Official website highlights these three as notes: ▪pathouli ▪amber ▪orange blossom (fleur d'orangeur). So you expect the whole composition to mainly give off these accords and the rest notes mentioned: ▪grapefruit petals ▪hibiscus seeds ▪blackcurrant ▪mandarin essence ▪musk are simply complimentary and do not interfere much to the resulting scent of the juice. Which is true. This is how Florence smells and it is the best copy-cat of Angel created. It reminds you of LVEB because there is sweetness somewhere, but it is vague, not prominent. It reminds you of Si because of the blackcurrant touches here and there, also not becoming prominent. It's not the patchouli that reminds you of LVEB or Si. The patchouli is the one used in Angel full stop. It is honeyed just like the Angel one, and apparent, prominent and heady from the beginning and laced throughout the end with warm amber and the orange blossom as we know it from Classique and Opium Vapeurs de Parfum. Lasts more than six hours and projects heavily for the first three hours and then sits quiet on the skin, still potent, it's not going anywhere. Technically, this follows the patchouli-floral trend. It's an addictive and captivating perfume. Sensual almost. The bottle is beautiful from up close, the purple colour matches the scent perfectly in my opinion. You could use Florence as a signature scent. Despite its name, it does not rely on florals. Now, if you love Angel, you're gonna love Florence.

Initial impression reminds me of Hermes Hiris. But better, livelier, with great radiant sillage and 24+ hours longevity. The flowers are fronted by sweet carrot scent. It is very charming and comforting, amusing even. It creates a similar impression to orris root and iris, though without powdery tones. It feels joyous and juicy. Very feminine. I cannot decide whether the carrot is fresh or boiled with a teaspoon of butter. Behind this impression is a buch of floral notes, and they remain floral till background. I think it's spectacular, likeable, universal and the strong impression of carroty iris and orris root is very Florence to me. The bottle is gorgeous as well. In a way, all of the recent Roberto Cavalli are very feminine, wereable and have great performance without being a bottled headache. I was surprised not to see Iris in notes, but seeing them - yes, I feel them. Floral citrus branches, tart black currant in subtle dose, juicy mandarine oil scent. The base is subtly warm, not to drown the floral notes. Patchouli is also just a drop. I love it already. So very Italian. It is better from my bottle than my initial tests from sampler. I am glad I have it.

Absolutely addicting. Deep, grounded, berry, orange blossom, and amber reduction but not overly sweet. The sweetness is a natural dark berry syrup type sweet. Just beautiful. I kept hearing that this is a patchouli bomb and was avoiding it. The patchouli is definitely there, but it is incognito. LOL. The amber and berry scent is so much more prominent. When I remind myself there is a lot of patchouli in here, then I pick it up, but it is a beautiful sweet patchouli. Love this! So glad I got a sample. I'll be buying a full bottle soon! 9/10 rating.

Wow! Florence is one of those perfumes that looks luxurious and smells like it as well. The bottle alone needs special acknowledgement for craftsmanship. The perfume itself is definitely date night, boss lady, no nonsense women. The dry down is particularly sensual with amber and musk. I would recommend this for colder seasons during the day or as a night time scent for every season. Currently on the 30ml bottle, but I'll definitely buy the 75ml. Prices are great for what you get - if you told me this is a niche perfume of 250€ I would believe it.

It took a while to develop on my skin but the waiting was worth it. I'm a bit biased because I own a lot of Cavalli fragrances and I love their scents a lot. The opening was a bit sharp, but afterwards the scent started to bloom: Deep black currant, creamy amber and a lot of flowers. Very sophisticated, sensual, maybe a bit oldschool but absolutely not in a bad way. It's sexy, but classy. Feminine, but not girly. Sweet, but in a charming way. Sillage and longevity were amazing.

