Florence Amber

So for me Roberto Cavalli has mostly been misses for me in my younger years due to well blind purchasing two Cavalli fragrances because I was fooled by the test strips and how good they smelt. In short younger me was stupid. Anyway and I can't believe I'm saying this but I may have found one I really like...well love. And thanks to generous swap partner who gave me a decant of this. So to me Florence Amber comes off as somewhat warming, relaxing and not too loud. Upon spraying this on my hand. I get little hints of orange and cashmirewood but mostly thick, sweet honey. It's really intoxicating as I keep going back to my hand smelling it. I have a feeling I'll be buying a full bottle of this soon. I am genuinely surprised by how much I like this and it was another love at first sniff.

This fragrance is the scent of an educated, classy woman, but it's never overpowering. The citrus and honey in it are so well balanced that it is not confusing at all. I would definitely buy this scent again, it's very lasting and classy! I think it goes for all seasons😍

No reviews for this pretty scent yet? That‘s a shame, it‘s lovely! This is not an ambery scent like the name says, but a honey scent. Honey is a tricky note for me, sometimes I love it and sometimes it turns cloying or gross on me. This is an easy to wear honey that smells sweet and clean, not overwhelming in any way. The honey stays fresh on my skin for hours, thanks to the airy gardenia and the juicy fruits. The cashmere wood gives the scent a modern, creamy texture. Patchouli is only a whisper in the background and not very strong in here. I would put this roughly into one category with Elie Saab Le Parfum and JPG Scandal (white florals + honey + patchouli), but Elie Saab is sharper with the orange blossom and jasmine, and Scandal is much louder and sweeter. Florence Amber is more of a tender, floral honey gourmand without any hard edges. It‘s rather linear in its developement, but complex enough so you don‘t smell like you fell into a pot of honey. The bottle color matches the scent well in my opinion.

I was so eager to test this since I really enjoy Roberto Cavalli's fragrances. I agree with what SailorV wrote about it, this isn't an amber perfume like you would've expected. It's more of a honey floral with a touch of mandarin orange, not a thick honey though but more of a light sirupy kind of honey, so it's sweet and warm but bright at the same time - overall it's a very nice solar scent, that's easy and fun to wear. This is very similar to a perfume I have and love - La Diva by Emanuel Ungaro - which was also created by perfumer Marie Salamagne and they both share a lot of the same notes - they both have honey, gardenia, quince, patchouli and orange. It's not a groundbreaking or an unique fragrance but it has an interesting character - it's a happy sweet fruity scent that has a spring-sumer feel to it.

So excited to try a Roberto Cavalli that appeared - per the reviews here - to be different and easily wearable. It started out as fresh, light, a little sparkly, a little "ambery," and i really liked it. Hours later, unfortunately, it devolves into super, extremely, very sweet flowery scent, reminiscent of all the other sweet Robert Cavalli's i have, but sweeter, and headache inducing. i will try a few more times, but I am not sure i will be able to wear it. Edit: i am happily wearing this. it has a benzoin/amber like headiness and a freshness that reminds me of Wonderlust Sublime.

Golden flowers in a vase, in a warm room...under a fading August sun. Golden hour. This is honeyed, pretty white florals and citruses. It's a smooth herbal amber, but not oldschool...I would classify it as a neo-amber, yet with a little bit of a soapy echo. Very reminiscent of late summer to me. If you're patchouli-shy, I think this is still worth investigating for yourself, because it doesn't drive too hard it the patch lane. For the price of this at places like TJMaxx or Ross, it's awesome.

Homely. Florence Amber is the smell of breakfast engagingly distilled then bottled here. The scent of the honey in the small aluminium pods comes out exactly from this amber-colored bottle, for an instant. It's the same aroma mixed with the butter and the jam of my breakfast toast rusks, along with the Apricot & Honey Tea I often drink next. Sweet. Cypress is a ghost note to me. The bottle makes me want to play chess, I would use it as a castle.

This perfume was a blind buy, as I found it at a very reasonable price (around 60 USD) it is mainly honey....sickly sweet honey and then maybe some citrus hints shows up when you first spray it on, the name could be misleading that there is amber in there, but I understand why they called it Florance Amber as it is a warm perfume after all... I like the perfume, but I do not think I will repurchase again

I got a small decant of this to test it out, I’m not usually a huge citrus fan so I wasn’t expecting much but this is actually a very beautiful and affordable fragrance. I don’t get that much of amber which given the name was surprising, that being said there is a subtle sweet amber note. The patchouli and honey come through nicely, quite a clean smell with a very minor smokey note

A beautiful chypre fragrance! Patchouli and honey. Mmm... nice! Similar to the classic Florence, but Amber is sweeter and more floral, while the original Florence is 100% patchouli, I like both of them. A very successful combination of chypre + floral + fruity + gourmand notes. Longevity and sillage are all day long. Marie Salamagne made another masterpiece!

This is a hidden gem. This is like a child of Alien essence absolue and classique essence. Really pretty honeyed white flower with woody notes. The patchouly is not strong. It feels more like amber, honey and white flowers. Maybe some resins there? Sillage and longevity are moderate. The bottle is very pretty.

Well, too much reminiscent of Scandal. Really a lot. I like Scandal for certain moods. If you have it, you don't need Florence Amber either. The similarities are really very noticeable.

Honey! Lots of it. I thought I'd like this because of the cypress note (I really love Cavalli's Paradiso), it's an amber scent, and it's by Salamagne. It's a nice blend, but the honey and patchouli together are not my friend in the opening. I enjoy honey in perfumes, but this is very heavy. Will try again in colder weather. In hot weather, the drydown is a neat, sweet fragrance. Not something I'd have to have though. It reminds me a little of CK Euphoria Gold's honey note, but that one is juicier. If you want a honey heavy perfume, and you enjoy Salamagne's creations, this is a good try. May not be successful for those who find patchouli to be an issue.

sweet and sunny perfume. similar to scandal edp but scandal has more depth i think. if you love scandal this is not a replacement.

Mix honey with orange, what do u get—-> an amber vibe! Before I come to Fragrantica to check up the notes, I knew that I won’t find amber here "although it's called Florence Amber", and I’m right!!! However, I get the vibe out of it, the scent is deep, sweet and sour-y; good for winter, definitely for more mature ladies, not for a teenager, it’s not a sweet soft fragrance, No, this one is serious, dark, and hard to miss around!! Reminds me of Alien Amber Essence Absolue, but the last has a real Amber vanilla field that is mixed with Jasmine, this one is the younger sister ^_^

I have a decant if this and I think that'll do me just fine.. It opens up as a really pleasant amber, with some citrus and nondescript fruity sweetness (quince?) but as time passes it's developing into something getting sweeter and sweeter..to the point that I just don't think the name describes it aptly, and the word 'amber' should be just omitted from the name altogether.. Towards the drydown and hours on it kind of gets back to amber, but again - it's more sweet than amber..Pity,I really was hoping for a nice amber scent..

To me, this is a combo between Lancome LVB and Paco Rabanne Olympea Legend. It is very sweet and bright and the honey note is definitely predominant in this one. I thought it will be very similar to the original Roberto Cavalli Florence, which I cannot stand, but luckily it has nothing in common with it. So, if you are into sweet, strong and noticeable perfumes, this is for you.
