V. Intense

I have received V Intense as a Christmas present, upon my own blind request, just following the comments that I've read here. The comments did not fail - it's a beautiful fragrance with all the elegance characterising RP's perfumes. Although I can smell the common denominator with Visa, personally I don't think that they are that similar: Visa has a more fruity character (the woody/leathery peach is glorious), while in V the plum smells much more blended into the sandalwood and tonka. Somehow, V reminds me of Annick Goutal's Mon Parfum Chéri - likely due to the plum note. However, while AG's MPC smells sexier with the plum+patchouli combo, V smells creamier and more refined. I love both in different ways - go for V if you prefer to stay classic and for MPC when you want a more modern scent.

I've been living with this for a year now and happily- my bottle got stronger and this sticks around for a while . The PLUM in the composition makes this feels like a HAPPY silly daytime version of DIOR Poison . I really like V and happy that I bought a vintage bottle as well. Not 100% sure that I need a back-up bottle.....V may remain a "library" fragrance to be checked out once or twice a year. I love this house , never smelled one bad thing from them. If you are a guy that wants to explore female fragrances - this is a 7 out of a 10 (10 being the MOST unisex- and 1 being the most girly) . I love this house and because their retail presence in the USA is barely there (no place to sample for FREE!) ; they suffer in popularity GREATLY.

I have been searching for a good quality plum scent and finally I have found it in V Intense. The tonka and sandalwood are evident notes but its the rich, high quality plum that truly won me over with this one, it is quality with depth and sophistication and good longevity and silage, bravo Mr Piguet!

A beautiful BLIND BUY! The "plum" is very mild and nuanced. This is another high quality RP fragrance! I am very happy with it and.....it's STRONG stuff! Very sweet ! Very "purple" feeling. Exquisite ! I love this house ! P.S. smells a BIT like Tom Ford Plum Japonais

I have just ordered my very own bottle of this beauty and I cannot wait for it to become a part of my life. I have been sniffing and trying it for a year now, considering if it is for me or not, but the fact that I didn't get tired of it for so long says enough. I am not used to fruity perfumes, they are usually too sticky and shameless to get along with me. But this one, oh my. I don't know exactly how plum should smell, but according to plum based perfumes I have tried so far, I am loving it! It is something velvety about it. It is strong, heavy and adorable at the same time, spicy and sweet, very very deep and most importantly, special. At one moment I actually thought this is an old lady perfume. Don't know why, I usually like classics and vintage scents, but this one has something shamelessly strong in it and it reminds me of compote. I see this arrogant old lady that takes your seat on a bus, but at the same time, she is carrying so much life within her that you cannot hate her. Don't know if I am just not surrounded by this kind of perfumes or this kind of smell in my daily life, but this is one of the strongest and most unique scents I have ever scented. It is so weird I am loving it. It has super projection, but so far I haven't got any compliments yet. Which is good. And I can see here as well that not much people are interested in this perfume. Which is even better. It means it is not generic and conventional, this is definitely something I want. EDIT: Okay, I've received my bottle, but it is nothing like the sample I had. I don't know if it is possible that sample smells so different or maybe I actually got something else in it, but these are two totally different perfumes. All I get from my bottle is really good, balsamic sandalwood. It is really nice and I will definitely wear it, but it is not what I wanted. Plus, I think I might have a little allergic reaction to it.

I blind-purchased a new, full bottle of Robert Piguet "V Intense" as I'm exploring plum-centric incense fragrances. I've owned a few Piguet perfumes, specifically Bandit, Casbah, Fracas and its flankers. Truth-be-told, Piguet fragrances have never been a full-on love for me. I always seem to struggle a bit with the perfumes... V Intense's notes spoke to me. And some suggested it as a suitable option for the discontinued Tom Ford "Plum Japonais." I never experienced Plum Japonais, so I cannot make a comparison between the two fragrances. Initially, V Intense was a strong like and nearly a love. I swore I smelled mixed white florals with some incense and lots of perfectly sweetened plum. But after wearing V. Intense on a regular basis, I find it fatiguing. V Intense opens quite sharp with loads of plum that smell nearly medicinal, very boozy...like strong, mulled red wine. Within 15 minutes on skin, the fragrance develops with gorgeous mid-notes. During this phase, saffron is most prominent. The perfume becomes smoother and warmer, as the intense booziness of the plum recedes and the saffron note rises. The saffron adds a beautiful touch of soft, powdery, earthy, slightly floral tartness (bitterness) to the intense plum opening. I do get a faint, pome-fruit note, which I assume is pear. If rose is present, it is faint. The dry-down reveals more plum, leathry-ish saffron and creamy sandalwood. I do not detect much patchouli, a note I also love when done well. V Intense's dry-down is gorgeous, it really is. Getting there is a wee-bit rough for me. Performance is stellar.