The top notes, especially the blackcurrent note is overpowering, this perfume only smells good after they fade, It smells heavenly after settling down, I once accidentally sprayed it on my hair and it stayed till the next day, Same thing with clothes, It stays 24+ hours, But it fades after 12+ hours on the skin, it’s best to wear during the colders months and at nights... 10/10

One spray and 24 hours later, it's still there on my inner forearm, even after washing. No kidding! And NO patchouli, thank God! I did not expect this after the initial spray, because it seemed a generic, blah kind of perfume, but it kept developing hours after hours. A bit perfumey at first, but elegant and classy none the less. I gotta get myself a backup bottle right away!

Very nice scent of patchouli and mandarin. Modern chypre. Longevity and sillage - twenty four hours. It's the type of fragrance where too much patchouli makes the scent better, louder and more beautiful. Patchouli is balanced by flowers and citrus notes. The bottle is gorgeous. It reminds me of colorful stained-glass windows of churches and cathedrals in Florence. I like it!

This is so nice! What a steal for the price! Opens up with a spicy berry almost anis note combination then begins to develop florals and even aldehydic sort of soapy freshness that takes you on a delightful journey but at the same time keeps a little of all the notes together throughout so you still enjoy the fragrance from beginning to end. Hidden gem for sure

Ok. Blind buy all because of Fragrantica and I'm here for it. This is a sensual 30+ year old woman perfume. I sprayed it today at 8:30 am and 6 hours later is still going strong. If you love amber patchouli and a little bit of orange blossom I highly recommend. I'm now interested in the other two from the range.

the bottle is gorgeous!! this smells so nice on me. I absolutely love it! It does not remind me of lveb, angel or Armani Si at all. It doesn't remind Me of anything I have... But if I was to compare, it might be more similar to Jimmy Choo signature + Lolita lempicka. I really love the way this smells. Yummy!!!

Oh my goodness! This perfume is absolutely divine! My skin usually turns patchouli into an acrid smell, not with this one. It's sweet, intense and dark. It smells on me the way Angel smells on the chosen crowd.

I don't know why this perfume is so lowly rated as it is a beautiful classy elegant fragrance! Definitely something to wear for a special night out maybe going out for a romantic meal.

İt's a la vie est belle in a more beautiful bottle. Quality is really good. İt's a unisex scent but better for womens over 25 years old. Longevity is strong and sillage very good.

When I smell this, I imagine a gorgeous elegant woman in a fur coat on a theater balcony. The scent is very feminine, but not in an innocent way.

It's a nice fruity scent for mature female. Some notes repeat with Si of Giorgio Armani. It's a nice one by itself though.

Too acid for me..Maybe hibiscus note makes that? Bottle is very beautiful otherwise.

A bit more than a like, leaning more towards a love. I wore this yesterday putting it on around lunchtime. I have to say, this is quite similar to Joop but with a strong note of blackcurrant. I'm not mad about it at all! Like some others have mentioned, I also did not get any patchouli, at least not in a medicinal, cool/cold/sterile way as that note can often come across. Blackcurrant is the most dominant note in this fragrance. It comes off as quite rich and syrupy in the initial stages. The amber also pushes through, a note I am only fond of in very small quantities as it comes off as sharp on my skin. Another note that is very present is musk and I'm here for it. In the same way that Joop has that somewhat subdued, slightly moody, yet sensuous musk feel to it, so too does Florence. The opening is very blackcurrant, perhaps a bit mandarin orange, and amber with a slight musky undertone. The drydown leans more blackcurrant (although a bit more muted), floral but not in a loud way and I'm not entirely sure which blossom it is or if it is a combination of both the orange and grapefruit blossom, and musk. It goes from really quite beautiful to stunning. I've had to wear it at least 3 times to get me to this point in my thoughts. It's fairly inoffensive and apart from the blackcurrant in the opening part of the journey, settles down to a scent that most could cope with in a confined space such as a shared office. The moodiness and sensuality this fragrance brings to the table could easily make it a nighttime scent. If you're a fan of Joop or YSL Cinema, this will highly likely hit right for you. As others have also commented, Florence has incredible longevity! Considering this is a fairly inexpensive perfume that outlasts many niche perfumes, it is definitely value for money. The bottle is not only beautiful, but nice to hold and very heavy. Projection is around arm's length and sillage (especially for the first few hours) is around 6 feet. I could still smell the fragrance when I went to bed around 2am and could smell it in my hair around my neck this morning and on the clothes I wore yesterday. This very easily evokes the emotion of wanting your significant other to touch you, kiss you, embrace you "like you'll never see me again" in true Alicia Keys style 🥰😍💕

