highlight for me = once sprayed, your nose will immediately recognize a realistic coffee aroma; then this wall of warm fuzziness that has a slight greenness backs it up YT channel - The Scentrovert

Eh, this reminds me as being very similar to Valentino Uomo, but flatter and maybe not as good, but not as sweet either. The clary sage here is also similar to the herbal note in VU, but again, I think I like that one better. I feel like I would describe it as an herbal light amber with just the dry, slightly toastiness of coffee but I dont really pick up a traditional coffee smell here either. Not bad by any means, but I dont feel its incredibly original either. I would swap my bottle.

A fairly loud start with an anise like scent and some booziness along with herbal sage and plenty of amber. The mid starts within 10 minutes and then it has an astringent smokey woodiness, probably coming from santo palo wood, along with some sage and a light but faint toasty note of coffee but it’s not really prominent. Drydown is mostly santo palo wood and a little sage and is very dry. I wish the dry down had that opening magic but all that is pretty much gone late in the dry down of this one. I really don’t care for the dry down at all. On a positive note, it is one beautifully designed bottle though and actually one of the most elegant I’ve seen. And the patterned travel sprays with brass container, which have a magnetic cap, are also pretty snazzy.

Unfortunately this gives me an awful headache, much like Guerlain Ideal does, a perfume Valour has alot of similarities to. The opening coffee note is great but this gets sweet fast. Whatever aromachemical this uses to simulate the big glob of sweet amber at the center of this is also used in Ideal. Gourmand lovers may very well love this as long as they don't have the sensitivity to it that I have. It's beast mode too.

A tremendously underrated woody coffee sweet scent, like the best aspects of Bond No.9 New Haarlem (aka Michael Jordan Legend) and the now-discontinued Givenchy Play Intense, mixed with a small bit of Margiela's By the Fireplace. This fragrance is also a great example of how iso-e-super can be used properly as a fixative in the base, without making the whole thing smell like a chemical mess. You can clearly detect it wafting in and out of your olfactory consciousness, but it mainly serves to deepen and extend those lovely coffee notes, lending them a crisp airy woody aspect. Projection is moderate but longevity is outstanding on my skin, 8-10h. More of a cozy scent, better for colder fall/winter weather but fresh enough to pull off in spring as well if needed. Too heavy for summer though IMO. And just to clear this up once and for all, this fragrance is NOT discontinued. Period, end of story. I just purchased this one week ago directly from the Robert Graham USA website. Don't waste your money paying exorbitant prices on auction websites.

Last week while in Vegas I walked into a Robert Graham store to pick up some $100 swim shorts and noticed the three fragrances they have. I tried Courage, it smelled good, very likeable but generic mainstream scent, then I smelled the other two: Fortitude and Valour. Those are wow! Valour was a big wow! I ended up buying both bottles. My wife liked Courage the most and she bought me that bottle as my Father's Day gift. For Valour, I have no idea what other fragrance this smells like, it seems to be very unique. I can't even pin point the coffee in this, it just smells great though...Reading and watching reviews of people finding these at discount stores for $30 makes me want to hunt these down and buy all of them for myself to build a lifetime supply. I paid $90 for 100ml that comes with a 10ml travel bottle that also comes with a metal cylinder case, its pretty cool. I'm probably going to buy the big 250ml bottle of Valour and Fortitude...

Valour is an exceptional fragrance. It comes off very aromatic at first with heavy sage. Amber in the background lends sweetness and also a heaviness to the scent, while coffee, also very apparent, lends a slight earthiness. It feels artisanal, like a freshly opened bag of gourmet beans. These three accords come together to create a harmony that could best be described as confident. I feel successful and masculine with this scent cloud around me to the point that it’s almost Arthurian. Sage strikes me as the main accord as it outlasts the coffee and most of the amber through the dry down. It provides an almost cooling sensation. It’s masculine, but not in an aggressive way. Again, quiet confidence with an amber-y touch of honey remaining to be inviting. I dig it. Opens like The Man in the Arena, full of grit and determination and closes smelling like the triumph of high achievement.

I received it an hour ago in mail. Since I sprayed on my wrist, it has smelled like pain relief cream. Man, I need to respray in a couple of days. It's too early to make a final judgement, but it stinks. Updates I let the bottle sit on my table for several days to make the chemical compositions of the juice stabilized. Then, I wasted 5-6 sprays in the air and tested on my arms. It got better than the first try. However, I still smell Bengay from it. 20-30 minutes in, it is like a full of dusts and Bengay. 4-5 hours later, everything is gone, except a very weak hint of sweetness. I had to put my nose on the spot to detect it. If someone strongly argued with me this was coffee, then I would give him that. But he is not gonna change my mind that this cologne is a total waste of money. Try before buy it, which I forgot this time.

Probably one of the most unique, exotic and nice smelling modern fragrances. I marked endymion as a comparison for the smooth coffee and sweet tonka backbone, but marked sexual for the rich and smokey musky accord going on here. Its fresh yet exotic at the same time. Its spicy, but spicy sweet--from things like coriander and cardamom, vs. pepper. It's relatively simple otherwise, with no floral, herb or wood notes. There is exactly or even close to it. Very original, very intoxicating. Fairly linear. Lasts all day, projection, after the first hour is very polite though.

This is a bit of a mixed blessing for me. I absolutely love how this smells. It is very clean and sophisticated; it is dry and a bit herbaceous. And, while I tend to like sweeter scents in the winter time, this is a nice change of pace. Unfortunately, I don't get much longevity or projection with this one. It does not change the fact that I feel that it is a great scent, and I absolutely recommend it to everyone. This is absolutely beautiful, and while it is marketed to men, I decided to give it a shot for myself and I am certainly glad that I did.

Unfortunately I also react to this fragrance. When I put more than two sprays, it makes me sneeze. I am not usually sensitive to any of the listed ingredients and enjoy a number of other similar fragrances so I think it's due to something in this fragrance. I do not like to leave a negative review because I do like it enormously, but I find there is no other simple venue to report a potential reaction. Lastly, it behooves Robert Graham to investigate and make changes so that it can continue to be sold and enjoyed by fans like myself.

Not sure how old my bottle is but I get very solid projection out of it for at least a couple of hours before it starts dialing back. Longevity isn't bad either. Scent is a bit generic, sure, but it does just smell nice. Not a ton of coffee present but it's there behind the warm ambery scent if you look for it. Solid one for the right price. Edit: Lasted as a skin scent through my 12 hour shift!

First impressions: Freshly brewed coffee sprinkled with cinnamon and a bright amber. I got a sample at the Robert Graham store. This was clearly the best scent of the 3 offerings. A multipurpose, everyday style scent with enough intrigue to remain handsome. Would thrive the most during spring and fall. Primarily a fragrance centered around blue shower gel, smooth designer amber, and an aromatic coffee note that stands in for vetiver. There is a gourmand creaminess underneath it all, with subtle nuances of something like candied pecan. 8.0/10