Not at all what I expected from online reviews. Strangely for me, the top note is very intense balsam and no hint of saffron. As it is drying down I pick up more sweet/tartness which is likely the combination of tonka beans and plum. I like the use of tonka beans here as it isn't as sharp or shouty as vanilla. Don't expect a big fruity fragrance here as the plum only adds some subtle tart, freshness to the scent. The rose is quite hidden; I detect a hint of that bubblegum sweetness/ white floral that is similar to Fracas although there aren't any white floral notes listed. The first blast of balsam was a bit headache inducing but the dry down is nice. Much, much further into the dry down I detect a bit of spiciness but it isn't distinctly saffron which is fine with me. I'm enjoying smelling and re-smelling my wrist but something is missing for me to need this in my collection. The overall effect is a very flirty, and a well done Spring season fragrance. I like it but not $185 like it. I'd highly recommend getting a sample first as that balsam is quite intense!

My first review. Let's begin. V Intense is a superb scent like many others I've tested from Robert Piguet. At first I feel very strongly the mixture of juicy plums and saffron. The smell is spicy, but leans very feminine on me. After a few minutes,the powdery tonka and sandal notes begin to appear in the olfactory landscape, and the fruity smell is replaced with a soft and romantic rose. I can see why there are some references to other unlisted ingredients, I feel strong honey ... It's a chameleonic fragrance, yin and yang - sometimes feminine through that strong tonka powder, sometimes masculine from the saffron and honey combo ... I'm waiting the dry down ... and the performance & longevity. General impression: Strong Like

Although this says for women I would describe it as a unisex gourmand fragrance. However, once upon a time I did buy Visa for myself and ended up giving it to my girlfriend as I just felt I could pull it off but it was that bit too feminine for me. This has that feeling too and a slight fruity/floral quality of Visa, this is mainly in the top notes because the base of this thing is a vanillac, tonka and an eastern sandalwood feel of Cashbah too. So an oriental with a definite depth and quality you'd expect from Robert Piguet...It lasted well on my skin. That's all I can say about it really? The jury is out but I will definitely sample it again in a few months and update.

It's been a year or so since I've been trying to find out which Piguet it was that I tested casually on a paper strip, took home with me and fell in love post festum, because it felt like a wearable Eden. I couldn't for the love of my life remember which one from the Piguet shelf exactly it was, and soon enough the store got rid of the brand altogether so I never got another chance to retest and find the one. I tried consulting the good people of Fragrantica and even started a topic about it, but to no avail. So thank you once again for comparing it with Eden. That must be it! 💚

This scent is very beautiful...and very handsome... Usually I hate anything with patchouli in it, but this may be an exception. This perfume makes me feel like a 60 year old rich man who plays golf with his buddies and drinks liquor by the fireplace. Definitely unisex

218 The only sample I could find here, USA, was overpriced and not sure how fresh it was. I’d love it if someone here would gift me a decant, because I haven’t found options here. So, based on a faded fume, I saw potential. It was lightly fruity(didn’t remind me of plum unfortunately) with a light patchouli and dusty sandalwood. A Fruitchouli in an old fashioned sense, more gentle and not like the ones today(yuck!). I wish I could have more of this to give it a better try. 7/10-not sure yet, need a better decant

It's pretty sweet I with it stays longer on my skin, after 2 hours I can't smell it at all.

Too sweet and sickly - makes me gag.