I agree with a lot of things said before. It is the Angel without sweetness. Chocolate Patchouli with some last night cigarette tone. It is sort of art deco fragrance and bottle is very right for it. I liked it on paper and decided to buy. Then I sprayed on myself normally and almost was unable to breath due to heavy headachy patchouli. I should say I can not stand Angel, but this one without sweetness is ok. It is spring in Australia and seems it is not good for spring or summer. I think it would be great in icy winter. These patchouli will become sparkly like brut champagne in very cold winter. It does not have good longevity, projections is not bad, its quite dense after application. And I should mention the bottle. I think you can put anything in this bottle and it will sell. I take it in hands and dont want to leave it. It feels heavy and expensive. My husband is from Tuscany: I do not think Italians will like this perfume and not sure what exactly from Florence it carries. As for the decision to buy: I do not think it is a crowd pleaser. It requires some right temperature conditions to wear and right circumstances. Also you need to ensure that you like patchouli in Angel before buying Florence. This patchouli is not like Coco or Midnight Poison, and not even like patchouli oil. So if you have a chance to test, test it before buying.

I don't own any patchouli-forward scents because I *thought* that I despised patchouli. That is, I tried HIPPIE ROSE by James Heeley and detested it, thinking the offensive note was patchouli. But I now stand corrected because the patchouli in ROBERTO CAVALLI's FLORENCE is so damn good that a new world has opened for me. I bought this blind at Marshall's, and I'm beyond excited. Not only is the bottle gorgeous, but hours out, I'm loving the scent even more! I don't know what anyone can mean when they say poor longevity or sillage; this is HUGE and FOREVER (and inoffensive). Sweet (but not overly so), chewy, and I can't wait to wear this in the spring and summer for some sexy date nights or girl night dinners. I also can't wait to use this as a base to carry my more floral bright fragrances, making them last and adding complexity.

As a Belgian, we all grew up with Val Saint Lambert crystalware at home and in the houses of ascendants. The chiseled colored crystal would be showcased or brought out on special occasions. This bottle is very reminiscent of VSL. So yes: win! As to the fragrance: the notes mentioned combined might suggest a really dark and hypnotic concoction. Out of the cauldron, however, the brew is balanced and quite calmer than expected. In a good way: yes, there is Angel reference, but without the harsh sugary kick, the black currants aren't overly screeching for attention as they are toned down by citrus notes, and the drydown is powdery without the ectoplasma of your longtime dead great aunt hovering next to you. A very nice fragrance indeed in a showcase bottle.

This one was a total blind buy .. I honestly just fell for the bottle when I saw it online. I’ve never been a big fan of Roberto Cavalli fragrances, but Florence surprised me. The blend is elegant but definitely leans heavy. It’s rich, deep, and walks with confidence. The blackcurrant is the star for me .. juicy, bold, and slightly tart, giving the fragrance a vibrant edge right from the start. The mix of hibiscus and orange blossom softens it just enough, while the grapefruit adds a subtle sparkle. As it settles, the amber and patchouli kick in with a warm, grounding base. A teenage girl near me said (testing it) "baaad, old lady". So I've tested it to see what is an "old lady scent" for milennials. After spraying: plum! (really juicy purple one) + tuberose/orange flower/grape soda (echoes of Poison for one minute) After 30 minutes: tuberose/orange flower + powdery "sawdusty" vanilla (causing dryness in nostrills), I'm getting Black Opium vibes, cold vanilla After one hour: vanilla/cotton candy (it's getting sweeter) + orange flower + and patchouli (it is the dry note). And now it smells similar to Shot Halloween. Not oldladyish at all. Edit: I've read other reviews and indeed there is someting in the base that reminds me LVEB (maybe the combination of cotton candy/vanilla, patchouli and black currant)

Like many others, I blind bought this online for the bottle (it's cheap to begin with, and I got in on sale). It opens a bit sharp and vintage-smelling with juicy-sparkly blackberry and mandarin, then grows warmer and softer over time. On drydown, the white florals, patchouli, amber, and musk remain steady and proportionate, blending into an accord where no single note dominates. To me, she's definitely not a grandma - but rather a 35+ childfree aunt who's a little extra. Great for the price! I will not wear it every day, but I'll reach for it when I need to unapologetically make a statement.

