Just Cavalli Give Me Magic for Him

Bought this perfume today at a local lifestyle store, and didn't expect much from the design as it looked too youthful for my taste and honestly a little bit strange but goodness was I wrong. With Valentino Coral Fantasy EDT on one hand and this on the other, I had absolutely no idea this would be such a strong contender! I ended up loving both but taking only this, to leave Coral Fantasy for yet another day (and getting one online for a cheaper price). I kid you not when I tell you, one of the most underrated, and uniquely distinct smells I've had for the price range ($40). Incredible piece. Must try! :)

Lovely stuff! First off the bottle- I had the bigger one in hand and it has a nice heavy'ish feel to it. The grey middle torus is pleasantly textured. I like the sculptural design of the thing. The colour if the glass would suggest ( or so I assume ) the scent inside is something green and light in nature but after testing I'd associate the fragrance rather with yellows and browns. The first minutes are quite busy/ promising/ missleading in the sense that there is a clear fruityness, some sweetness and tobacco mix that feels light and strangely appropriate for spring and early summer. Ten minutes later the final image appears. I get a semi sweet vanilla and honey (although there's no honey mentioned as an ingredient ) on top of tobacco. Everything has an oily or waxy cedar undertone. After 5 hours something bitter and rubbery emerge. I encountered this note before in Hugh Parsons Bond Street, where it's up front and I could not stomach the stuff. Fortunately here it's buried for most of the time. On a blotter the opening stays almost unchanged for hours without further development- if anyone buys it based on paper sample may be in for a surprise... All in all a familiar fragrance of a reserved sweet tobacco. Makes it past 6h mark on a chill, 9°C autumn day. Clearly detectable within arms reach for the most part of it's lifespan. It's already sold at lower prices and if the price tag goes down even more, to around 25Euro I'd be tempted to buy a 90ml bottle.

I saw this fragrance for a very low price and was intrigued by the notes so I blind bought it. First off, the bottle looks and feels cheap and lacks any feel of good taste imho (talking about the big bottle). Besides that the fragrance isn't bad. A bit generic but different enough to make it interesting. What do I get mainly: lavender which gives off a fresh soapy vibe, cardamom which gives a warm yet fresh spicey smell, cipress (or Hinoki) which gives off a citrusy, green and fresh herbal smell, vanilla and saffron which gives it a leathery warm sweet smell. What I personally love the most about this perfume is the green fresh smell of the Hinoki which comes of coniferous and herbal (probably the reason for the green bottle). It gives a nice contrast to the warmer and sweeter basesnotes. The performance is pretty good. No complaints there. So a worthy blindbuy.
