Divine Oud

If you're a rose perfume fan, you can blind buy it, and you will enjoy it. The only problem, this perfume is hard to get and not the cheapest one. It opens with a heavy powdery rose and slowly dries down to agarwood, floral violet, and in the end, you can feel hints of Raspberry. Sometimes it hits me with vanilla also (not listed). The smell of rose will go down up until raspberry; then the entire composition turns into something sweet. This perfume is very long lasting. If I spray it on the cloth, it will stay on it all day. However, if you want this first kick of rose to follow you around, I'd recommend buying an atomiser and refresh it in like 4-8 hours. Just a few sprays will be enough to leave a trail and gather those compliments! This perfume is very strong don't try to bath in it. Projection is something out of this world; everyone around you will smell it. It sparks all over the place and not asking for any permissions from people around. Therefore, choose wisely when or where to wear it. However, when it dries down it gets closer to the skin, so don't expect crazy projection throughout the whole experience. When you feel your magic has almost vanished, you can always refresh it.

A bit shocked by some of the comments, i usually don't enjoy heavy-on-the-oud-scents however, this one i love! I find it more of a freshy then a woody scent, also being middle eastern and having traveled to the perfume meccas dubai and turkey i also dont agree that this is a typical middle eastern oud scent, just my opinion. I live in a colder climate area where many locals prefer quiet scents and this perfume has been nothing but a compliment getter, perhaps skin chemistry really matters with this one.

This grew on me and is a beautiful and deep resinous scent. I feel confident and very authentic when I lay this close to my clavicle. It has beautiful staying power and if you layer it carefully it won’t over power the room. This is gorgeous and one I will hopefully keep in my rotation for a while to come

Simply my favorite perfume, everyone I know likes the scent, very easy to wear. Just has that elegant combination of Oud, sweet rose and a bit of woody notes. I keep this one for special occasions.

A nice floral oudy smell. Brings so many memories. Not for everyday wear. Problem is it’s quite hard to find and it’s not that cheap.

There is nothing 'divine' about this perfume, way overpriced. Smells like a typical middle eastern perfume, you would expect more considering the price they are asking for, as another put it, smells like a cheap attar (does not smell cheap but the smell is often associated with attars you can get on a budget and here you are paying 200$+). Could not smell any raspberry or frutiness in this perfume, typical palatable oud rose, the oud here is acceptable to western noses Projection and longevity is acceptable Overall, this perfume is a dud

Woods intense! Divine Oud smells like a classic attar you find in Arabic markets. Very woody smell that almost does not smell like oud, with a floral nuance from violet and rose. No fruitiness here. Sharp, loud, woody. I honestly hoped for more. I hoped from something more complex and rich. It is still a good woody perfume, just not as oud-smelling as I hoped. If my memory serves me right, this is an exact smell alike of Rasasi's Oudh al Mithali. Unisex, leans masculine, winter wear. "Like" and pass

I cannot believe how underrated this gem is. I think maybe some people think Cavalli and stick their noses up at it as it is a designer not a niche, but I'd contend this is absolutely niche quality. I don't have much oud in my collection but part of the reason, indeed probably the main reason, is that this is just so good. I haven't smelt anything else that is definitively oud, that gets to this level, apart from Oud Stallion by Crivelli which is a bit different and somewhat more complicated than this. It is simple, sumptuous and simply sumptuous. You find your eyes rolling back on the first opening, which is immediately exquisite. The drydown is tender, gentle and superbly judged. The Bulgarian rose and raspberry are just so well balanced and have surprising sticking power against the power of the oud accords. They do not dominate the oud notes but light them up and add this lusciousness that keeps you coming back to your wrist to sniff, like an addict. I have a couple of other oud-y fragrances but none that are just plain oud, and none that are done as well as this. It is a pity that this is not a daily wearer and probably not office-safe, although I'd absolutely love to be able to wear this all the time. God, it is gorgeous. Oud has this timeless, addictive beauty that makes you feel more attractive when you smell of it. I am not an attractive guy by any means - English style toothy, crooked smile, bags under my eyes, bald, carrying about 20 kilos too many - but oh my goodness this makes me feel like Brad Pitt's better looking English younger brother. Let's go back to the drydown. It is, as I've said, fabulous. The oud and fruit and floral backer accords meld together in this beautiful melodic sort of way making this very smooth indeed. There are no heavy tones or sharp edges and all the notes are moving in and out of each other to mix together. It is not one smell made of many accords, but one smell. The fruity notes die away first as the oud starts to settle closer to the skin after four or so hours and the woodiness of the oud comes slightly more to the fore. I get an easy 6-7 hours from this from the standard four sprays and I think it would go for longer with more. I find it astonishing how the Cavalli Gold Collection is so slept on by collectors and the fragrance glitterati because I've sampled all of them pretty much and they are all top, top class. Strong, well-blended, superbly judged and with formidable performance that goes toe to toe with almost any niche oud brand. It is less fussy and complicated than the Arabian monsters and finer and higher quality than any of the designer frags in this section. The collection is outstanding and whilst I've seen some grumble at Cavalli asking nearly niche money for what they see as a designer fragrance, I've already stated that I think this is more than high quality enough to justify the price tag. And also, let's talk about the bottle. Wow. Over the top? You bet. Borderline ridiculous? Possibly. Very nicely done and incredibly high quality? Absolutely yes. I love it. Divine Oud is outstanding to my nose. It isnt doing anything clever or especially original, as there are only about three ingredients here, but it is doing oud with a very minimal underlying accords to carry it, extremely well and in an extremely high quality production. For sure it is one of the best and most loved fragrances in my horde and other Gold Collection fragrances will definitely join before too long. Next time you see this in a shop, give it a spritz. It’s not listed here (or anywhere else as far as I can see), but Divine Oud Intense is stunning. I can’t wear rose, and I was sent a DOI tester in error (should have been Tobaccomore) I’ve no idea what the note breakdown is, but I’m getting a wonderful balance of Amber, woods and a hint of leather. There’s some rose in there, but nothing that would have your grandma questioning why you’ve been at her powdering table. Top drawer stuff. Smells way above the $90 aud tag.