I revisited this one today, 6 years after I've got it and it's more sour than I remembered it to be. First I thought "Oh it has got bad...", but later it gets better. I remember it smoother, but no. I love the patchouli, orange blossom and amber in it, but I feel it still misses some extra depth, some dark note that would make it amazing to my nose, such as a soft wood (not oud). It's my beloved's TF Velvet orchid baby - it's her wannabe, but it's still a happy baby playing under the winter sun. It has growth to do. I like it for my winter days, a lot. Not office-friendly.

So smooth, feminine, and warm. I love the mix of blackcurrant and patchouli, they both have a refreshing greenness along with the fruitiness that keeps things interesting. I was hoping for that wine smell that some other reviews mentioned, but it’s not there for me unfortunately. Even so, wearing this still makes me feel like an elegant woman, holding a delicate glass of something strong and expensive and leaning on a balcony railing. She’s wearing a black dress, gold earrings, and taking in the view. I fell for that pretty bottle, but the spray is just as nice!

Fresh feminine fragrance, very pleasant: the opening notes are fresh, the lively sour notes of the black currant are vivid, the citrus notes of the mandarin are clear and decisive, which rises solemnly on a floral blend of orange blossom that amplifies its deep solar essence and Mediterranean. When dry down, the amber, enveloping and musky notes make it largely reassuring with that dominant note of mandarin that accompanies the whole olfactory experience. It does not have an extended duration over time like all citrus fragrances.

Florence is one of the best perfumes you can get for the price. Performance is quite good, the scent is very pleasant, patchouli amber centered. I was expecting to sense a bit more of the citrus and white floral notes, but I am not disappointed by what it turned out to be. I did buy it for the bottle, which is gorgeous, but I end up wearing it more often than I expected. It may not be for everyone, it leans a bit heavy and you have to like patchouli, but at this price I have to give it a 10/10.

Nice perfume, pretty bottle. On my skin it is very well behaved. Simple, pretty, inoffensively sweet. Not what i was expecting from Roberto Cavalli. If you want a fragrance just to smell pretty and nice, this one may be the one for you. It smells almost like a naturally good smelling skin. To me, it is a bit boring, but i can not say it is bad. The only really negative points to me are poor sillage and longevity.

Beautiful, delicious, gourmand, classy fragrance - this is the first Cavalli perfume I have ever tried and it's wonderful! It reminds me of Angel and also of Black Amethyst by BBW. It's warm, rich and mood-enhancing, and the most prominent notes to my nose are black currant, mandarine orange, orange blossom, patchouli and amber.

Gorgeous bottle! The scent reminded me of Black opium upon initial spray, I could swear I smelled coffee. Very prominent patch, but not a dirty one. Bold night scent with heavy silage. Moderate longevity. New for Cavalli, but not new for the world of fragrance. In case one crave a exquisite perfume bottle, it's a must-have.

It starts very nicely with fruits and flowers, but after a while there is a lot of patchouli, amber and musk. Overall it's not a bad scent, but it's unimpressive.

I’m not sure why, but I smell Oud (Agarwood) in this perfume, which I like. This is a one-time buy for me, though, because of the citrus elements.

I would totally fall in love with this one, but the dry - down is too masculine for me.