VIP - Very Intense Plum, Very Impressive Perfume. Sweet yet dusky, extremely classy, not cloying, deep, dark and delicious. The sandalwood's extremely gentle, and the fruit natural enough to dodge any air-freshener associations. Gourmand with restraint - a moderate slice of plum tart, rather than a whole baking tray of cake all to yourself. I could maybe have done with a little more spice & woods to mellow it out a little more and give more depth at the bottom end, but would say it's still a sweet unisex overall, rather than being so sugary that it's girlish or over-feminine. With time, though, the fruit does get even sweeter, though no more femme, cycling into almost spiced-honey territory. It still might be a little over-lush for very hot or humid weather, though - would probably shine its brightest on grey, cool days. Not my usual kind of thing, but very pleasant indeed. An intense fruity fragrance with exotic notes. V wants to represent a journey, that of wild love for the most remote and imaginative places, and with this intense, sweet and juicy fruity combination it fully succeeds. The pyramid here on fragrantica is wrong, the most enhancing elements are definitely pear, peach, coupled with creamy hints of saffron and a ylang ylang that gives that exotic touch. Absolutely cheerful and summery, fulsome, for fruity lovers a real wonder always with the signature trait of elegance given by Piguet. "Servant girl with fruit plate" painted by Cittadini.

I bought this a few months back. It was one of those fragrances that you try in a store and instantly know you're going to be buying it before you leave... even if you try out 5-6 others! I too would describe this as unisex. I am a male and I wear this quite often. The plum is very fruity but a good quality fruity. Not that car air-freshener kind of vibe that some of the cheaper fragrance try to sell as fruity! I do get compliments when I wear this. The projection is very strong for the first hour or so, then drops down a little, but still projects well. I get 12+ hours on my skin.

I've had this on my shelf for several years and wear it only sporadically. It lives up to it's name Intense. To me, it is very intense. It is sweet almost to the point of being cloying but it drys down after a while to a softer, powdery, fruity, sweetness. It lingers on my clothing and in my hair if I get a spritz on it to the point that I'm sick of it by the next day. It's that intense. It's super hot here and I am not feeling it in the blazing heat. I like it alot more when it's winter time sitting in front of a blazing fire at night. It's not for the timid.

Just received this in the mail, and my first tiny dab on my hand is very thick fruity-jammy and a bit spicy. Plum is heavy, and it reminds me of Poison a bit. (I mostly get plum-sandalwood) I will update on my proper wear! Oh.... this disappoints me. I guess they can't all be winners. :( While the opening blast of this is juicy, plummy, jammy and spicy.... it honestly dries down about 5 minutes later to a rather generic fruity-raspberry bubblegum woods with average sillage/longevity.

This is intense but I love it, another successful blind buy. I wasn’t sure what saffron smelled like in a fragrance but since this smells and vibes similar to Noir de Noir from TF soon as I sprayed this I recognized the saffron. I can’t wait to wear this in the winter. The rose reminds of the rose in oud satin mood which is to die for a well. I’ve heard this is hard to find glad I was able to get my hands on an 100ml bottle for $70 on fragrantica.

Looks like Aurelien Guichard borrowed some ideas from his father, Jean, and created his own version of Eden. Very clever ;) V. Intense is fruity and slightly vanillic. Dense but still sour and bracing. Like a forgotten gem from the late 80's (think Eternity, Calyx, Ca Sent Beau). To me, it smells completely feminine but some guys may be able to pull it off. As faubel said, it is an excellent alternative to modern fruitchoulies.

Patchouli is what I notice first. Then fruit. There's a certain dusty quality too. The patchouli starts out a bit green, then calms down. Never scratchy or harsh. It doesn't smell like La Petite Robe Noire but it has a similar vibe. It's less sweet, more subdued. A nice fruit and patchouli scent that doesn't resemble the endless boring fruitchouli designer perfumes that have been coming out for the past ten years or so.

Scent - sandalwood & tonka beans. Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the colder months, day or night. Projection - I didn't get noticed, I didn't get a compliment. Longevity - I get 6hrs consistently.

Spicy plum jam occasionally dusty . Sometimes it smells sweet sometimes bitter. Think this can be unisex. Love it. Im not sure if it's a compliment getter but more the type of perfume you wear for yourself.

I only tried a sample but its gorgeous and I can't forget it and am so tempted to buy it but worried it may be too sweet and sickly. the plum is like plum jam so syrupy and gorgeous

Oooh. So sweet. Not in a good way. Usually I enjoy sweet fragrances this one feels overwhelming. The plum aspect is enjoyable, but expect a big sugary blast.

The Happiness of Gucci RUSH but more natural . This is an eye-opener first thing in the morning . Very cheerful and uplifting !
