Oud Délice

Robert Piguet’s Oud Délice is a masterfully orchestrated composition, where honey and oud are entwined in a luminous accord that feels both opulent and refined. The fragrance opens with a resinous heart where honey glazes a polished oud, softened by amber, benzoin, and creamy vanilla over shadowed woods. It radiates warmth without becoming cloying, and the oud’s darkness is tamed into elegance rather than force. This is quite simply a stunning perfume and another massive hit from the house of Robert Piguet. The opening is similar to many ultra woody, slightly dank but massively faceted oud creations and if that's what you think you're going to get, that would be just fine by the way. Okay so where's the delice part? You have to be patient to be rewarded especially with the deceptive opening, not expecting to be struck by a gorgeous gourmand nature. Resinous, sweet, earthy but delicate all the while, gets my vote for sure.

A gentle, caramel-like Oud that I personally had never smelled. Oud delice opens with sweet, lightly honeyed and amber notes that will accompany a woody and absolutely not animalic Oud for the entire evolution, making it fresh, graceful, not opulent. One of those fragrances that surprise and are different, giving uniqueness to the person who wears it. And I will tell you: one of those few fragrances with Oud as the protagonist that I would probably love to wear. "Ambiguity " painted by Attanasio Soldati.

Oud and amber with patchouli. More patchouli than oud, in my opinion. Sweet, but with a tangy undertone, and more vetiver as it dries down. I find it similar to Serge Lutens Chergui, but without the tobacco notes. Hugely powerful, sillage and projection are massive and it stays strong for a long time. My only other experience with Robert Piguet is a vintage sample of Bandit which I absolutely adore, and whilst I don't love this quite as much I do still really really like it.

I find this a lovely and youthful scent of honey, that makes me think of a pasture filled with flowers that are buzzing with polen-carrying bees. Sweet but not too sweet, with a tinge of vanilla and a powdery aftertaste that is more difficult to identify precisely. Perhaps a dream of soft leather and some far-away spices on a bed of agarwood...

Love the opening with honey amber and oud. After 30 to 45 minutes the patchouli with a hint of vetiver is more apparent, the amber and honey last for several hours. Projection and silage is very descent. I really like it. Well done

A seductive and mysterious fragrance.

It’s a successful scent, oud with coconut or something similar, reminds me a bit of Coeur de Noir, like they made a Colonia version or something. Not too far from Zazen either, as it also has a milky note and approaches a kind of dessert scent, but Zazen is a bit more subdued and straightforward, while Delice has a slightly darker tone — yes, Zazen is like limestone, Delice has more of a marble quality. I probably took that coconut from the fig, but it should also be noted that this clearly heads toward the candy-like direction of something like Sergio Tacchini.

Oscillates between delicious warm soft oud and odd cherry cough drop then back to yummy patchouli woody oud and sharp sweet honey with patchouli, patchouli... patchouli .... Oscillate between like and dislike. And that is what I like: it is interesting, rather than beautiful. And interesting often wins. Mr Cornelis below has a point - it is a patchouli-based cologne. That's not a bad thing.

Thanks to this perfume I will start to love oud note. So well blended with the fig note, fruity, not heavy, easily wearable. Ill test it more. Edit: longevity and aura are strong. Be careful with the number of sprays. Edit 1.0: after wearing for a week, oud started to smell like poop... not for me.

High hopes dashed again - this left me smelling like an old ashtray and no honey note whatsoever even at first spray. And man it stays around I've tried washing it off and using rubbing alcohol and it's still hanging on and making me nauseous.

I've never been a fan of oud nor amber, nonetheless I found this one heavenly! I should add up that I love honey, vetiver and the right amount of patchouli. So, that's it! After trying so many perfumes by RP, I realized that this one is my favorite (Visa 2007) being a close competitive. Oud delice is woody, gourmand, sensual and in my opinion feminine. It reminds me of sensuous, So I can hardly imagine it on a man, even though to be more precise it would not bother me. I thought I smelt something fruity too, not the kind of citrus, but something juicy. But I guess I guessed wrong because of sweet notes. I recommend oud delice to everybody who likes warm, mild, relaxing sensual scents.

Sweet – woody. Smells great out of the bottle and on paper, but projects itself in a rather unremarkable and uninteresting way on my skin. The honey note is there, which is nice. Its basenotes are very woody. I also get a kind of dust note, sort of like wood shavings. Drydown: white musk and vanilla (I know that these notes are not listed, but it is what I smell).

Incredibly creamy and chocolaty fig. I guess oud and honey mix together gives it that impression, but the fragrance generally is incredibly pleasant and comforting. And this is definitely more on the sweeter side of perfumes. The sweetness here hits different, there is something unique about it, that pulls you in and I keep wanting to sniff it off my wrist.

Warm, earthy honeyed goodness, with just enough dirt and smokiness to make things really interesting. Maybe it's my overactive imagination but wearing it makes me think of ancient rituals, being buried alive beneath a gnarled fig tree, dripping in honey. It's a bit suffocating in hot weather but a perfect winter fragrance.

This is rather gross... A synthetically thick & sweet "thing" that could've been sold for $30. Worse than some of the bad ones from Montale and many Arabian cheapos; this puts Robert Piguet to a new low (Sorry I already don't like the house too much, as nothing they offer are refined/well-blended or natural smelling).

Honeyed amber, & patchouli. It's more of a sweet patchouli, & amber than oud. Maybe the sourness is the reason that this named oud! The colder the more vetiver and kind of oudi it goes with mildly sweet patchouli. It's kind of fair, but i can't sense any quality in here to be honest!

Quite nice. Starts with amber which last about 5 seconds and moves quickly into the patchouli mixed with amber. Some oud and woody smell too. Not a bad scent. Turns sweeter on me in 5 mins . I got sent a sample and I'm quite taken with it but not enough to buy a bottle.

To me this is super dirty earthy natual and fresh. Like fresh soil on a rainy day. Sprinkled with some honey dripping floral. Fig is lost here, oud is a little present, and big patch adds to earthiness. ** 200 samples for swap UK - check my customs, get in touch! **

Quite fruity in the beginning, the dry down is a little bit floral and quite woody. Amazing fragrance