A regrettable blind buy. The bottle, you know... 🙄 Unfortunately, the juice does not agree with me. To me, it’s boozy and soapy. I wasn’t too sure what people meant describing a scent as “soapy”, but now I think I know because this reminds me of soap suds. It also feels cold and damp. Earlier reviewers mentioned grape juice. Yep. Boozy grape = wine. That’s it - sudsy red wine! 😂 The only one among the frags I own that comes even a little bit close to how Florence smells would be Euphoria (which I rarely use). Update: willy-nilly as I’m now stuck with it, I’m getting habituated to Florence. It’s not as unbearable as some others. But I‘ll probably be self-conscious about radiating the proverbial (expensive, in this case) grandma vibes and choking out folks when wearing it on the outside. Quite a statement, this fragrance! Second update: I’m giving second chances to Florence to see how it behaves in autumn. Nope, still the same. It feels like someone has thrown a glass of red wine at me, and here I am, drenched in wine, cold and uncomfortable. However, if someone seeks to smell like nobody else, this would be it. This fragrance is very “different” as far as I’m concerned: I’ve never smelt anything like this. But then again, I’ve never been to Italy... PS: after sampling Coco Noir, I realise Florence is a close approximation.

In short it smells like table sugar mixed with some patchouli. These two notes, along with cassis leaf note, do not blend together so well; they all stand out on their own. The notes table says the opening is black currant but I smell the table sugar note and cassis leaf separately. The dry-down is mainly orange blossom (which is why the sweetness persists) with patchouli (not heavy) and some cassis leaf. When the sweetness fades to some extent, it has a little bit of Armani Si vibe. It would be an elegant daytime scent after an hour of drydown. UPDATE: After 12 hours of wearing it's still on me, but there's no more patchouli left, only sweet musk. EDIT 2 (September 2022): I actually find the opening to be juicier than I wore last year... I guess the warmer weather makes the black currant note fruitier rather like a cassis leaf. The patchouli is still strong but overall it's also quite sweet.

Yet another one of my blind purchases, based on notes and people’s reviews here. The bottle is beautiful, heavy and classic. Its a hot summer day and this is a heavy late autumn winter night time extravaganza. I will have to revisit and review properly then. I just wanted to make a note here that I sprayed it on and kept thinking that I have had this fragrance before, - WHAT is it???? Trying to rack my - far distant - memory from more than 20 years ago whilst doing other things, smelling my wrist...and then finally realised that it smells almost exactly like Muglers Angel, which, if memory serves, its only a tiny bit sweeter and rounder whereas this is a tiny bit spicier on me. I loved that type of overpowering sweet scents at that time when I was much younger but I now find them a bit too much, kind of like turning up the music very loud, its unnecessary and eventually the sound quality suffers..ok Im old now, nevermind...the point being is that sometimes - and in the olfactory world, oftentimes- you make a bigger statement by having a bit quieter voice and more things to say than in your face blast of smell that suffocates everything else around you. I will reserve my final judgements for a cold November day just after halloween for this one, maybe wrapped in a fur coat, real fur in this instance.

Blind buy mostly because of the bottle - and that bottle really is nice and heavy, feels luxurious. As for the juice not a fan. Based on the notes I thought I would like it. It's not absolutely horrible, just bland. Expected the opening to be fruitier, like a juicy blackcurrant fruit, but it smells more like the leaves of the bush that I have in the garden. Reminiscent of a shampoo smell. That smell fades in about 2 hours and develops a sweet grassy scent, which I'm guessing is the patchouli. That smell fades in about 3 hours. Honestly I don't also see many people below 35 enjoying this, does smell a bit grandma to me. Maybe I'll try layering it with some fruity fragrance, otherwise I'll see if my mum likes it.

I love the bottle. But a perfume called Florence without a drop of Iris which is the symbol of the city? Too bad. There is nothing italian inside. Common sweet scent. It could have any name and any bottle with that juice inside. I call this: a missed opportunity to do something different or targeted.

Florence by Roberto Cavalli is a stunning fragrance. It just goes to show that decent fragrances don't have to be niche or expensive. I adore Roberto Cavalli Eau de Parfum, (another elegant orange blossom fragrance from this house). Florence is similar, however, it has more of a chypre quality with an added patchouli accord and no vanilla. The opening is a somewhat zesty blend of citrus, blackcurrant and hibiscus. For a second I thought that this fragrance was a tropical fruity floral, however, the heart and drydown introduces creamy orange blossom, syrupy amber and musky patchouli. It's less tropical and more of a warm floral chypre. Florence is a very feminine scent and an easy crowd-pleaser. If you like orange blossom, you'll most likely enjoy this fragrance. Not only is the bottle beautiful to look at, but the contents are just as good if not better. The lasting power was approximately six hours on my skin and the sillage moderate to strong, depending on the number of sprays. Florence is a fragrance that tends to grow on you. The opening is admittedly not my favourite, however, the drydown is superb. I'm tempted to purchase a bottle, especially seeing that the price for a 50ml is more than reasonable.

I plan to review this at a later date, once it has turned cold her. At the moment it is still warm and humid. This was a blind buy for me. mostly because I love the bottle. I am a sucker for pretty glass bottles! So, after spraying some of the perfume on my wrist, I could have sworn there were grapes in there. I got a blast of grape juice or grape soda. Also some tobacco? This is not a favorite scent. It reminds me when my children spilled grape juice and/or dropped their grape jelly sandwiches. Grape was their favorite flavor. Mine not so much. Checking the notes there was no grape, but there was black currant. Aha! That is what I smell so strong and overpowering. We had a black currant bush in the garden, and nobody ever picked the fruit. It had a tart, kind of sour taste. That is what I get at first spray, and it stays a while. After it dries down, it is a little sweeter and some amber comes out-kind of nice. The jury is still out on this one, as far as I am concerned. I don't totally dislike it. but I don't think I will repurchase. But the bottle alone was worth it.

Totally agree with below review. I tested it today without knowing about it's notes,it didn't remind me of Angel or lancome LVEB even a bit,and I can't call it a sweet perfume.all I could smell was lots of mentol-like patchouli,a sourish fruity note and some florals.it was pretty unisex IMO and I didn't like it at all.but I loved it's bottle as I always love Cavalli bottles I guess I don't have much luck with this brand's perfumes.the only one that could pass a simple like so far was "just gold" Edit: Tried it once again and this time I can pickup some sweetness but it's balanced by patchouli.to me patchouli-amber and black currant are the dominant notes while there's a touch of orange flower mingling with these warm,slightly spicy,bitter-sweet notes.it's not my type but I don't dislike it anymore.I have a friend whose favorite perfumes were Armani Si Intense, Tom Ford Black Orchid, Elie Saab Nuit Noor and CK Euphoria and now Florence is her signature so make sure to try it if you're into any of the mentioned ones It also has very good longevity and sillage

Florence reminds me of a hype party. On the one hands, smellings of oud and tobacco from gentleman and on the other hand, the smell of soap and flowers from ladies. That's why I think it has some unisex characteristics. This is definitely a different perfume from mainstream. It is bold and demanding. It is described to be a chypre floral perfume which I understand might be because of intense patchouli note. But it also has an oriental floral vibe to me. At some stages, it smells exactly like an oud perfume with a high amount of tobacco. Amber is also undeniable, as it gives the perfume a sweet deep accord. Florence has the essence of most of Roberto Cavalli perfumes and I can't say if I really like it or not (just like so many other RC perfumes), but I can recommend it to brunette ladies (maybe because of its Italian character) who are looking for a new bold perfume.

Mysterious, elegant, classic, romantic. Definitely for a night out. (You spoil it if used in the day). Great body, the ingredients are very well joined. The identity is very defined. The scent reminds me of sweet figs sometimes, and other times reminds me of the cream from CK- Euphoria (Not the perfume but the cream which is so good). It feels nothing of grapes at all as other comments say since grapes are citric and more fresh, neither wine since wine is kinda acrid. When it dries out, after one hour, I don't feel like the pachouli is strong or as first note as it is stated in Fragrantica (or it may be that the ingredients are so well joined that it's not a tough/uncomfortable pachouli). Or it may be that the sweetness softens the pachouli. I personally feel it's too sweet for me, till the point that it gives me headaches. But is an interesting fragrance though.
